New! Last year several customers reported such a bounty of tomatoes that the plant's weight grew too heavy for the support. Our redesigned support is extra-sturdy for this year's tomato bonanza!
Nothing tastes better than tomatoes harvested fresh from the vine! Now you can look forward to a season's worth of bounty with our revolutionary planter. Advanced technology makes this small-space system a convenient and foolproof way to grow a super-productive tomato plant right on your deck or patio. Also great for peppers and eggplant. We recommend using the included tie-back anchor to secure the planter to a post or railing.
Success starts in the roots. The planter's Honeycomb Ventilation and lightweight Grow Bag liner air-prune roots, ensuring a vigorous root system that can take up more water and nutrients — the secret to healthy plants.
Dual-Hydrate Watering System. Self-watering planter supplies roots with consistent moisture and reduces watering chores. A new, larger port makes it easy to fill the reservoir.
Built-in support. We've reinforced the heavy-duty, integrated spine and Snap-Lock Rings to provide support wherever and whenever it's needed — and you can open, reattach and lock in the rings to gather up and support wayward branches. A new tie-back anchor offers even more stability.

Having great expectations for this!

Comments about : Gardener's Revolution® Honeycomb Tomato Planter:
So far, so good. Assembly was relatively straightforward, with one exception. It would have been nice if the instructions had noted the wicking stop was attached to the liner. I was actually ready to ship it back as missing a piece when I finally saw it.The design appears very well thought out. I had purchased the extensions in case I need them. I like the light weight, since it is quite easy to move, even without attaching casters. I especially approve how well the self watering feature has been thought out, since heat in my climate can be brutal and dry out a pot extremely quickly. Between using the recommended potting soil and the reservoir capacity, I'd feel comfortable trusting I could do a two-three day trip even in the more extreme weather and not have a dead plant greeting me upon return. We will see how well it produces. Fall is the second growing season in Florida, so if my lonely tomato plant does well, I will be purchasing several more next year.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I've tried just about every container for tomatoes. This by far is the best. Not only are the plants twice the size of any other pot, the number and size of the fruit is even greater. Self watering so I don't have to worry about whether someone waters them when I'm away fro the weekend or vacation. I liked this so much I asked for 2 more for Christmas. Anyone need any old containers?
Great way to grow tomatoes on the patio.

I'm on my second season of using these planters, and am still very satisfied. In fact, this season I bought two more!

Shorter extension != improvement
By Cisco's Girl
from Rapid City, SD
I bought this product in 2016 and each extension segment measured 22". These segments (as well as the ones shipped with the tomato revolution extension kit) measure 15". Same construction, compatible, but shorter. My tomatos grew just as tall as last year, but the product did not accommodate them the same. Disappointing. I find a bungee cord works better at keeping the plants upright in the wind than the little bit of string included in the kit this year.
Good Idea, Poor Design
from Jefferson City, MO
I bought this planter in 2016 and another of the "new and improved" versions for 2017. Was disappointed that the 2017 version wasn't any better than last year in terms of structural stability. When you use the soil and fertilizer recommended you get awesome plants and tomatoes, but the planters and support rails provided simply cannot support them! I have mine strapped to my deck rail with heavy duty tie down straps making it difficult to harvest the tomatoes. I do like the self watering feature of the product, it has kept my plants in good condition in the extreme heat we've had this summer, but again, the plants are simply too much for the planter to handle. Don't think I will use these for my tomatoes next year. :(
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear that you had difficulty stabilizing and harvesting your tomatoes. If you'd like to try again, you and your tomato varieties might appreciate the larger base and weight of the reservoir in our Gardener's Revolution Classic Tomato Garden Kit. We have emailed you directly with some options to resolve the issues you experienced. We hope you'll reply to that message or give us a call at 1-800-876-5520.
A very disappointing product
from Chattanooga Tennessee
The Honeycomb Tomato Planter is ill conceived, badly designed and worthless as a tomato plant support cage. The wire rings are deviously difficult to install and the support pole is weak and flimsy, even if the supplied cords are used to help support the age.
My tomato plant is doing fabulous!

This design is obviously what tomato plants want!
from Weymouth, MA
I decided to plant my tomatoes in a planter this year instead of my raised bed garden. I was a bit hesitant, but have to say I am so glad I did! I decided to do an experiment and planted one in the honeycomb planter and another in a bucket. They are both next to each other and planted in the same soil. The plant in the honeycomb planter is much taller and already producing flowers. I will take a photo and add to this post to show the difference.
Take it off the market
from Frankfort KY
My second season trying to use this planter and both times having disastrous results. I will throw away 3 planters. The new one for 2017 simply broke apart. The vertical shaft broke apart pulling the plant down to a mess. I give up on this faulty product. .

Concept is good - impossible to attach wire layers
from Rochester, NY
The instructions say that attaching the height wires is difficult. They are impossible to construct! Why are they selling this if it can't be assembled? Waste of money - sits in my garage.
Merchant response: We're so sorry that you were unable to attach the support rings to your Gardener's Revolution Honeycomb Tomato Planter. We've reached out to you by email to offer our redesigned locking clips, which should be much easier to use. We hope you'll reply to that message or give us a call at 1-800-876-5520 so we can help with this.
