Ready to move up to a bigger, better composter? We’ve used dozens of compost bins over the years, and have incorporated all the features we like best into our Deluxe Pyramid Composter. The lid is hinged so you can open it with one hand, yet it can’t blow away. Narrow side vents ensure good ventilation. Two sliding doors, front and back, stay open to make removing compost easy. Best of all, the signature self-watering lid lets in the right amount of rainwater for optimum performance. Convenience and large capacity at a great low price! Holds 12 cubic feet. Open bottom; add the optional Rodent Screen (sold separately) to keep pests out.

This composter is really great. It is my first season composting ever, and I was very successful with this composter. The sliding door on the front was useful when I went to retrieve the compost. I didn't find that I had any rodents get into it, which was my main concern. Overall, it has been a great composter, I highly recommend.

great for compost - not varmint-proof
from Springfield, VA
I've had this composter for a few seasons & love that it is unobtrusive & keeps all the compost material enclosed. However, I have had problems with the sliding doors bulging from the weight of the compost making them hard to slide. I also have had rodents who have chewed through the back to get in, and mice that made a nest inside. I have it sitting on concrete pavers, so the optional rodent screen wouldn't have made any difference. And, no, I don't turn the compost often, especially during the winter. I also am only 5' 4", so it is difficult to get a good angle to turn compost, even with the nifty compost aerator tool that I have.

A Solid, Easily Used Composter
By Erin D.
from Williamston, MI
This product is very easy to assemble and use. Its black color attracts heat from the sun to ensure compost remains hot. It has nice ventilation on the top and sides, and the flip-open lid stays up once opened. The bottom doors, from where one removes the finished compost, are a bit sticky and don't always stay up, but are not accessed often. My husband and I don't turn the compost at all, but it still takes only about a year for material to rot down to a finished product. People who employ better composting practices than we do will get even faster results.
