The double-bait system, which includes a food/floral attractant and a pheromone lure, entices Japanese beetles to enter the trap, where they end up in the collection bag. When the bag is full, you simply dispose of it, bag and all — unlike other traps that are a hassle to empty and clean. The trap has a loop on top so you can hang it from a tree limb or a stake (not included). The hourglass shape of the bag prevents beetles from escaping, and perforations prevent rainwater from collecting in it. Includes two disposable bags; additional bags are also available.

Comments about : Japanese Beetle Trap:
We have filled three bags this summer thank goodness I ordered extra bags and bait. You do want to hang it away from the garden or plants they are attacking, Only downside is what to do with them after they are trapped because some of them are still alive in the bag ick! Definitely going to buy again to get rid of these fair trade beetles.

Good-bye Japanese Beetles

After experiencing a deluge of Japanese beetles last year I decided to be prepared this summer. My son had great success with a trap last year.
A pleasant surprise

Read instructions! Do not hang on infected area, rather AWAY from the area, as instructed. Learned the hard way......
This took care of our beetle infestation

In the past I have picked the beetles off foliage. This year we had an overwhelming number. The Beetle Bagger immediately attracted the beetles and i was seeing less and less on foliage. But the number of beetles was very surprising. We had to empty the bag every couple days. Finally the number of beetles is beginning to drop in the 2nd week of August.

Surprisingly Amazing and Extremely Effective
from Long Island, New York
We set this Japanese beetle trap on a low hanging branch in my backyard. The product gives off a little smell that isn't obnoxious and is tolerable. Within a few hours, we saw through the transparent collection bag that Japanese beetles were flying in and getting trapped. If the trap works as intended and starts collecting a lot of beetles for you, then my advice is to change the collection bag every few days. We noticed that the heat during the day and the amount of beetles confined in a small bag was a bad combination and started to smell really badly. The product does provide another bag but I just ordered more replacement bags. I was thinking about ordering a competitors product because it had a collection area that wasn't a plastic bag (more like a plastic jar) and can be removed and reused. I have been using this product for only a month now so I would like to see how long it really lasts. My real worry is that I'm just attracting more Japanese beetles into my yard from my neighbors just by using this product and that I would have to use this product every year. I hope this helps with your decision making process.

I just put this out about 15 minutes ago. Already there are about 100 beetles in the trap! Works FAST! Very pleased.
