This is my third ratchet cutter, I sent in the old pair and [$]. plus the old pair to get a guaranteed new pair, never received the new pair, and finally gave up and bought a new pair. My Husband liked them so much, I ordered a pair for him.I love to prune my small bushes with the pruners. It works gerat, doesn't hurt my arthritis-ravaged hands.

Best pruners I've used thus far. Sharp blade, easy to grip. Clean cut every time. And last but not least, lifetime warranty. Just doesn't get any better than that. these things broke after only a few uses. also the ratchet action only engages when it's opened all the way, which makes it hard for me (a small handed woman) to use.

At first it seemed like they were going to be flimsy but so far they have worked just fine. I really like how lightweight they are. I have not yet tried to cut anything very thick with them. They do make a bit of noise when you use them due to the ratchet mechanism.

Have used one for years for all around trimming, etc. The ratchet action makes it so easy for someone with less strength in their hand to use. Mine was starting to get somewhat "sprung out" from overuse! So glad I was able to find this tool again.

I bought these to replace ones that were lost when I moved.

I could actually cut through branches a little thicker than the jaw openings by twisting the cutters around the limb until it was in far enough to cut. The ratcheting action easily cuts through anything.

At first glance, it appears to be made of plastic (i.e. cheap, low quality), but it has proved itself time and again. Large branches of almost 1 inch are easliy cut, then the branch nibbled down to fit in the trash.

I used these for many years when I owned a house. Never did they let me down in any way.

Yes, they cost a little more then regular pruners. But to so easily cut through thick branches, other pruners can simply not do the job. And if your strength has lessened over the years, even the woody part of a bush can be difficult to cut. Not with these.

Yes, go for it.

I bought my mom 2 of these at a the Orange County Fair in CA. She has used these for the past 6 years and can't live without them. I have used these shears to trim her entire back yard on a monthly basis. This tool is very well engineered and designed. It has a pleasant ratchet sound when cutting larger branches. If I didn't have this tool, I would have to use a lopper to cut the larger branches.

The only problem is that we have lifetime sharpening from the vendor at the OC Fair and the fair is only open part of the year. So the window of opportunity to sharpen these blades is very short. I'm buying another one now so mom can have sharp blades.

I orginally purchased Florian about 18 yrs ago @ county fair & loved them, still use them & when I saw this same one in Gardners Supply thought an extra pair would fit the bill as I work many areas of my grounds. They are the best & I even use them for cutting up small branch kindling for winter. Can't be beat!

I bought these at the Santa Clara county fair in 1992 in San Jose, Ca.. They have worked great since then.. Even when used like they are not supposed to be used! These are the best pruning shears I have ever owned....

Really like the weight and balance of the pruners...much lighter than less costly ones I have used; and do a better, cleaner cut too.
Have only used them about a month, but am hoping the advertised quality holds up and I get years of use from them.

Once your get started you just want to keep going and redesign your entire garden! It is quite easy to use, however you need to give it a few tries before you get the hang of it.

Ratchet must be one of those words guys use so we don't realize the power is all in the tool. It is so easy to make it keep going through something I would have thought was too big for hand clippers. Plus it is so light I take it backpacking, where every ounce really matters. I think it's the best Mother's day gift I ever got.

This is the 4th pair I have owned - the last one was accidentally tossed out with the clippings.:-(
I live in a gated community and have a small yard, but delight in volunteering to groom neighbor's shrubs and small trees, too.
As a senior with some arthritis, this tool is especially user friendly. I even take them with me to NJ (from WA) to work in my daughter's family's yard. Wouldn't be without them!

This is the best pruner for women. It has a nice small size, yet gives you a good grip and allows you to cut tough branches. I have gone through a few of these over the years -- I get a little aggressive sometimes and try to cut branches way bigger than I should! But this is still a pretty tough pruner.

I would reccomend these pruners for everyone, young and old. I had a pair that lasted about 8 years and was lucky to see them in your catalog because I had forgotten where I purchased them. Anyone with wrist or hand problems should use them.

This pruner is amazing! I have arthritis in my hands and without the rachet pruner I have great difficulty cutting even small branches. With this product everything cuts like butter does with a hot knife! The bright yellow color keeps the pruners visible, and for someone like me(where did I put that?) this is very helpful.

I love these pruners! I bought my first Florian ratchet-cut pruners at a home show years ago (at least 15) and I use it for trimming everything from delicate flower deadheading to pruning 1/2' lilac branches. I was thrilled when I saw Gardners Supply started to carry this product because I wanted another pair! I'd even buy an extra pair to give as a gift. They have just really lasted and stood the test of time and abuse I have put them through (I am negligent in the maintenance department) The ratchet mechanism makes pruning even thicker branches so easy. I have just purchased a new pair and use it for the more delicate trimming where sharpness is important - but i still use the old ones too for chopping up compost materials until they break or give out!
