Bought this last year and grew a few vegies. This year I got started in early March and planted spinach, romaine lettuce and kale. I have never before been successful in growing any of these, as the hot weather in TN comes early. Spinach is still growing leaves with no sign of bolting, same with spinach. I have harvested all 3 of these and have potatoes coming on after the greens are finished. This is a gret purchase!

Takes a lot of potting mix/soil to fill it, but once it's set up, it' a breeze to maintain. Easier for us with bad knees and aching backs. Love it!

                      • Vegetable garden

Because it was difficult for me to crouch down to my old "raised bed" vegetable garden, I bought one of these a year or two ago. It is the perfect height and an added bonus is that it cuts down on bugs etc on the plants.

I now purchased a second planter to grow more veggies.

An FYI: I grow tomatoes and the cover isn't tall enough for them. So it was useless in my case.

Great use of limited space without disrupting current landscape, placed on a smaller deck in corner. Work height is wonderful maintenance on plants and watering done without being on knees or bending over. Easy assembly and able to fill and work with soil one bag at a time.

Assembly was difficult due to drill holes not matching up. Liner helped cover up where we needed to glue the board that split. Hopefully we will get good results growing our veggies and herbs. Radishes are already growing well.

The Vegtrug is great on the back. No problem filling with potting mix or planting. No more stooping or backache! The only drawback was the cost but will be worth it in the long run.

I have the 2 x 4 elevated cedar planter and thought the medium VegTrug would be a perfect complement.
The installation is a horror. Even if you watch the video (highly recommended) it's impossible (at least for me) to put it together perfectly. There are pre-drilled holes which help somewhat, but there are no corresponding holes. Consequently, you don't really know if you are putting the screw to the correct place.
I have yet to put the remainder of the screws in place, and haven't added any dirt yet. The wood seems thin and fragile and I hope it stands up to sun and weather.
You cannot move it readily. So once it's placed, it will stay.
I love Garderner's products, but this one, not so much.
If it wasn't so expensive to return, I would have.

Tried growing tomato plants in pots near the house. Keeping the plants hydrated was a problem in the hot sun. Hoping that the Trug will provide enough soil depth to eliminate this problem.
