OK, my bad. I didn't realize these filters came in different sizes and didn't think I needed to check the specs. These are too small for my compost pot. Can't use them, but it's not worth the postage to send them back. Had to re-order the correct size. Wish size had been noted upfront in the product description. But these filters are ok and will recommend them with the warning to check size.

I have bought this product many times in the past, but this time they were not as before. They were less than half as thick. They won't even cover the opening of the lid of the compost jar for which they were bought. So don't know how they will do any good. I guess i would have to tape them in, but then that would block the filtration. I need to return this product. Wish I could buy the ones that were previously made. Gardener's Supply shouldn't handle this item anymore if this is the poor quality provided!!!

Have composted for years & these filters help my home compost stay odor-free. The convenience of just washing them up is great. The only reason I replace them is that over a few years they get thin & replacement seems the best to keep odors at their minimum.

The loose charcoal that came with the compost bin was highly effective in preventing odors. These pads are not effective.

These are the exact replacement filters for my compost bucket. I made sure to measure and order the correct size since there are many sizes available.

These filters keep those pesky fruit flies out of my compost crock. The fact that the filters can be rinsed and used again is helpful if you don't generate a crockful of scraps that quickly.

These were the wrong size for my composter. I did not see size represented as small vs. larger.

Be very careful to order the correct replacement filters. I thought I ordered the set that went with my compost crock--I was looking at a photo of the crock--but when they came, they're not the right size. So buy beware, Gardener's Supply Co has at least two different sizes of filters, and double check to order the correct size. All in all it seems easier to buy a compost crock in your own town and then buy replacement filters there, too.

These make composting better, in that when we don't have them, the odors are more noticeable and the fruit flies don't find the contents as alluring!
