Have not put item to use yet. Will have to screwthe top screen down somehow as the wind around here will surly blow it away if I don't.

Hose pops off of bottom
from San Diego, CA
I did get the gutter link-in kit and it works very well. After one good rain storm the barrel was full, but by the next morning it was almost empty -- it was slowly leaking out of the hose that attaches at the bottom. I reattached it and tried to tighten as much as possible, but it is difficult to get at and is not a good way to attach that hose with all of that water pressure behind it. I am afraid this barrel will not hold water to be used even in spring.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Well designed; Good Value

I love my rain barrel so much that I bought one for my parents for Christmas. I've used it a lot for rinsing off muddy shoes, kids yard toys, even paint brushes. The 75 gallon capacity produces a nice amount of pressure from the end of the hose. Only thing I would change is the color...the green doesn't look good against my brown brick home. I'd recommend setting it up on a plinth of a couple bricks or stones to allow for easier use and best water flow.
The only shortcoming on this barrel is that there is not insertion site/hole to stick end of gutter opening into. Water just comes out of gutter end & splashes through screeen on top
A wonderful way of naturally watering

The large size of this rain barrel makes it more useful than the smaller ones I had before. This is a Christmas gift but I am awaiting warmer weather to really use it
Yes I would buy this product again

About Me Getting Started
I really like my new rain barrel it fills up really fast & I am considering getting a second barrel . The only problem I have is the draining hose slips out of the slot at the top of the barrel & then the barrel empties on the ground . The overflow drain spout needs a better clamp.I do think it is a good investment with a few minor adjustments .

I use this to hold water for watering the plants in my hobby greenhouse during the winter. I have installed a tank heater to keep it from freezing and have run the hose into the greenhouse and have "running" water without the added expense of installing full plumbing.

I just moved to a drought area and thought this would help me conserve water usage. The day after they arrived (I bought 3) it rained all day and I felt that the barrels had already paid for themselves.
