Thanks to its center-mounted wheels, this rugged garden cart is stable and easy to maneuver, even when hauling loads up to 300 lbs. Its unique design allows the front to tip all the way to the ground while the wheels stay put — that means you can scoop heavy stones or logs into the cart instead of lifting them. The polyethylene "tub" is great for mixing wet soil or cement, will never rust, and rinses clean in a jiffy.
Please note: This popular Vermont-made product is currently on backorder and is expected to ship in approximately four weeks.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I got this cart to make my backyard gardening tasks easier, and it's terrific! It makes carrying flats of plants and flowers, or bags of heavy potting soil a breeze. I love the feel of the tires - very smooth ride. And it's easy to tip and dump garbage at the end of my planting sessions. SO happy to have this new tool!

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
In over 50 years of gardening, this is the very best cart I have ever had! The big wheels seem to make all the difference in ease of movement. It feels so light, yet holds any heavy load and is so very stable. I am very glad I got the cover for it, also. When it is time to stop for the day, I just flip it on without having to empty it for fear of rain in the night.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I haven't had it long enough to explore all its uses but so far it has helped me accomplish tasks that would have been difficult if not impossible for me to accomplish because of my arthritic hip.I have been able to bring heavy lawn bags to the curb for pickup, load it with debris left in the yard after a tough winter and mix soil for container plants. What more could one ask of a garden cart?

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
This is better than a traditional wheelbarrow because it has two wheels. It never tries to tip, as a regular wheelbarrow does! Also, the wheels are large and taller than old fashioned wheelbarrows, so it is easier to go over bumpy or muddy ground. The front never hits the ground, either. The handle is comfortable, and you can hold it better because your your arms don't have to be so far apart (again as required by the way regular wheelbarrows have just poles that come straight out from the front). Finally, it is lightweight, so easier to dump.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Two days after inflating the tires to the tire pressure listed on the tire (40 psi) tires both went flat. Neither tire will hold air. Seems to be a defect in the tube or rim. [...] Did not expect to have problems on a [$] garden cart.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
This is the best wheelbarrow I've ever owned. It can be pulled or pushed using one hand freeing up other hand to carry other items. It is light weight and rolls and stores easily. My only regret is all the years I struggled with a regular wheelbarrow.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Compared with the carts at local retailers, maneuverability is the next best thing to someone else doing the work. Assembly would have been easier with 2 people, but not impossible for this arthritic old lady (a vice grip attached to the wrench was sufficient reach) .

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Very easy to assemble. Holds more weight than a traditional wheelbarrow and is safer to move and empty.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
After one season of use one of the tires is completely flat. My yard is relatively flat with no thorny brush/debris. The instructions for assembly were not clear as to weather the legs attached to the inside or outside taking more assembly time to redo errors. The cart was easy to use and great for mulch and hauling new plants to their destination. Very disappointed that after one year of light use I need to replace a tire.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Having had multiple back & neck surgerise in my 83 years, I needed a cart/barrow that was light weight, maneuverable and still sturdy. This fits the bill perfectly, and I'm buying a couple more for my daughter and son.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I haul 2 loads of shelled corn down to the
trumpeter swans, wood ducks, & geese at the pond
each morning.
I haul loads and loads of firewood also.
This cart is so versatile and lightweight.
This is my second cart. I have almost worn the
other one out after 8 years.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
My wife had recent knee surgury that made balancing a regular wheelbarrow somewhat difficult. The poly-tough cart is light and stable and makes gardening tasks much easier. Excellent product!

