For a permanent structure like a fence, arbor or trellis, you need a material that will retain its strength and good looks over time. This faux bamboo is an excellent choice. Made of plastic-coated steel, the 59" poles are rot and mildew resistant, and will always maintain their original sunny color.

As easy as tinker toys to build a fence-in in animal barrier when combined with deer netting.

Better than the real stuff
from Upstate New York
I had previously used real bamboo when making lean-tos for cucumbers, but after one year, they started to split and get moldy, so I switched to these faux bamboo poles. Very nice! They are sturdy enough to pound into the ground with a mallet. You can lash them together, or use the clips made for them. They are a bit smaller in diameter than the average real bamboo pole so the clips don't work with anything but the faux bamboo. The color isn't too bad- a mellow yellow similar to new real bamboo. I have only used 4 out of the package, so there are enough with which to be creative. The surface is very smooth so I presume they will be easy to clean up this fall.

These are wonderful for my tomato plants as well as my pepper and been plants.
sturdy good-looking and priced well

I'm using them to support pole beans. They are the perfect height and strength for this job. I also bought the swivel connectors. Together they will be useful for years to come as supports for various climbers.
Sturdy but slippery
from Tulsa, OK
I've acquired quite a few of these over the years. They are holding up well. In the past, I used them primarily to stabilize cages in containers or as a support in large pots. I'm planning to grow more vertically this year and read the many comments stating that the surface is too slippery for most vines to climb. So I've purchased some gorilla tape to wrap the poles with, so they have some texture. Spaced diagonal wrapping of the tape should give vines something to grab and make these very useful for vines that aren't too long. There are many types of connectors available to form teepees or the stakes can just be joined with string or rubber bands.

Now after using these for biggest part of the season I can comment on them. They went up easily and have withstood strong winds without problems. Only issue I have found is with the uprights 5 feet apart there is not enough for the middle plants to vine up. I think next season I will run an 18 inch or so width of plastic trellis fencing up the middle area between the horizontal poles which will allow the beans in the middle something to vine and and still leave room to reach behind the netting and pick beans. Pretty sure it will work and I can secure the webbing with plastic ties to the horizontal poles. I would recommend this trellis system.

Very effective in setting up a protective barrier to keep birds out of my blueberry garden. Quick & easy set up. Poles are durable and staked well.

I'm using the bamboo as a trellis for a climbing flowering vine. Love the way I can design my own pattern. Very sturdy and attractive. The clips are very strong and love the fact that they rotate making assembly very easy. Whoever design this product should get a raise.

I love these supports! Very strong, sturdy and can be used as single supports or use the swivel connectors for a vegetable trellis.
