Drought-Proof Crystals Protect Plants for 5 Years

  • Reduce watering chores and ensure plants get the water they need, when they need it
  • Protect valuable landscape plants the way that pros do
  • Also highly effective for container-grown plants
  • Works for five years, then breaks down into fertilizer, not salt

Commercial landscapers rely on Terra-Sorb to protect plants in heat-stressed, drought-prone situations such as city parks and traffic medians. These non-toxic crystals absorb up to 200 times their weight in water, then release it gradually as plants need it. And because it contains potassium-based polymers instead of sodium-based, it breaks down into fertilizer instead of soil-damaging salts.

  • Mix in 1 pound per 100 square feet in the garden; 1 teaspoon per dry gallon of soil in containers
  • Super-absorbent hydrogel (potassium-based polymers)

    Comments about Terra-Sorb:

I use Terra-Sorb when I pot all of my outdoor plants. it really helps the pots retain moisture, even in full sun, and tremendously reduces the frequency of watering. I also use this in my reservoir hanging planters, and I have very healthy plants.

              Comments about Terra-Sorb:

I add this product to all my potted plants. I live in a very hot climate, and this keeps the moisture level even and reduces the time I spend watering. I also add it to the hole before I plant caladiums, since they love moisture and when the temperature hits over 100, its not easy to keep things moist. I buy the large container and it lasts me for two years, even though I have many pots and flower beds.

                  Comments about Terra-Sorb:

*My best hint for using these crystals is to SOAK THEM FIRST! I keep a bucket with a lid for these - put in a few maybe 1/4 cup and fill the bucket half full or more with water and let them expand until they look like big clear ice (amazing how much they soak up) - before I mix them into my potting soil. So I never get too much volume which might overflow the pot.*
These crystals are fabulous for sunny patio pots and hanging baskets that were impossible to keep watered in the hot Colorado summer sun. I love annual gardens and plant about a dozen pots every year. Later in the summer, when the plants are fully grown and the sun is at it's hottest, even watering twice a day couldn't prevent wilting and drying. But now, with these crystals once a day is usually enough to keep my pots in perfect lush condition - even my driest and most difficult huge clay pot! Now with Terra-Sorb ...Success! Love that they break down into safe fertilizer also!

Helpful for garden flowers that get water, and then don't. Or houseplants on their own for awhile. If uncertain how much to use, test a few grains in tablespoon of water, wait short while.
