    Comments about Powergear Pruners:

I used this product one time and it cut like butter....but then it stopped opening and I had to manually open it each time I wanted to cut something. Too much manual work for these arthritic hands! I cleaned it and still would not open. I returned it and was very disappointed it did not hold up.

    Comments about Powergear Pruners:

This product has gotten quite a bit of use. I've used it in my very large yard and in others and done many tasks with it. The blade has gone dull quickly and has fallen apart in the middle of a job. Not very dependable but I like the purpose of the handle for people who get arthiritis. I continued to use it until today when it fell apart again. This time not fixable. It's good for the small gardener however.

This pruner is excellent for general garden pruning. I use it for pruning bushes and garden plants. It works especially well for those who may have some arthritis in the thumb joint. The extra power this pruner gives the user does not put undue stress on this joint.

    Comments about Powergear Pruners:

I have small hands and not a lot of strength, and this tool allows me to do many things I would have otherwise had to bother my husband with. I like how the handle rolls as you squeeze. It is very comfortable and does the job.

The only con was--the first day I used them I evidently got into some poison oak.

    Comments about Powergear Pruners:

These are great for everything! I used them to trim down a trumpet vine that was about 1" thick with one sqeeze of the handle! With my old pruners I would have to start cutting on one side of the branch, move around and start cuting on the other side, trying to meet in the middle. These do not stress your arm or hand, cut the branch in just one squeeze! I will never buy any other pruner!

    Almost great.
By JudeVerified Purchaser from Las Cruces, New Mexico on 5/27/2009
    Pros:
Easy To Use, Lightweight, Sharp Blade
    Cons:
    Not ideal for small hands
    Best Uses:

    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    Comments about Powergear Pruners:

Blades are sharp. Grip is comfortable, though a bit too large for my hand. Pruners cut small branches easily. The jaw size combined with the rotation allows me to cut thicker diameters and tougher wood that I can with most other one-handed pruners. I do a lot of pruning of woody shrubs and small trees, so find these pruners a help.

    Nice Design but Flimsy
By TwiglessVerified Reviewer from Houston, TX on 5/17/2009

    Flimsy, Unrepairable
    Best Uses:

    Bottom Line:

    Comments about Powergear Pruners:

For the price I expected more durability. After using these on bush trimming (branch size 1/8" or less) the blades seperated permanently. Due to the permananent pivot connection they cannot be repaired. Had to throw them away.

These pruners are very, very lightweight. The grip is super comfortable and they are very easy to flex for cutting. Using them is really effortless, even for hands that are 50+ years young. I spent three hours cutting back 35' of lavendar and pruning a large rose bush with no stiffness or soreness. If you need one good hand tool, buy these.
