Description
Grow plants at an easy working height in this unique patio garden; no bending or kneeling to plant, tend and harvest. The elevated bed means no weeds and fewer pests, too. The V-shape makes efficient use of space and planting mix — grow deep-rooted plants like tomatoes in the center, shallow-rooted crops like salad greens along the edges. Includes a fitted fabric liner to keep soil contained while letting excess water drain. Plastic feet protect wood from wet surfaces. Quality construction and easy assembly. Specifications

Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: I am fortunate to have a very handy husband (both of us are 70). I needed something with good capacity since I have had 5 surgeries on my left leg including hip replacement in the past year. Still not back to full mobility. My husband assembled both trugs on our living room deck, after treating the wood in advance. One trug already has us overrun with radishes, lots of bunching onions, carrots, tomatoes, basil, beets, chard. To have so many items in one spot is great. All are growing very well. Pros

Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: I wrote to the company about the fact that the deminsions were not in the directions. I really think this is important so you can plan the area. I also wrote to the company about my concern with the drainage. It did not say anything in the directions or the video if the liner will help me toward the importance of drainage. I think I am going to have fun with this product. It was a gift at Xmas and I did not start working with it until this spring. It really looks 'cool'. I have the cover for early starts for next year. I can't wait to see the production of my Heirloom Tomatoes! I did paint a permanent protective material on the wood to avoid yearly maintenince. I think this would be a great selling point if the company did this for you! Again, I think I will have a lot of fun with my special gift from my wife! Pros

Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: I was so pleased when I saw this item for sale online, so I bought it. I live in Arizona and it is really hard to grow vegetables like tomatoes. The soil is thin and about 5 inches down you hit a rock like structure called "caliche". So this seemed like a perfect way to grow some tomatoes and other vegetables and not have to bend down or wrangle with the non-existent soil! Pros

Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: The garden itself is really great--especially for those unable to bend for whatever reason. Quite sturdy and attractive. Pros

Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: This is a fantastic concept. I have chronic pain and the kneeling, hunched over gardening was so painful. Now I can stand or sit. But there's very little maintenance anyways. The soil is whatever you put in (not ground soil)so very little pest issues. No need to till. Very happy I got the larger size. The smaller one would be too small for a decent size garden. I have basil, cilantro, rosemary, 2 pepper plants, 3 tomato plants, 2 cucumber plants growing up a trellis I attached to the back that leans on a fence. I LOVE my veg trug! Pros

Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: this survey should be given at end of growing season. as of now all i've done is put it together (which is very easy) and fill it with soil. i'm waiting for weather to warm up before I plant anything. Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: Filled the bottom 2/3 with coconut fiber so I would not need to buy as much soil. So far my tomatoes are growing better then ones in the ground. I am using a system I learned years ago called square foot gardening and it is working well so far. Doing much better then the hanging baskets I tried last year. Plan to get another in the near future. Pros

Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: Got this to replace some raised beds. Love the height! No more bending to weed. It was a little harder to assemble than the video leads you to believe. Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Vegtrug™ Patio Garden: Very disappointed. I tried to post pics of how badly the wood was split. Not worth the price. Displaying reviews 1-10 Previous | Next » How-To
