I use this when picking food from the garden. One of the most efficient ways to clean produce is to soak it to remove dirt. With this, I can insert it another trug, fill it with ripe veggies, then fill it up with water. Then, I just pull up the colander, and nearly all the dirt is gone before ever stepping into the house.

                • Gathering Garden Produce

What I like most about having this nifty veggie colander is that I can rinse fresh-picked veggies in the yard easily with the garden hose rather than in the kitchen sink where the soil would wash down the drain into the septic. Heavy soil on root crops like carrots and even gritty lettuce leaves sprays away without a big mess in the kitchen. Lightweight basket also works well for gathering the produce at the garden.

I am so happy I bought this. I was eyeing it last year, but I wasn't sure how often I would use it. Boy, was I wrong. I use it all the time, mostly for washing vegetables. It is great for washing large quantities of greens. We recently went cherry picking and washed 20 lbs of cherries in one go with the tubtrug colander. I have even used it to gather eggs!

The plastic is a little more rigid than a normal trug and the handles are different. It cleans easily and it nests nicely in the small (3.5 gal) tubtrug for storage. For ease of washing though, I recommend using the medium (7 gal) trug.

This is my fifth tubtrug product and I love them all!

Outdoor strainer to wash off veggies when used with 7 gallon trugg. Indoor I use it to take out scraps to compost bin. Also use it to hold recycling and take to garage Bin. I used it when we had over two 7 gallon truggs full of cherries to wash and clean them. Then I kept cherries in strainer while I pitted all the cherries. It has been s great purchase. I find new uses for it all the time.
