Now it's easier than ever to save fresh rainwater for your garden using your downspout. We've adapted a popular British downspout diverter — well-regarded for its convenience and trim appearance — to fit American downspouts. The rain barrel diverter has powder-coated steel construction.

The solution to tying rain barrel into downspout
from New Hampshire
This diverter allowed me to finally get a rain barrel at my new home. Fairly easy to install. It comes with a small hole in the bottom, unsure of its purpose. We clogged it and the diverter works fine now.

This is my second downspout diverter as the first one for barrel on other side of house does a great job. They are always a little tricky to install but worth it.

About Me Getting Started
Diverts water from downspout to rainbarrel until barrel is full then moves water down the downspout.

This downspout diverter is convenient in that you don't have to go out in the rain to flip a switch and you don't have to think about debris in the rain barrel. The downside is that the bottom of the diverter gets corroded rather quickly--about 6 months here in Florida. I'm trying rust prevention on the interior, don't know if that will work.

Love this product! Easy to install. Well made. Will probably get 2 more for new rain barrel projects. Could easily spray paint if the color is not right for your home.

This has helped us use thousands of gallons of rain water over the years, more than paying for itself. The nitrogen fixed thunderstorm water is a boon for the garden.

It's not easy being GREEN!
By Long haired hippy

The function of these diverters is good. They do what they're designed to do very well. However, the winter weather around here takes its toll on the powder coating. It will crack, rust and pop off. It obviously looks terrible from the curb. I ordered two to replace the ones I bought about 4 years ago. I will install the new ones just before we sell this house. So, this is a mixed review. They work but if you live in a sections with "freeze/thaw" cycles be informed.
