Tuck herbs, strawberries and flowers into the five planting pockets of the Lechuza® Cascadino Planter. This self-watering pot keeps your plants healthy and takes the worry out of watering. There are three ways to display:
This planter includes a specially formulated granular material, called Lechuza PON, that's made from nutrient-enriched pumice, zeolites and lava. The clean, attractive material wicks water up from the built-in reservoir to the potting mix, aerates the roots and provides your plant with nutrition.
The water reservoir releases moisture as your plants need it and lets you water less often. A built-in water-level indicator tells you when it’s time to add more water. From the makers of classic Playmobile® toys, award-winning Lechuza planters are crafted in Germany from durable, shatterproof, UV-safe plastic.
Includes the planter, water reservoir platform, water-level indicator and enough Lechuza PON to cover the platform.

Comments about : Cascadino Stack-or-Hang Self-Watering Herb Planter:
The self-watering aspect is great and it's big enough to hold a lot of herbs or flowers. What I don't like is that the side pockets aren't angled up enough. I started some herbs in coconut coir pellets, which are very small, so I put potting soil around them when planting in the pot. Since the sides only slope up very slightly and the soil is loose, it's hard to keep it from falling out the sides. Also, since you are to water from the top until the plants are established, you have to be really careful or water will run out also. Once the plants are established and rooted well, it shouldn't be a problem, but with young, small plants it is.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

About Me Avid Gardener
Got this to grow herbs indoors since it was so hot outside and wanted a planted where I could separate the different herbs. Love the self watering aspect-and a real self watering container that lets you know how much water is left. It regulates water great and the herbs are growing great.

Never happy with clay strawberry pots and mine finally cracked. The plants are thriving in this pot. The pot can be used as a hanging planter but you have to buy those attachments separately. This wasn't clear from the site. I'd like it better if for the price, they were included.
