Place these tablets at the base of landscape plants and the roots take up the active ingredient, capsaicin, and distribute the fiery flavor to stems and foliage. Deer and other animals take one bite and run! One application lasts all season. Doesn't wash off like spray repellents, so there's no need to reapply after a rainstorm. 50 tablets. Apply 1 tablet per every foot of plant height and width (height + width). Do not include the trunk of a tree. Do not use on fruit or vegetable plants. No shipments to CA.

Too, too early to evaluate the effectiveness

Comments about : Systemic Animal Repellent:
I just put the tablets in the ground next to plants that I want to protect and I really don't know if the capsaicin has had enough time to enter the systems of the plants.

Repels deer from my ornamentals
from Underhill, VT
I purchased this after reading reviews, and I have not been disappointed! I used it this year on ornamental annuals that I previously had to protect with external/physical controls, but these pellets protect without fencing or hanging repellents nearby. I'll be using in the fall when I plant tulips. If they keep the underground and above ground varmints away, I'll be posting again!

I have been frustrated over the years by the sporadic blooming of some of my flowers, particularly my lilies. Some of my lilies would come up with big juicy buds on them, start to bloom or not even get that far, and poof - I'd come back the next day and they were chomped off. I decided to try this remedy, and am pleased to report that it worked well! I put a few discs into the ground around the plants just prior to their complete budding out, and all have survived and bloomed beautifully! Hooray!

Don't know whether it will work
By red grandma
The product takes a week to a month to take effect. Even then, there is no way to know whether the animals didn't eat the plant because of the repellent or simply because they didn't come around to the area. Would have to do a trial in which one plant was treated and not the one next to it and wait a couple of months. Meantime, if you have sprayed the plants with liquid repellent as recommended in the instructions, that will also make it difficult to know if the systemic product works. So I would not buy this again and may return the bottle I received.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

BURY IN GROUND 1^ DEEP WORKS GREAT.
I was skeptical at first
By Leah in KS
from Wichita, KS
I was very skeptical but willing to try anything. The rabbits were eating all my Hosta, then the squirrels would dig up the roots. I applied one tablet each side of the plant and the chewing and digging stopped. It seemed to work about 3 months in a wet season. I would apply as soon as growth appears and reapply mid summer for best results. It was surprisingly easy and effective. I'm reordering.
First time to buy this product.
Will be using this spring when I start planting. Sure hope it works.

When I opened the bottle, about half of the little "pills" had disintegrated into powder at the bottom of the bottle. Because the remaining pills were so soft, they broke apart easily when I tried to plant them around my lilies. I will not order this product again.

I plant lots of pots each year and as the pots were planted I added the 'pill'. That's it, so easy. As the 'pill' dissolves the roots take up the nutrients and the the squirrels stop digging in my pots. Works great for me.
I had a problem with deer, rabbits & chipmunks eating my perennials. Last year, I improvised covers out of netting to protect them. It was really unattractive. So, I was thrilled to see these tablets. I followed the instructions on the label and THEY WORK! My gardens are growing beautifully and are not bothered by the above animals!
