Based on reviewers comments I bought this tool to sharpen knives. I couldn't be happier. Even some freebie knives, after being sharpened with this tool, can cut a tomato like a mandoline. Please note, I did not use it on knives with a serrated edge.

The photo makes it look easier than it is. I don't feel like my tools are that much sharper. This review is asking whether I'm a "gourmet chef," "casual cook," or "avid cook." I don't know what that has to do with a sharpener for gardening tools.

I bought it for my pruning shears. I use them allot and always have to buy new ones after one season. It help to sharpen the ends. But was difficult to way into blade. Would have to take the shears all apart to get ALL of the blade. Thought about it. But was worried I would not be able to get them back together.
