Create a protected micro climate for plants in your 2' x 4' bed. You can start planting earlier in spring and extend the growing season later into fall for an even bigger and better harvest. The frame installs in minutes. Then add the reinforced polyethylene, vented greenhouse cover to shield plants from harsh weather. When the weather warms up, replace the greenhouse cover with the free micro-mesh insect cover to fend off hungry pests. Both covers have openings on both sides for easy access to plants. Use the six Earth Staples, included, to anchor the frame to the planting mix. Approx. 32" high in back, 24" high in front. Fits our U-Gardens, 2' x 4' Elevated Cedar Raised Bed, 2' x 4' Elevated Cedar Planter Box and other 2' x 4' beds.

Comments about : Protection Frame & Covers, 2' x 4':
Very easy to put together and functions well. The first big gust of wind blew one of them off. I added a "J" clamp to secure the frame to the bed which solved the problem. I look forward to trying the plastic covers early next spring.

I bought this for a 2X4 raised bed several years ago. My garden area gets full sun all summer and the dark green cover provided too much shade and faded to the point it is too unsightly to use. However, the cold frame properties work very well in this climate, so I ordered a few more for my 3X6 beds. Wish the product was available in a 3X6.

Perfect for Vancouver's chilly spring weather
By Susan B

I will put it over tomato plants until we warm up in July. I will also use it with the insect mesh over chard (to prevent leaf miners) and carrots (to prevent carrot rust fly). I don't have your special raised beds but will use it in one of my regular vegetable beds.

Growing my herbs in both my 2x4 raised beds. So exited that I have them protected from the freeze when they occur here in central Florida!
Insect Cover Shades Plants
from Lexington, KY
I was excited to use these frames with my raised beds. First early in the season and then use the insect covers to protect both squash plants...from vine borers and broccoli plants...but the green fabric used for insect protection seems to not let enough light in for the plants. Stunted growth and little fruit. Very disappointed. Wish the insect covers were made with a different fabric.

Heavy duty, great cover
from Coastal Oregon
Nice quality product. The plastic cover is heavy duty, much better feel than the ones I've seen at the garden center. I'm a little concerned about how it will hold up in wind as the 6 stakes provided don't seem enough for really serious winds that we occasionally get in my area during the season. I would have liked to see the cover tie to the bottom frame, not just the top and sides. As it is, I'm worried that it will be a sail in higher winds so I may have to bungee it to my grow box during those times. But overall, a good product that I'm glad I selected.

I love love love this product!!

Southern Arizona sun is brutal, even in Aoril. The last few years I've been trying to extend my garden of salad greens so that I will have fresh greens to mix with homegrown tomatoes. It's actually happening this year, thanks to this marvelous product. I plan to buy another one for my other elevated planter, as I suspect even my beans, eggplant, etc will be happier and more productive under this cover.
