Dress up your landscape with these elegant, self-watering planters. They are rather tall planters at 28" high, adding some drama to your patio. With clean lines and raised panel detailing, they have the look of fine woodworking. But, unlike wooden planters these are virtually maintenance free because they're made from high quality polyethylene — there's no need for annual painting or staining. With the best UV protection in the industry, these planters have a 15-year guarantee against fading. They have built-in reservoirs to supply a slow, steady supply of water to plants — just what plants need for healthy, stress-free growth.

Not what I'd expected
I knew they were made from polyethylene, but the description made them sound like they would have more of a wood look than they actually did. I thought they looked inexpensive and more like plastic than wood. The watering system inside was cool, but the aesthetics were not right for my front entranceway. Unfortunately, I am stuck with them though because Gardeners doesn't pay for return shipping and the cost for return shipping for both was $90 since they are oversized. Will have to attempt to sell on Craig's List or something. Customer Service was very nice about it, but there wasn't anything they could do and honestly that makes me less likely to order from Gardeners again : (

Beautiful and functional!
The deep red planter fits perfectly next to my front door and can be filled with a variety of itemsas the seasons change.
These planters STINK "literally"
from Boise, ID
These are pretty planters (I bought 6 total in two different shades). However, the platform that rests inside at the halfway point (I assume to eliminate the need to fill the planter completely full of soil) does not stay in place under the weight of the moist soil and plants. My husband put screws in to hold them in place, which fixed the "falling" problem, but even worse was the drainage issue. Any excess liquid from watering drained into the lower portion of the planter, sat, and putrefied. The odor was horrific!!! We drilled holes in the bottom to let the water out (Why didn't they think of that when they designed these planters?). At the end of the season, it was a mess trying to clean them out.
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your Fairfield Patio Planters. It sounds like you found solutions to most of the issues that you were experiencing, but we would be happy to offer additional help if there was something else that wasn't working right. The manufacturer does not pre-drill holes in this planter because of the multiple ways that it can be set up which require drainage holes drilled in different locations. We have emailed you the instructions which have many helpful suggestions in them, but please respond to our email or call us at 1-800-876-5520 if you have any further questions. We offer a 100% guarantee of all of our products, so we are always happy to make things right for our customers.

We use this planter in front of our garage between the two doors. We have a trellis attached above it and a beautiful mandevilla growing in it.
Love the look.
Love the look. Would not buy another, only because there is no way to fill the water or see how much is there.
A TOUCH OF CLASS!
from Oceanside, CA
Purchased two of the RED planters which arrived yesterday. To surprise hubby I wouldn't tell him what was in the boxes. He went to the gym this morning and I hit the nursery. Purchased two unusual mid size cactus similar to crown of thorns, only no flowers. Purchased the proper potting mix and put everything together before he got back. He was blown away and loves how they look! Said they finished off the front of the house.

I haven't put it up yet but it will become the "centerpiece" of a new patio garden I am having constructed. Plan to let Clematis grow on it.
PROBALLY WONT HOLD UP
About Me Avid Gardener
Purchased two of these planters one the self watering tray came loose allowing the plants to sink down inside the planter. The other planter side wall is bowing outward and expect the self watering tray to come loose and the plants to fall also.
These planters look wonderful in front of our house.

A beautiful, distinctive planter. It makes a statement and really showcases anything that is panted in it. Deep planting area allows for deep root growth. I am glad that I purchased these planters.