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
It is the size of the wheels that make it so easy to push. I slide a 50lb bag of product out of the back of my car into the wheelbarrow, take it to where I want to dump it and tip the wheelbarrow forward. Then I cut an an X the size of the bag with a box cutter and just pull the bag out from under the material and spread it out. I am talking about things like compost and other soil amendments. I am 69 and have had three shoulder surgeries. I never pick up a 50lb or bigger bag.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
This cart is really stable and light, so easy to pull or push uphill even with a load. It wasn't that hard to assemble, but forget the adjustable wrench in the directions. You need a 7/16 wrench and phillips screwdriver to get the bolts on tight -- socket wrench the best. Pliers only needed to turn down the cotter pin ends. Just after I got it put together and started using it, my husband snatched it for his work clearing up forest debris. So now I need another one for my garden work.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I bought this cart after I borrowed one from a friend. It was so easy to push, even when it was full, that I knew I had to have one just like it. I have been using mine for over a week now and it makes the chore of daily stall cleaning quick and easy. I now spend more time with my horse and less time straining my back pushing heavy, clunky carts. I highly recommend it. Thanks.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
We have used an Agri-Fab cart for years to haul Llama beans. This cart was purchased to replace it when necessary. But I got the red one and an h2o bag to use in it. So this will be my gardening cart until then. It is far superior to the Agri-Fab.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I take this around the yard with me when I'm pruning or planting. It carries lots of branches and/or fertilizer/mulch.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I use the cart mainly for flower gardening...hauling mulch, compost, tools, etc. Easy to maneuver.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I'm 62 but really just getting started gardening since I retired. At my age, good tools for moving heavy items are a must, especially since my property slopes down to the waters edge and there are stone steps on the side of the house. The tough poly cart has no trouble manuvering the steps and narrow pathways ( our front yard is all plants - now grass!) I expect this will be my favorite tool for a long time to come! My husband likes it, too - when I let him use it.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
My husband and I both use it for hauling new plants, mulch etc and it has saved us a lot of back problems. I'm sure we'll use it for many years.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I needed a new cart for my barn work. Love it!
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
We have a small horse farm and also use it to muck out stalls and carry feed. It has been an excellent choice!!
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I used to empty 30-40 bushels of weeds in the spring in heavy baskets. Since getting arthritis, lifting is a problem. Now I load the cart with weeds and dump from there.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
We received ours just a couple of weeks ago, so still getting accustomed to the carrier, but early indications are that it will be a nice addition to our gardening arsenal--highly recommend--it is a bit pricey but it measures up to paying a bit more. Enjoy
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
This is so much easier to use than a traditional wheel barrow. I love the big wheels, which make it easy to push or pull, and I love the way it can tip up 90 degrees.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
The cart itself is large; however, the tubular steel frame is not sturdy or steady, as indicated. The cart creaks and the bolts constantly come loose. It is way overpriced for the money. I called customer service to complain and the person that I talked to seemed disinterested in my feedback. I found this disappointing since I am a loyal, long-term customer who has always been satisfied with the service I received and the quality of products.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I truly love this product. I did NOT, however, enjoy assembling it. You really do need 2 people to make it easier and the instructions could be a little more clear. There aren't a lot of parts to be confusing, but figuring out where a part goes (ie: on the inside or outside of the frame) was not clear at all.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I've only owned this cart a short time, but already I love it! The only other two wheel cart I've seen was a big contractor's wheel barrow - too big and heavy! The two wheels make all the difference on uneven terrain - I'm not fighting gravity to keep the cart from falling over sideways when it is loaded. The big wheels also make it much easier to move over small curbs and stones.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
The cart was easy to assemble, seems reasonably sturdy, and is very comfortable to use. I would recomend this cart to a friend.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
There are similar carts available that are far better quality, design and construction at a fraction of the price!
While putting together the Gardener's Supply cart, I found that the tubular legs didn't attach solidly to the frame because they had an indentation at the site of the hole for the screw which kept it from laying flat against the frame. The legs also angled in at the bottom so it felt a little unsteady when loading. The wheels didn't fit tight on the axle so there was some slack that allowed them to move back and forth on the axle. I added washers to the screws for attaching the tub to the frame so that the screw heads didn't go through the holes that were obviously too big.
Not happy with this cart, I went to my local hardware store and found the same type of cart, but with a little bit bigger tub, made out of a slightly heavier plastic, as well as a sturdy frame and legs. Overall the cart is slightly heavier, probably only ounces, but the wheel base is the same size. It's twice the quality, and was on sale for 1/3rd the price (normal price is still less than half).
I have returned the Gardener's Supply cart and will be more careful with future purchases.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
This is my first "wheelsbarrow" as my husband calls it. Since getting older, I can't use the one wheel barrow anymore. This is very easy to wheel around, turning is a breeze. Great for these arthritic hands. Thank you.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Other devices nip at ankles when pulling behind. This one does not.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
So many gardening products are designed with large men in mind but this wheel barrow is just right for a short female. It's easy use with the big tires.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
We live on hilly land, & have tried other wheelbarrows/carts, but this one works so much better. It is much easier on our arthritic shoulders & knees when pushing a lot of weight uphill. The wheels don't cave under the weight. We had a lot of bricks to push up the hill, & it worked like a champ, unlike the traditional, which wobbled all over, then broke.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I purchased this cart just in time for fall cutting-back of my perennial border. The large wheels make it so much easier to pull and push than a regular wheelbarrow. I can pull or push easily with one hand. Easy to tip and empty. Holds plenty of cuttings; also lots of leaves. This cart has made my gardening tasks so much easier. I wish I had bought it years ago!

