I live in the California desert with perfect weather for growing vegetables from December thru March We have sand...not soil so our ground is unfit for growing anything . This unit is perfect to have a wonderful large deep vegtable garden . Only recommendation is I wish it was on wheels for easy movement. It's very heavy once you've placed it and filled it with soil.
I really shopped around and felt this unit was the best value for the money. I hope the quality will have it to last for many many years.

I love this thing! I can reach everything, see everthing and don't have to kneel, stoop or crouch. I stuffed it full of herbs, tomatoes, Swiss chard, cucumbers and zucchini and could have put in another couple of plants. Next year will add marigolds for color and to repel bugs. My only problem, until the plants all filled in, was the curiosity of squirrels...they think it's their playground. I used a quart of your super fertilizer and I could probably braid line strong enough to moor a sailboat with my tomato vines! Everything is still producing like crazy even though it's mid-October; even the tomato and zucchini plants are still blossoming! Wish I had more room, I'd order another one. One suggestion: ever think about adding collapsible or removable trellis-work to the sides to help support vine? I attached some trellis scraps to both sides and gave my cucumbers and zucchini plants something to lean on. All in all, though, this earns an A+ and a gold star on its forehead. Thanks from southeastern Massachusetts!

This planter was recommended by my friend Bobbi who had really made a wonderful garden in it. She and I are in our senior years so the no bending over is a huge plus. Plus it was fun to build. You gotta use a DeWalt electric drill/screwdriver. Then it's a piece of cake.

Wife needed to have a raised work space and this VegTrug™ Patio Garden was the perfect item. We configured the VegTrug™ on a slight slope and the water drains to one end and into a plastic bucket. But it would be great if there was some sort of a collection control on the bottom to save the water that drains down below. Just a thought!

The VegTrug was easy to assemble. It is easy to work in due to it's height and size.
It is made of cheap wood that may not last. It should be made of composite or plastic.
