Located in: Yard & Landscaping, Yard Tools & Carts, Garden Carts

For 25 years, our garden carts have been a beloved tool of gardeners everywhere. That’s because they were designed specifically to meet the needs of gardeners, not adapted from an industrial "utility cart". The big wheels with pneumatic tires roll easily over rough terrain. High sides prevent loose loads like mulch and compost from bouncing out. The axle is positioned to distribute the weight and balance the load. The long handle lets you push or pull with equal ease and has a comfortable neoprene grip. Once you own one of our carts, it’s hard to imagine getting by without it. In fact, many of the original carts are still out there, working hard.

 • Rated "Excellent" by a leading consumer magazine
 • Holds up to 500 pounds — as much as 10 wheelbarrows!
 • Tough, rust-proof aluminum frame
 • All-terrain wheels with ball-bearing axles
 • Balanced for maximum leverage
 • Faster shipping is not available for this item
 • Sorry, no shipments to AK, HI, PR or VI
 • This oversize item has a $10 additional shipping charge each

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

I was apprehensive about assembly due to other posted comments about the difficulty; however, if you go slow and STUDY the diagrams, in conjunction with the written text, it goes pretty well. The instructions should be revised to include more detail about individual segment assembly. A few more details would be helpful. The cart is sturdy, well constructed, and big enough to save me a lot of extra trips from one end of my 2+ acres to the other. It is worth the patience needed to assemble it! Wish I'd purchased it years ago!

This is not my first garden cart. My previous one lasted for years. I really like how easy to use it is and how much you can put in it. It wasn't as difficult to assemble as I thought it might be after reading some of the reviews. I was glad to have my son's help.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

The T-nuts protruding from the bottom make shoveling difficult.
Bending the leg assemblies during construction was difficult for two 60-year-old, required use of ratchet straps.
I worry about long-term durability of foam grips.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

I have lusted over this garden cart for over 30 years and finally bit the bullet and ordered it. Why did I wait so long? My advice to the "getting started" gardners, order it now and enjoy it now. My grandchildren have already put their name on it. I'm sure it will be going, and going, and going, long after I'm gone!

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

When I asked about putting this together, I was told that there was some putting together. NOT TRUE! There are many pieces, and quite frankly we have not succeeded thus far, and we have had it for about 3 weeks. I hope to take it out one more time and give it a go, but if I can't figure it out, I will have to take apart what we have done and send it back. I am sure it is an excellent product once it is together, but I amy not have the pleasure of experiencing that.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

I WAITED UNTIL SPRING TO COMMENT SINCE NOT USED DURING THE WINTER.VERY DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLE EVEN THOUGH I PURCHASED TWO THE SECOND WAS STILL HARD. THE RUBBER PIECE WHICH PROTECTS THE TUBE FROM THE SPOKES WAS INSTALLED WRONG AND THE SPOKES PIERCED THE TUBE IN SEVERAL PLACES. NEW TUBE AND INSTALLATION COST $18. I SHOULD HAVE PURCHASED THE SMALLER CART SINCE THE LARGE CART IS TOO HEAVY FOR MY WIFE TO PUSH UP HILL. IF LAND WAS FLAT IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

This is a great cart and it's my second. You can carry anything with this cart without breaking your back. On the downside, the assembly instructions are difficult due to an uncertainty of where to put the T-nuts. The instructions are unclear because there are a couple of places where the T-nuts don't go and it's like a treasure hunt find out where.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

I use garden carts to carry hay and shavings to my barn, and to carry the manure away from my barn. I use the cart to carry whatever needs carrying. I would never own a wheelbarrel after using your garden cart. I bought my first garden cart 20 years ago and have not looked back.I am now on my fourth cart. I use one every day, morning and night, sun, rain, or snow and ice.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

Removable end panel allows carrying long loads and dumping.
Fastening cardboard to both sides of the steel U-chanel would prevent wearing of the paint during shipping. Deburring of that part would improve paint coverage. I would like to see a thrust washer between the wheels and the frame of the cart

So far, I mainly use this to carry my haybales to my horses out in the pasture. Really saves my back!!I rolls great...hope it will continue to get through snow and possibly mud this Spring!
If I had to ask for something ...I wish it was just a bit higher on the sides to support more bales. It's just small enough in width to go through my doorways...thank goodness!

Bad semipnumatic tires
By DonVerified Reviewer from Wilmington, Delaware on 10/30/2008
Pros:
Carrying Capacity, Comfortable Grips, Easy to Use, Supports Heavy Weights
Best Uses:
Carrying Other Equipment, Firewood, Leaves & Brush, Mulch

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

I have also had the semipnumatic tires roll off.
I had an original gardenway cart with full pnumatic tires for 20 years and never had a problem. I like the removable front gate on this one and the aluminum frame, but I'm disapointed with the wheels. I will have to look somewhere for full pnumatic wheels.

By LindaVerified Purchaser from Willow Park, Tx. on 10/3/2008
Pros:
Carrying Capacity, Comfortable Grips
Best Uses:
Gardening, Leaves & Brush, Mulch
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

I use the cart a lot for big jobs in the yard. I don't like the lower handle/bar. It's easier to pick up to pull and put down when you don't have to bend over so far to grab the handle. (I notice the smaller cart is configured that way)
Also, after assembled I notice the back end sliding panel does not go all the way down, allowing some dirt, leaves, etc. to fall out. The reason it doesn't lower completely is because of the position of the screws.

Semi-pneumatic Tires are a Joke
By Don'tlikenicknamesVerified Purchaser from Ramsey, NJ on 9/2/2008
Pros:
Comfortable Grips, Easy Assembly, Easy to Use
Cons:
Breaks
Describe Yourself:
Avid Gardener
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

The semi-pneumatic tires collapsed on the first day of use. I don't know if I exceeded the 500 lb capacity or not (didn't weigh it), but I'm not that incredibly strong, so I'd be surprised if it weighed that much more. The tires just squashed and rolled right off the rim - useless. I bought the pneumatic tires direct from another company since Gardener's Supply doesn't seem to offer replacement parts. I plan on pursuing this with GS but I got this questionnaire so I figured I'd deal with this first.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

I love how easy and light weight the cart is and how easy to manuver. As you can see from the Best Uses, I use it in a variety of ways, but the ways I use it most are related to gardening and landscaping. I'm especially looking forward to using it for harvesting my pumpkins and squash since that garden is located a longer distance away from where I'll be storing them. It was not fun to haul them in a wheel-barrow in the past. I love the cart!

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

We received this cart as a wedding gift (!) 16 years ago and it's still going strong. It has seen very heavy use over the years, and has hauled brush, wood, gravel, cement, sand, mulch, dogs, kids, and other things too numerous to recall. This cart has taken everything we could throw at it, literally. It's been a life- and back-saver for us. I highly recommend this cart. It's even been stored outdoors for the past 7 winters and shows no ill-affects from it.

Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

We have the medium cart which is terrific. This one is heavy and the conctruction is less than desirable. The cart is not precisely square so the joints don't fit right and the holes did not align exactly for assembly. The front panel is difficult to slide up and down and does not close completely. We would like to have a rear panel, like the front one so the cart could be a box.

Comments about Large Gardener's Supply Cart:

I own 2 of these carts: one medium and one large. Love them! I've owned the medium cart for 5 years and it still is very functional. The best part is the huge wheels that enable the cart to roll over uneven ground, small logs, rocks, etc. These carts are invaluable for the serious gardener.
