Description
Why are supermarket raspberries so expensive? Not because they're hard to grow — in fact, they're remarkably easy — but because they have such a short shelf life. That's why the best raspberries are the ones you grow in your own backyard and pick at the peak of ripeness. Our cedar Raspberry Bed is 8' L x 2' W x 7" H and holds five plants. It includes an integrated support system with heavy-gauge plastic monofilament line and special tensioners to keep rambling raspberry plants contained and upright. Specifications

Cons Best Uses Comments about Raspberry Bed: Daughter has wanted raspberries but I was concerned about them spreading all over the place. This should keep them contained nicely. Pros

Comments about Raspberry Bed: I really like the design of this bed. In the past i've had to 'make my own' for my berry beds. This takes all the measuring and cutting out of your hands and it is SO easy to assemble. Pros

Comments about Raspberry Bed: I put these together by myself with no problem (female, 60). Put two together for asparagus beds. Just wish that there was a mesh cover made to this size. Comments about Raspberry Bed: It should be twice as wide because it really holds 3 plants. Constraint system for vines is excellent Pros

Comments about Raspberry Bed: I moved into Arkansas last December, and plan to re-create many of the garden plants that I grew successfully in Virginia for over 25 years. Thanks for helping me get started with the raised raspberry bed. Pros

Comments about Raspberry Bed: [...] Seriously heavy. Good quality cedar planks. I did not treat them so it will be interesting to see how they weather here in the northeast.Putting it together was simple - lay it out, screw on the brackets and piece together. I would have appreciated pilot holes predrilled but not a big deal.I transplanted wild raspberries from a patch in the back of my yard, so we'll see how well they do - they certainly are sending out plenty of shoots.
