Our largest rain barrel comes with extra features to make saving water easy and convenient. The overflow outlet diverts excess water away from your house; the safety grid on top has a removable debris screen that keeps leaves out of the water. The 4-foot hose has an on/off thumb valve and connects to a standard garden hose. Made of durable, UV-stable polyethylene with 25% recycled content.

Leaky hose connection
from Fairfield Iowa
Comments about : Deluxe Rain Barrel, Brown:
The hose connection leaked. Had to have a handyman glue it. Also, the hole for connecting to the bypass hose was too small, so unable to use the bypass. When I called Gardener's Supply they said they would contact the manufacturer about this issue. Still haven't heard back about why this is different than the previous 4 barrels I have purchased through Gardener's Supply.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Very Well Made Product
from Seattle WA
Easy to install. It has flexible plastic tubing about 5 feet long that is attachable to the overflow outlet using a zip tie. This is not mentioned in the description in the on-line catalog. I haven't used this yet as it has not rained.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Already have 4!

With global warming, even in Maine, we can't count on adequate rain. Two 75 gallon barrels drain our back porch and can get us through a mild drought. 4 75 gallon barrels are better! And now we have two more for our 30 x 60 veg/pollinator garden--plus landscape plants.

Had bought one before. Just bought to more. Like the improvement in the spout fffor draining.
Captures roof runoff during the downpour for use in the dry times. Just attach a hose and water the garden later.
from Centennial, co
This rain barrel is perfect for capturing roof runoff for use in the garden later. We just attach a Jose and let it run into the flower garden when things have dried out. So easy and functional.
I would consider buying this product again.

The screen top is still warped. It never straighten out.
from Intervale, NH
This is a worthy purchase, considering how precious water has become. Everyone should collect rain water! It's all made of plastic, which makes it manageable, but the plastic clips for the hose broke on day 1. We've devised something else to keep the hose clipped to the side of the barrel.
Will buy again!

Brown Rain Barrel Review
from Kenton, Oh 43326
This is my second barrel from Gardeners. My first lasted a long time...and then the leaks started to appear. Not worth trying to fix, so I just ordered a new one in brown. We got plenty of rain and filled nicely....however, the spigot hose that attaches to barrel is pretty useless. It is now leaking, I cannot seem to get it to attach properly and tightly. So drip and drip. What is the solution to making sure this seals and no more drips. I would say also, that the hose is not as pliable as the ones in the past. This is very stiff and pinches quite easily. That said, I wish Gardners would allow us to purchase these small parts.
