This is a very nice looking, well made compost pail. I ordered the red & it's a beautiful color. The only short-coming is that the top is too narrow. I bought the biodegradable bags & you can't pull them out of the pail when you have compost materials in it. You have to dump the whole thing out with a bit of force. Would really like this in a larger size with a wider opening in the top!

        Attractive Composter Container

        Pros

        • Color is as shown
        • Color Is As Shown Tight
        • Tight Lid
        • Use It With The Filters

        Cons

          Best Uses

I use the pail under the counter but it would be fine on the counter. Used with the filters there are no bugs and no odors. It is difficult to use with a bag inside because the neck tapers. Because of that I put the material directly in the can and then rinse it out. It cleans easily because of the great finish.

            • This Is A Very Poor Desin
            • Through The Narrow Neck

            Best Uses

This kitchen scrap holder is a poor design. It should be built with all the sides the same width.Instead, because the top is narrower than the bottom. Food scraps get stuck at the bottleneck and it is hard to get them out without making a mess.
Even though I purchased charcoal filters for the food scrap holder, the charcoal mildewed the 2nd day I used it.

              Compost holder is attractive.

The compost holder is grossly overpriced. I won't buy another one. It's hard to keep clean. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT.

I have mixed feelings about this

              By Pigkle

I love this container for the convenience and the way it looks in my kitchen. What I don't like is that the charcoal filter definitely keeps us humans from smelling any odor but the knats/fruit flies or whatever they are have no trouble at all finding it. I had at least 5-6 at any one time. I have lined the inside of lid with foil which seems to have eliminated them.

This is perfect! The compost crock holds enough scraps that I can leave it for a couple of days or so before having to take it out to the compost. My biggest concern was if it would smell - I bought the filters to go along with it, and there is absolutely no smell at all! I love it! And, it looks nice on my counter top! Very happy with this product :)

I've had other compost containers for my kitchen, but they were harder to clean and broke easily. This is sturdy and keeps the fruit flies out. I would definitely recommend this container to anyone looking for an attractive compost container for the kitchen counter.

                            How-To

                            • With the increase in recycling and reuse programs, it's easier than ever to reduce the amount of trash in our garbage cans. But we can do more. Some estimates say that a single household can divert 300 pounds a year from the waste stream.
