Bring your garden up to a whole new level! Our 2' x 2' elevated bed is easy to plant, tend and harvest without kneeling or bending. Plus, it offers creative landscaping opportunities. Set up one or more of these beds around the edge of your patio to add privacy, or as corners in combination with our 2' x 8' beds to create a garden "room". Like our other cedar raised beds, the sides are held in place with our sleek and sturdy aluminum corners. There's a false floor made from cedar planks set 10" down from the top so there's plenty of root space for vegetables and flowers. Excess water drains through slats; vents in the sides allow air to circulate and excess moisture to evaporate.

Third elevated bed I own
from Chicago suburbs
Comments about : Elevated Cedar Raised Bed, 2' x 2':
This elevated bed is the perfect size to complete my vege garden. I already had 2 of the 2'x4', and this size completes the "L" shape for the space I am using. The quality is excellent; just what I've come to expect from Gardener's Supply!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I'm very happy with quality and appearance
from Los Angeles, CA
I have several elevated beds and needed an additional one to be able to rotate tomatoes year to year. The only place I had left was a small brick area outside my kitchen door. This 2x2 size fit perfectly and looks great.
I purchased 9 of these planters for our 4 story set of porches on the back of a 3 flat in Chicago. We had architectural grids put on the ends of our porches and put planters in every corner near the grids. I lowered the bottom platforms so we could add more dirt (insulation for winter). We planted honeysuckle vines on the sunny side of the building and silver lace vines on the shade side. The cedar has weathered to a nice gray. The planters aren't too traditional or too modern - just perfect for our Victorian brick building. The vines have enough soil that they have overwintered 2 years now. I see no sign of rot on the boxes. Putting together 9 of these planters was a lot of hard work - especially since I moved the platforms down and insulated them with foam. I do wish there were options for better risers/casters and that the venting hole was lower for adapted uses like mine. However, there are no planters that are priced this well, that are this nice and large on the market. These planters are very high quality and I'm confident they will last a long time.

Exactly what we wanted
By Happy Gardener

We used the raised beds we purchased on a stone retaining wall, that we had to build. When we put railings between the boxes it made the perfect fence to assure no one would step off the wall. So, not only do we have an attractive fence but we have our plentiful garden right outside our back door! We love how easy it is to garden in these beds and how attractive our finished product is. We have gotten LOTS of compliments and inquiries.

Love the size.

I love the size of this one. It's perfect for those smaller places that you want to add flowers to. I will be ordering 2 more for another area. I love that at my age I will still be able to have beautiful flowers without all the bending.

Nice looking, it would be better if it were just a little taller and a little deeper. You will need a power tool to screw in the many screws...otherwise, prepare to scrape your knuckles and apply a lot of pressure. On the unit I got, one panel did not slide down all the way and therefore the top edge of that side was higher than the other three. I just put that one toward the back.

Love This Product
By Bill the gardener

We purchased our raised bed planters last year and this is the second year growing food in them. Thought it was about time I did a review. Yes, we get compliments on how good they look, but the main thing for me is, our veggies grow well in them. My wife and I live in a mobile home community that (thankfully) allows veg. gardening in your yard... so long as you try to keep it tidy and attractive. The elevated grow beds are a great help in that respect. Also, important to us is that the planters are just the right height to allow "stand up/no stoop" gardening. Very easy on the back. Growing results: Currently, the 2x2 bed (see picture) is planted with one Patty Pan squash and one Crimson Sweet watermelon. In just 14 days the melon grew from the size of a small green olive to 5 inches in diameter. That growth rate, for something growing in a raised bed planter, is amazing to me. Mulching: Our July/August temperatures reach the 90's and beyond. Therefore I apply a 2 inch layer of mulch to every bed. This slows down evaporation/water loss in the soil. Without mulching I'd have to water a lot more often than I do now, and the plants would probably suffer undue stress. We applied a good deck stain to protect the outside of the grow beds. On the inside, I used a non-toxic sealer called "Soy Seal Wood Sealer & Waterproofer". You can find it on the internet. I have been quite satisfied with the product. We also garden in 3 other Gardener's 2x8 raised beds with good results. That will be a separate review.

Great raised bed!
By RI MOM
from Exeter, RI
I needed something to go over my electric box by my pool. This raised bed was perfect, as it has the floor about 12 inches down, and then a few feet of clearance under that. I was able to set the bed over the electric box, and not only protect the electric, but beautify my pool area! So far the cedar is holding up well and my plants are happy.
