Comments about Wooden Rain Barrels:
Beautiful, but not at all practical. It really needs better screening to keep out debris and insects as well as more practical ways to get the water out!

Comments about Wooden Rain Barrels:
I bought this for the look and price. I had a difficult time getting the wire surrounds to stay on the bolt that holds them tight around the barrel. I don't mind assembly but this was a beast to assemble -- time consuming and manually difficult). Once the outside wood is assembled, you have to fill the barrel to capacity to get the liner situated properly. I did this, but the next day it rained and the bottom wire came loose so I had to manually empty the entire barrel in order to re-attach the wire surround.
So far I have not used the rain barrel to the best of its ability but hope to rig up some sort of pump/hose attachment so I can water my garden straight from the barrel without lugging the water can back and forth 5 times.
I like the look of it but wish I had waited for a better version to come out before I invested.

Comments about Wooden Rain Barrels:
I like this rain barrel because you can dip the whole watering can in it - no tedious gravity filling of watering cans. Be warned, however, that it doesn't have a spout or fitting to attach a hose; I'm not sure how I'll empty it for winter.
It holds a lot, and looks nice, but it was not easy to put together.

Comments about Wooden Rain Barrels:
I recently purchased this rain barrel as the little 40 gallon one I have gets used up so quickly, and living in CA I want to try to conserve all the water I can! I like this rain barrel since it has a large capacity, and it is attractive. However it was difficult to put together.

Comments about Wooden Rain Barrels:
The capacity and appearance are great if you don't mind carrying your own water. I don't like that the cover-locks have to puncture the heavy bladder because I worry about tears or wear. There's also no way to later install a spigot so I will be weight-lifting my water around the yard.

Comments about Wooden Rain Barrels:
I have had a rain barrel before that was ugly and broke during a big storm. This barrel seems much more sturdy and is way better looking.
