Description

  • Super-sturdy cages keep your tallest tomato plants upright for a bigger, cleaner harvest
  • Big, 8" square openings make harvesting easy
  • Hinged panels fold flat for compact storage
  • Choice of Red, Green or Steel Gray
  • Set of 2

You asked us for taller tomato cages and here they are! Our heavy-duty, powder-coated steel Tomato Towers are much taller and stronger than old-fashioned cone-shaped supports, ready to support your biggest indeterminate tomato plants. The towers support plants on all sides (no tying needed) and keep plants up off the ground for better air circulation, cleaner fruit and fewer diseases. Large openings make harvesting easy, and the towers fold flat for off-season storage. 53" high installed. In windy locations, we recommend anchoring these towers with our Extra-Tall Earth Staples, sold separately.

Comments about Tomato Towers, Set of 2:

Very poor design. The top portion should be the size of the bottom portion. When you move the tower the top comes out of the bottom and it is a pig trying to get it back together. To prevent this you must bend over so as to grab the bottom portion. Anyone with back trouble can tell you it is a pain. A good product but no common sense was used in the design.

Although of the usual high quality, these towers are two pieces with a bottom piece and an extension...a fact I do not see decribed elsewhere. I was looking for a one-piece tower.

Had to buy more this year. I wouldn't mind them being one square taller which is why they get 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, they've worked great. This year I'm placing two tomatoes per cage on the outside of the cages with a pot of compost buried inside the cages to feed them.

Comments about Tomato Towers, Set of 2:

I purchased 2 sets of 2 (for a total of 4 towers). Overall I am quite pleased with the size and quality of the towers. My only complaint is that when I went to set up the last of my four towers, I was unable to unfold it because one of the "twists" at the corner was folded over a horizontal wire for the oposite side of the tower. I didn't want to return it since all of the other towers were already set up, so I got some help bending the wire to allow it to open. (I had to have help because the wire is VERY thick and strong). I do recommend the towers, but I also recommend inspecting the entire shipment before you begin assembling them.

I have been using these towers for about 8 years, love them. Great support and tall enough for my tomatoes! Just need to use anchors, at least where I live, we get strong winds in the summer, thunder storms, tropical storms.

                    • Tomatoes are consistently the most popular vegetable in American gardens. But for most gardeners, just any old tomato won't do.
                    • Learn how to repot your tomato seedlings when they've grown too large for the original pot.
                    • Left on their own, tomatoes will grow into shrubby, multi-stemmed plants that topple under the weight of their fruit. Proper pruning will help prevent this problem.
