I have two of these on the side of my house where I grow tomatoes, eggplant and beans. They work very well and were easy to assemble.

Comments about : Grow Bed, 3' x 3':

I have purchased a total of 9 of these beds and I just love how easy they are to put together. But the main reason I continue to buy from Gardner's Supply is that they not only have great products, but they have the most incredible Customer Service

Fast and easy setup, very durable. Already have the larger grow bed and it's lasted for years. Much better results when I use grow beds for vegetables and herbs.

Collecting them!

Comments about : Grow Bed, 3' x 3':

I started with three 3x3 grow beds. Last year, I added an addition two. This year, I added two more. I have a total of seven now.

They are the absolute easiest way to start a veggie garden. I put newspaper under the box and landscape fabric (inside the box) across any gaps between the ground and the box. Then, I pour the dirt in. Fifteen minutes later, I am ready to plant!

Have several of these in the yard - very durable and just the right size to tuck into small spaces. Easy to assemble.

Soil requirements given are wrong (too high).

        • Easy To Use

        Cons

        • Maybe the initial cost outlay.

        Best Uses

        • Over a lawn without double digging!

        Comments about : Grow Bed, 3' x 3':

The soil needed, as given by Gardeners Supply, is wrong. The beds are only 10" deep, therefore if you filled them to the EDGE, the requirements would be:
        3'x6': 15 cu.ft.
        3'x3': 7.5 cu.ft.
        3'x18": < 4cu.ft.

If, however, you fill them to 8" deep -- which is aesthetically pleasing, saves dirt from washing over the edge, and allows for top dressing or mulching -- you will need:
        3'x6': 12 cu.ft.
        3'x3': 6 cu.ft.
        3'x18": 3 cu.ft.

That said, we just assembled and planted our second of two 3x6 GroBeds. Easy, although you will need a light-duty drill and a straight-blade screwdrivers to attach the panels that keep the long-sides straight; we also used a mallet to pound in the corner pins. We are seniors and fairly lazy (weekend gardeners) -- we put them right over crab-grass lawn. Recommendations:
        (1) Measure the diagonals -- if they aren't equal, your bed is not "square". For the 3'x6', the measurement was about 84".
        (2) GET THE BED LINERS -- don't know why the suggestion doesn't even come up when you buy, until after you have ordered! If you're paying for "dirt" or like us, soil-less planting mix, you don't want it washing out the bottom. Think about whether you'll want GS trellis(es) as well.
        (3) Tape the liner to the sides before adding the soil. You're welcome! Masking tape will do, duct tape is not needed -- but if that's what you have, use small pieces, it's nearly too sticky. Remove tape as soon as bed is filled.
        (4) Don't over-estimate the plants you need. We put four heirloom tomatoes in one bed (with room toward the sun for some herbs) -- 6 weeks later they are a mass of green -- three would have been enough. Today I put four cucumbers and two crookneck squash in the second bed; hope the trellises come quickly before they get too big! This will probably turn out to be too many plants as well, but the cucumbers were in a six pack... Next year, Japanese eggplants!
