Buy together and save! This set includes the VegTrug Patio Garden, the VegTrug Frame & Greenhouse Cover and the VegTrug Insect Cover.

The VegTrug Patio Garden lets you garden at an easy working height; no bending or kneeling to plant, tend and harvest. Elevated bed means no weeds and fewer pests, too. The V-shape makes efficient use of space and planting mix — grow deep-rooted plants like tomatoes in the center, shallow-rooted crops along the edges. Includes a fitted fabric liner to keep soil contained while letting excess water drain. Plastic feet protect wood from wet surfaces. Easy assembly.

The VegTrug Set includes the Vegtrug Frame & Greenhouse Cover. You can start planting earlier in spring and extend the growing season later into fall for an even bigger harvest. The easy-to-install, 21"-high steel frame installs in minutes with convenient push-fit connectors, and the reinforced polyethylene greenhouse cover has heavy-duty stitching and zippers. The cover slips snugly over the frame and attaches with strong VELCRO® brand tabs. Zips open for ventilation and easy access to crops.

The set also includes the polyethylene micro-mesh VegTrug Insect Cover to protect plants from insects, birds, harsh winds and hungry deer. To install, simply remove the greenhouse cover from the frame, and then install the insect cover in its place. Attaches with strong VELCRO® brand tabs. Zips open for ventilation and easy access to crops.

I received my planter in a box and I thought it would take a lot to put together. Man, I was wrong every piece fit exactly right, one of the easiest project I ever put together.
The planter is fantastic, no binding over, plants very easy to take care of. The covers that come with it are great also, I'm planting tomatoes so I won't get as much use of them till next year when I plant shorter plants in it, but it has given the new plants a great head start.

My first real garden! Our soil is clay so if I had any hope of growing something, it had to be in a container. Next obstacle are the wildlife - deer eat everything we have planted in pots. We saw your VegTrug raised garden online and knew it would be the answer to our problems. The height is perfect and we will soon have our first crop of squash, egg plant, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, peppers and lettuce. Thank you for this wonderful product.

                  • Organic gardening

We've just branched into our first food-growing garden. Since we wanted to grow organic, a raised bed is ideal... and due to health limitations, having the garden at waist height is a bonus. I was attracted to this product because of the frame and covers. It was easy to put together (though best with 2 people, if possible).

                  Areas that could be improved:

1- Velcro to attach the insect cover securely

2- **Information on when to leave the insect cover off for plants that need pollination. **

3- I wish the frame/cover had an option for taller plants.

[Info on how far to space plants in a trug vs in the ground would also have been appreciated.]

One concern about which the jury is out: the wood is quite light-weight. Great for putting it together. Made me wonder how long it will last being out in the elements with our snowy winters.

We're new to organic and edible gardening, but it sure seems that plants are growing at a fast clip. We are big salad eaters (3+ romaine heads a week). We've got barely 1/4 of the trug planted with salad greens, and we've been eating 3 salads a day of our own greens! I can't compare this to growing in the ground, but it seems very impressive to me.

We're very happy with our VegTrug and hope to be able to use it for years to come.

                  ASSSEMBLY TIP!

We assembled as per the instructions and... the two side rails wouldn't fit (the triangular end caps hit the rail ends mid-board, such that the board protruded past the edge and any attempt to install the two end screws would split the wood).

Long-story short - we dealt with Gardener's Supply customer service, who were most accommodating and helpful. But we took one last look at our Veg Trug and realized that the 3 H-bracket legs all has a slight outward flare at the top, thereby reducing the amount of wood on the end caps just enough that the side rails wouldn't fit flush.

Solution: With the H-bracket leg bolts slightly loose, grab the top of the legs at one end and pull them together (there's just enough play to do this). You may also need to slide the bottom of the slatted pieces toward the center. Zip in a screw on each side of the triangular end cap to hold the legs in position. Repeat at the other end.

Your side rails should now line up flush with the edge of the end cap and can be center screwed into place. Tighten up the bolts last and you're good to go with a solidly constructed planter.

I really like the looks of the Vegtrug and it's a great height and easy to use. I placed it on our deck, away from deer and other animals. So far, my vegetables and herbs look great. I love the cover, keeps the rain from pounding down on the plants. It wasn't difficult to put together, but the side pieces and corners Do Not line up causing the wood to split when screwed together. The instructions suggest not tightening the bottom pieces until the side pieces are on which we did, but still didn't help. The product is made in China with Chinese written instructions...not the best. But all in all I like it, and will keep it, just hope it holds up with the sides wood splitting.

Love this product! I had wanted to order one for some time and finally took advantage of 20% off. Very impressed with the quality, ease of putting it together, how tightly the pieces fit (so often they don't line up well). I also bought the greenhouse and insect covers. The greenhouse cover works like a charm here in the Pacific NW. Now I wish I had bought 2 veg trugs!
