Ready to move up to a bigger, better composter? We’ve used dozens of compost bins over the years, and have incorporated all the features we like best into our Deluxe Pyramid Composter. The lid is hinged so you can open it with one hand, yet it can’t blow away. Narrow side vents ensure good ventilation. Two sliding doors, front and back, stay open to make removing compost easy. Best of all, the signature self-watering lid lets in the right amount of rainwater for optimum performance. Convenience and large capacity at a great low price! Holds 12 cubic feet. Open bottom; add the optional Rodent Screen (sold separately) to keep pests out.

Good Enclosure, Poor Hardware
from Redding, CA
Comments about : Deluxe Pyramid Composter:
Bought two, and one is cooking cleanup and grass now. Reasonably easy to assemble, sturdy when all the bolts are holding the sides together. No rain yet in California but top looks to be ready to allow an appropriate amount of water in. Volume is less than my previous free-sranding piles, and evaluating the produced compost delayed a month or three. Second unit not assembled until yesterday after third trip to hardware store. Included were wing nuta and washers, but no bolts. E-mail to Gardner produced no bolts or response (not the manufacturer's fault) and buying the bolts needed locally was frustrated by two different size wingmuts in the incomplete package. But, now it's ready to begun the second pile.

Awkward to put together
from Butte, Montana
I like this bin but it was awkward to put it together and I still can't get the lid on the way they describe. Also it sits a bit crooked - won't really square up. All that being said it still works well
So far, I love it!
from Rhode Island
Easy to assemble - fits well in my city back yard -doesn't take up a lot of space behind the garage. I love that the lid stays up when you open it. Just bought it, so I haven't gotten any real compost from it yet. I imagine the slide up doors at the bottom will make getting the compost out much easier.
This is not a good product
from Los Angeles
We've spent the morning trying to assemble this composter. The washers were missing so we had to go out and buy some. The panels are warped and don't fit together. One of the top corners cracked while we trying to fasten it to the other. We are unable to fit the top on or slide the panels up and down. There is no bottom to it so the compost would sit on the ground.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Would not recommend
I read reviews both here, on the manufacturer's site and other generic garden sites and everyone seemed to be pretty pleased with this so I ordered one.The construction is extremely poor. The sides do not fit together without a lot of muscling around and I needed a clamp and a hammer to get the top on which still does not fit properly. There are chunks out of the plastic where you can tell someone (or something) was trimming the plastic after it was molded but these molds are extremely poor. I even had to use a screw driver to make the hole on one of the sides wider to line it up.I really liked the size and features of this unit as for me it would have been perfect but I'm going to work to return it.

Great Compost Bin!
from Port Angeles, WA
Perfect size for my garden clippings & kitchen scraps! The compost bin was easy to assemble & can be relocated to different areas without any issues!
Not well made
from Oakton, VA
Considering how much I paid for it, this composter did not assemble well. The instructions implied the front and back pieces were interchangeable. When I tried to put the lid on I found they were not. After taking it apart and reassembling, we were able to get the lid on, but it still does not fit well. I think the wholes provided to bolt the side together are drilled in the wrong place. I bought this one because it was the only brown one I could find. The other, cheaper, versions look like they would work at least as well.

Just got it set up and it is very sturdy, easy to open, and look forward to getting some compost in time for early spring planting.
