I bought my first set of these over 5 years ago, they are still in great shape with no breakage. I gave a set to my Mom for Christmas (sounds strange but she loves them!). They are silly looking and feel funny but they generate a lot of comments and all positive ones. Great product. We have an acre of mostly hardwoods and it usually takes soooo long to get all the leaves. It took no time at all to fill my large container and I spent more time dragging the container to the fire pit than I did filling it. Also, I was able to get the leaves off the top of my mulch without grabbing the mulch. Like other reviewers I needed to wear gloves to improve the fit but I have small hands. They work fine for my husband without gloves.

Moving piles of leaves is so much faster now. My husband insists that a rake and a hand are effective at moving leaves, but I find that combination cumbersome and inefficient. I've been asking for these leaf scoops for years to no avail. I finally ordered them for myself and have been very pleased. Moving the mountains of leaves generated by our trees is so much faster and easier with them. While the grip is comfortable and they are easy to put on, I do have one gripe. The plastic bar at the top rubs against the bone on my wrist, making it sore. Wearing gloves could eliminate this problem.

For short people who are also older (aches and pains in arms and shoulders), the leaf scoops are just the right tool to use for leaf removal. They are light and can pick up lots of leaves without having them scatter while being transferred to a trash bag. A minor inconvenience is having to wear gloves to add a cushion to the edges of the hand opening. Otherwise, they beat a rake and a dustpan any day.

These grips collect far more leaves than I could grab with my bare hands. In addition, they are lightweight and durable. The only downside is that the hand-hold is slightly uncomfortable, and becomes more so after 20-30 minutes. But I will still keep using them when raking and collecting leaves.

A mega-rake may get more leaves at a time, but you can't top LEAF SCOOPS for cleanly picking up piles of vines, cut grass, and ESPECIALLY unusable fruit that collects under apple and pear trees and the like. The only improvement I'd suggest is a longer, more curved lip and/or some padding to the part that fits over your wrists. I, too, will be providing my own solution to the big bruises that come with prolonged use. Otherwise, they're GREAT! Think I'll buy a back-up set.
