Make fewer trips to fill your feeder and keep birds from going hungry in between! This feeder has a stunning, solid copper roof and tray, with a steel mesh hopper so birds can cling anywhere to feed. The wide, overhanging roof helps keep seed dry and provides some protection to birds as they feed. Easy to fill — just slide the roof up and pour in sunflower seed. Holes in the tray provide drainage. Copper will age to a pleasing patina.

Gorgeous, but not for sunflower seeds
from western NYS
Comments about : Copper Sunflower Seed Bird Feeder:
How sad I was to see depressed looking birds sitting on the edge of this feeder staring at the seeds they were unable to get.... We have adapted by buying mixed blends and thistle seed but are spending a lot more money on seed. Thankfully we have other feeders that will dispense sunflower seeds.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

What kind of seeds to use
I've tried black small sunflower seeds and regular bird seed. The birds have a hard time getting the seed out and if it sits there too long the seed starts growing in the feeder - frustrating to birds and myself. Also I gave this feeder as a gift the same time I bought one for myself and my daughter in law has had the same problem. I like the look of feeder though. Just can't put much seed in it.

I love the copper sunflower feeder. I'm so glad I bought it!
The copper sunflower feeder is so attractive. Also love that it holds 4 pounds of sunflower seeds. I love it; the birds love it. Thanks for such a wonderful product.
Beautiful but not for Sunflower seeds
from Poulsbo, WA
This is a beautiful feeder! But we haven't found sunflower seeds that will come out of the feeder . . . we think we may have to put small amounts of regular bird seed in it. But, we keep looking for small sunflower seeds that will fit thru the openings on the sides.
Well built and nice to look at.

I have tried numerous birdfeeders and this is the only one to date that the squirrels have not figured out

Small holes a plus....
By Bird doc
I actually like it, because of the small holes. I have a busy schedule, and prefer not to refill the feeders every few days. Here in AZ, the birds gorge on seed, and it gets rather expensive. It's perfect fir peanuts. Takes a while, but the woodpeckers and finches keep returning!
