Please note: This cover is designed to fit our full size light gardens that measure 52-1/2” wide. Please measure your light garden. If your light garden measures 51” wide, or if you are buying a new light garden, the frame of this cover can be cut to fit correctly. We will include instructions on how to do this.
If you start seeds or grow plants in a chilly basement or a drafty back room, the Light Stand Cover will help provide plants with a bright, warm, stable environment that promotes optimal growth. Made from heavy-duty polyester, the cover reflects light back to the plants, increasing light availability by 33 percent — without increasing electricity cost! It has a mesh top to allow excess heat to escape, and multiple zippered openings so you can easily adjust ventilation. These openings also provide easy access so you can adjust the height of the lights without removing the cover. The front closes securely with hook-and-loop fasteners. This cover fits our Standard 3-Tier SunLite® Garden, Standard 2-Tier SunLite Garden and High Intensity 2-Tier Light Garden.

A bit disappointing...
from Hillsborough, NC
I hate to rate this so low, but it is what it is. I bought this for the 3-Tier SunLite garden and knew in advance that I might have to put on my DIY hat. My cover did NOT include instructions on how to cut the bars so it would fit my $599 stand. I was able to do it with no problem, but instructions should be included. After getting the supports to fit, I also find the cover droopy because it is designed to fit the larger stand. Gardener's Supply, here is my suggestion on fixing the design issue:(1)Shorten the 4 Long Frame Tubes so that fit the not as wide 3-tier SunLite Gardens (which you probably sell more of anyway)(2)Include 2 sizes of of the 3-Way connectors. One size can be an inch longer on each side to fit the 52-1/2" stand.(3)Include 1-1/2" tube pieces that can be pluged into the Corner Connectors. This will prevent the cover from sagging. If you guys have an extra tube, I would love to have it. My cover is just so saggy it is depressing! :(
Merchant response: We're so sorry for the issues you had with the light stand cover, and that it arrived missing the instructions for how to cut the frame! We've been in contact with the customer to resolve this issue, and were able to send an extra tube as requested.

Summer indoors, all year!
from Independence, OR
All the orchids came indoors for the fall and winter. I started perennials from cuttings, plantd some lettuce seeds to clip and eat. Added bonus...other plants are arranged around fo take advantage of the residual light, great! The only thing not so great is it needs to be 2 or 3 times bigger, I have alot of plants. It is well built and is attractive enough to be in the dining room. I love it.

When you pay $60 for a cover and purchase a new $600 plant stand at the same time, you would expect that the rods for the cover are the correct size. You would also be surprised that you need a hack saw to cut the rods to fit being careful as you are cautioned not to crush the rods!

Perfect for Cellar Seedlings!
from Nashua, NH
I have been hoping for years that Gardener's Supply would make a cover for the three tier lights, and my wish was granted!I moved my lights to the unheated cellar (permanently) to gain space in our small home. With the lights down cellar, I also am not bothered by the bright light they give off in the evenings, which allow the plants a longer growing day.The cover was super easy to set up, fits well and really does hold in the heat. It is easy to adjust the lights with the cover on. All of my seedlings are growing well! There is plenty of ventilation all around for air movement. There is no problems with moisture being trapped beneath the cover. The only bummer is that you can unzip the cover only from one side for watering or checking on your plants...I wish there were zips on both for better access. My lights are not set up against a wall, so it would be preferable to have access from both sides. However, for the price, I would probably just buy another set if that ever came available!
light stand cover okay
from McCall, ID
this cover was two inches too deep for the light Standard 3-tier Sunlite Garden it was advertised to fit, making it necessary to take a pipe cutter to it to make it work. It does now work as advertised, though was very pricey for the construction. I would make my own if had it to do over.
Top Frame Did Not Fit Light Stand
I was disappointed to find that the frame that holds the cover was 2" too long. When I called to inquire found out that it was sized wrong and there was no replacement. I cut two of the pipes to make it fit.It was a bit cumbersome to fit over the light stand. The instructions included nothing about fitting it over the stand.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I got this cover last week to surround my 3-Tier SunLite Garden where I grow orchids. It fits perfect, and has many ways to partially open for air flow or fully open to water the plants. It got a small fan (very small) to provide air movement when the cover is closed. I really appreciate the well thought out design features. There are even velcro spots on the upper back corners to hold the cover "doors" fully around the sides when open. I bought this hoping to increase the temperature and humidity. Mission accomplished.

The frame for the Light Stand cover is manufactured too large to fit the night stand. A replacement was sent and it was too large as well. I used a pipe cutter to cut off 1 1/2 inches from the support tubes to make it fit. Once I put the cover over the frame and light stand I discovered that the cover was too large as well. It looks saggy, but at least it's serviceable.

I would buy this product again
from Chico, CA
1 piece arrived damaged and when I contacted the company they quickly offered to send a replacement piece. No having to go higher in the chain of command or argue over whether the responsibility was theirs. I was very impressed.
