Description lacks important measurements

About Me Avid Gardener
Comments about Self-Watering Conversion Kits:
I am really impressed with the Gardener's customer support, they deserve at least one if not two of the 4 stars I am awarding to this product! The reservoirs themselves are OK-ish, however the description lacks some important measurements. I bought the bigger version that supposedly fits a 16-20" pot. They are significantly smaller than I expected, and because of this I am not able to use them. Here is what I would have liked to know before I bought the product:1) The reservoir itself is 4.5" tall and 9.5" in diameter.2) The "petals" are 14.5" in diameter.3) The watering pipe is 12" long and has to be installed such that it touch the bottom of the reservoir. This means that your pot has to be1) At least 10" in (internal) diameter near the bottom, otherwise the reservoir won't fit.2) At most 14" in (internal) diameter 4.5" from the ground, otherwise the petals won't reach the side of the pot.3) At most 12" tall, otherwise the watering pipe won't reach the top of the soil.Again, this is for the larger version.
I have bought more after testing

About Me Master Gardener
I tried 3 of these and they did an excellent job of keeping oxalis plants consistently moist w/o my having to rewater through endless 90-100 degree Summer days, so I bought 2 more. I almost never rate things 5 or 1 star. They would have to be beyond belief for that.
Doesn't work
By Blumen Jones
from Denver
This did not perform as promised at all. I used the largest one for my annuals and perhaps the pot is too large for the roots to grow down to the reservoir. When I dug out the plants at the end of the season they were not near the bottom where they would need to be to drink. Good German idea but flopped to perform.

Adjustable self watering

This is great to maintain moisture in my planters of various sizes.
Great help
These are great to keep container plants watered when you don't have time to go around watering daily. I use them outdoors, but would work indoors as well. I like the way they adjust to fit inside the pots, so dirt doesn't drop down. I like the adjustable spout for filling with water. I find my plants still like a drink from above, as there is no wick.

the product fit great in the pot I used it in. however the plants I put in the pot didn't have deep enough roots so I find myself watering some extra from the top of the soil. It was lightweight and a great product
