Description

At 29" high, this attractive cedar planter is the perfect height for easy growing, eliminating the need to stoop, bend, kneel and reach. It's a generous 10" deep so you can grow big plants like tomatoes and root crops like carrots. With 8 square feet of growing space, there's plenty of room for multiple crops, yielding a generous harvest. Set up one or more of these rectangular beds around the edge of your patio to create a convenient kitchen garden, or fill them with flowers for a stunning display. Like our other cedar raised beds, the sides are held in place with our sleek and sturdy aluminum corners. There's a false floor made of cedar slats, set 10" down from the top so there's plenty of root space for vegetables and flowers. Excess water drains through slats; vents in the sides allow air to circulate and excess moisture to evaporate.

Very nice product - perfect size for a small vegetable garden and the height makes it easy to tend - also makes it a little harder for slugs to find their way to a free lunch. In addition it looks good with the cedar panels and the black metal legs.

Due to the abundance of rabbits in my neighborhood and a reluctance to have in-ground plants growing too close to the house due to termites, I had not grown any leafy green vegetables until I purchased this product. It's high enough so the rabbits can't get to the plants and without the ground next to my house getting wet all the time, I don't have to worry about termites. It was very easy to assemble. The only problem is that the packaging needs to be better - I have purchased 4 of these in the last year or so and every one has had part of the frame bent. Since its aluminum it was easy to bend it back but I would prefer that this did not happen during shipping.

Great on my deck. Attractive and just the thing for my lettuce or herbs. I bought an elevated planter last year that I use for herbs. This year I have already planted lettuce. It will be so convenient to walk out from the kitchen and harvest lettuce for our salads. This did not come with casters but my husband was able to add "caster feet" that we bought from Harbor Freight. Wonderful to be able to move it to "follow the sun".

I purchased two of these last year (as well as the standing garden) for a number of reasons. First, as I live in AZ all the property around my house is concrete or gravel. When I moved here I thought about clearing some of the gravel for a raised bed but the profusion of rabbits in my neighborhood nixed that idea. In addition as there is a known termite issue in my neighborhood, having wet soil around my house was not a good idea. I started with standard pots on stands and that was fine for certain types of plants but I wanted something that I could use for leafy vegetables and small root vegetables like radishes. These elevated beds have been perfect for them.
One thing that is annoying to me has nothing to do with this product. In one of the elevated beds I used moisture control potting soil and in the other I used a professional non-soil growing mix that cost about 4 times the price of the potting soil. Birds have been digging up the potting soil looking for insects but have not touched the professional growing mix as that does not seem to attract insects. With an elevated bed, that means that when the birds starting digging around, not only does that disturb the seedlings I have planted but it also spills out to the ground and I end up having to clean it up nearly every day. Once the remaining plants in it have been harvested I plan on removing the potting soil and replacing it with the professional growing mix.

Ii am using this for herbs, deep root veggies. Soil settles, so need to add more potting soil as it rains. Looks great in my yard and love the cedar wood smell. I placed small step stones under the legs to keep the legs from sinking into the dirt. I like it much more than the 2 shallow (5" deep) elevated beds purchased from a big box store. Critters have a harder time climbing up the aluminum legs. My husband gave it to me last August for my birthday. Love it!
