Japanese beetles are voracious eaters and can cause extensive damage to many garden and landscape plants by skeletonizing leaves and ruining flowers. This pyrethrin-based insecticide is an effective way to control these pests. In addition to controlling Japanese beetles, it also controls cucumber beetles, flea beetles, cabbageworms, Colorado potato beetles, and more. Comes in a convenient, ready-to-use 32-ounce spray bottle.

More Cone Flowers
By M. Bear
from Long Islan, NY
Last year beetles annihilated the cone flower petals After applying the Japanese Bettle Killer, there is a dramatic and positive result. It's necessary to keep a close eye on these flowers to reapply when signs of the bugs chomping shows up- usually after two weeks to 10 days.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It doesn't work
By upset rose owner
from rural Iowa
In spite of spraying the plants heavily with Japanese Beetle killer, it does not kill the beetles on contact, and they will be back the same day.

Works well in the short term
from Troy, Ohio
I was excited when first using the Japanese Beetle spray in that the rose bushes were clear of bugs in a short time. Unfortunately, they came back within a day and continued to return after each subsequent application. The bugs definitely did not like the stuff. I work at an historic site and the rose bushes I was spraying are exposed to the elements, so it may have been the spray simply washed off with the rain, etc. It's too bad. I have had more luck deterring the beetles by making a trap of a milk jug and dropping them in soapy water. Might work well for someone else though. I said 'yes', I would recommend it anyhow since its worth a try on your bushes at the price, which is reasonable.
