It's still June and I have tomatoes 5 Wiith the casters they are completely movable and was away for a week and no worse for lack of attention! Mindy Teaneck, N.J 2017-06-28
Easy to set up, so far working great! 5 After having had a disastrous experience trying to assemble another self-watering planter, I had high hopes for this one, and it did not disappoint! It was packed "cleanly," instructions were clear, and it was very easy to put together. I chose the white and my hubby says it looks a bit like the Guggenheim museum in NYC! There is a caplillary strip you put in the bottom and then a capillary bag you place in it as a liner. Then comes the soil. So far, my plants are loving the planter -- we've only had about a week of very hot weather so we'll see how it goes for the duration of the summer, but it looks like this will work nicely. An added bonus feature is that the planter is vented on the sides, underneath the "bands" of the exterior, so hopefully this will prevent mildew from forming in damp weather. There is also drainage. My only complaints are that it's a bit difficult to see when the water reservoir needs refilling, and the little plastic covers that go over the holes where one could put a trellis don't snap in -- they just sit there and could easily come out. The absolute best planter! Every consideration met. 5 We transplanted a root-bound Meyer lemon tree that was doing poorly into this well conceived and executed planter. The Meyer lemon tree is now doing very well. I can think of no way to improve the design. Other gardeners might appreciate additional color choices. Dena Seattle 2017-04-07
