These compost pail liners do away with a messy job: cleaning out the compost pail. No more scrubbing, no more odor, no need to carry the pail out to the compost pile. And best of all, Kitchen Compost Bags are compostable, so you can toss the whole thing into your compost bin. If you love Bio Bags, you'll also love this Gardener's Supply version. Fits compost pails up to 12 quarts.

Thin but good for a liner

Comments about : Kitchen Compost Bags, 100:
Breaks down in the compost bin nicely, but a bit too thin to carry it alone to the pile. It's the only bag I have found to put inside my little stainless steel counter top bin.

good compost collector on kitchen shelf
from olean, ny
This was a re-order of these handy bags to have in the kitchen compost collector, but I don't place the bag in the final composter - I throw that the bag in the garbage, as it takes too long to break down.

We have used these bags in our compost bucket for a few years. Very happy with them.
Love these bags!

I like how these bags keep our compost container (an old 2 gal. drywall compound bucket) clean and then I can just dump the bag and all in the compost pile. My compost pile does not tend to get very warm so the bags do take a little longer to break down than the food scraps. So when I empty the pile, if I find large pieces of the bags, I just mix them back on the pile and they're completely decomposed the next time around.
Just What I Need!

These biodegradable bags fit well, stand up to the challenge of the organic material and seem to work better that the bamboo biodegradables I've been using. Time (and the compost) will tell! I do wish they came in smaller packages for storage purposes.
The best compost bags.

I've used a couple different compost bags and consistently they failed. Gardeners compost bags are the best I've used so far. They don't fall apart.

Helps in the kitchen to keep the mess of composting contained.
Into the compost instead of down the disposal

While the bags take a moment to open, that "waste" becomes nutrients for future plantings.
they are okay

with the compost tin I have, these disintegrate before the tin is full. They need to be made stronger for the larger compost tin
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I've used these compost bags for some time now and like them -- except for a few issues. They seem to have a tendency to tear the following bag when pulling a new bag of for the pail.In addition, the bags have a tendency to leak (or possibly weep) when they become near full. They're certainly not meant for heavy weight and it's a good idea to not add anything to the bag which has a high moisture content - this destroys the bag. But, I'm happy with the bags - they are the only home composting bags I have been ablt to find.
