Some gardeners dislike plastic mulches, but want something more permanent and more effective than bark mulch. This edging is made of coco fibers bonded with natural latex rubber. Anchored at the edges with Earth Staples, sold separately, they can be mowed over — no trimmer needed.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
It is a vibrant red. Wasn't expecting that. Also, the staples needed to hold it down stock out like a sore thumb. No way to blend them in.

About Me Budget Shopper
I have cement blocks around my property, tree, flower beds, etc. Weeds grow between them, so I think this item will alleviate that issue.

I installed this edging according to the minimal directions, using earth staples. As soon as it got wet the fibers swelled and the the edging bubbled up and is now an unsightly mess. I now have to pull up all the edging and either reinstall it or find another use for it. This problem might possibly be prevented by soaking the edging in a bucket of water before installing.

A waste of my hard=earned money!
from Sewell, NJ
This product was supposed to be a dark color and turned out to be bright orange. It was hard to put down because of ripples on edge and after the first rain it swelled up and wouldn't lay flat even with the hold downs.

I am buying this item again
Love the cocoa fiber edging between the fencing and lawn. It prevents the weeds from growing and provides a clean border. As mentioned in other reviews, it does have a reddish tint but in my case it looks great since I have red shutters, mailbox, and planters. I will be ordering more to complete the look along the entire fence area.