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Wheelbarrow is very stable and lightweight which makes it easy to use. I do have some problems with the plastic bed getting gouged with sharp tools, like a pitch fork when I use it to spread mulch.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Bought cart in 2008. Originally liked the cart, but in spring 2009, the rubber on one of the wheels cracked & fell off. Was able to purchase a replacement wheel, but just noticed that rubber on other wheel has cracked. Not sure that I want to continue to replace wheels each year. I'd expect the wheels to last for years. Seems like a defect.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I like this product and would recommend it. Light, well balanced and capable of hauling a lot of small stuff. Longer tree limbs and things that stick out of the cart, don't do as well. The only small negative to this product is it is a pain in the neck/knuckles to assemble. All in all, a good product at a good price that does a good job at what it was designed to do.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
The wide wheel base straddles the planting rows, making it easier to use than a wheel barrow in these types of areas.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I like this alternative to a heavy wheelbarrow. It doesn't hold quite as much, but that is an even trade for ease of movement -- I can fill it to the brim and still move it all around the yard. I wish it was more sturdy, I wonder if it might have problems in the future, but so far, so good!

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I love the large, two wheel construction. It is much easier for me to push than a wheelbarrow. However, as I expected, when I lifted bags of mulch into it, it tipped forward after two bags. It does better carrying material not in bags. I haven't tried firewood yet. Maybe I should have gotten one of the wagon type carts. But I like it and am glad I purchased it.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
This is stable and carries heavy loads. The only drawback is the tires, since goatheads can puncture them.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Our main complaint is that the 20" semi-pneumatic wheels/tires were inaccurately pictured in the catalog photo and description . The puncture proof factor is Very IMPORTANT here in prickly desert country. The same item in other catalogs was less expensive (with innertube tires), but, we ordered this from you, because of the wheels. The poly material is excellent, non-corrosive, easy clean, and excellent for our purposes.
You might add a heavy rubber tubing on the support legs to better protect the metal from dents and corrosion. Otherwise, we are very pleased with the product. Thanks
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
It is too wide for some of my garden pathways and steps especially when everything is in summer's full growth and bloom. I have retaining walls and stairs and pathways to negotiate. The wide wheelbase is probably essential to it's ease of use but I wish it was just a little narrower (or everthing else was a little wider). I love the red one!

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Like the red color. Large wheels makes it easier to carry large loads across yard. You can dump contents without straining yourself. (The cart I replaced with this cart was very hard to handle.) My son helped me put it together. We tightened the nuts as much as possible but after one use a support legs is loose. Needs better fasteners. It is also wider than expected. I have to open both doors on the shed. The second door is not easy to open. An inch or two narrower would solve the problem.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
We have a hilly garden & are not as young as we were. This cart has made life so much easier.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Somewhat difficult when dumping dirt.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
Performs to spec. Moved 280 lb. loads of pavers with no trouble at all. Pull the cart behind you and it almost feels like it's not there! Wheels are super nice on rough ground and axle is built to last. I looked for a cart like this for over a year. I'd recommend this one for any yard type use, even handy for remodeling and light construction.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I've had my Tough Cart for several years, and I love its versatility and durability. Aside from its many obvious uses, it's also a handy moveable work table, thanks to its two-wheel design and sturdy construction; I put a big piece of plywood over the tub and I'm able to sand wood, put plants in pots, etc., outdoors rather than in my garage/workshop.In fact, I've found the cart so versatile, I decided I needed a second one. But rather than purchase another Tough Cart, I got a cheaper version ([$]) from a major hardware retailer. It looked very similar to the Gardener's Supply cart, but I noticed some major quality differences as soon as I began to assemble it (flimsy frame, uneven legs, tires that refused to stay inflated, etc.). And in actual use, the less expensive cart wasn't up to Tough Cart tasks like hauling topsoil, and it tipped forward very easily, whereas my Tough Cart has always been stable and rock-solid. The Tough Cart is worth every penny! I returned the cheaper cart to the manufacturer and I ordered a second Tough Cart, which I expect will be a reliable workhorse around my yard for years to come.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I've had wheelbarrows where I have either gotten a flat tire or the bed has ended up rotting. This wheelbarrow has neither problem because the tires do not need inflating and the bowl is a tough plastic. I have mixed my secret soil formula in here like I'm using a salad bowl!

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I bought one of these about ten years ago, and ruined it last summer carrying stones. I was building a wall and the load probably weighed 400 pounds. In other words, I seriously abused it. Both tires went flat and came off the wheels. I had used it for everything, including smaller loads of stones, for ten years with no trouble. I immediately bought another one. In the few weeks I was without it, I was constantly wishing I had it. This is worth every penny. It's light, doesn't tip, and carries all kinds of things with ease.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I really wanted this cart, because I had not seen it anywhere locally. It was easy to assemble, but after a few trips carrying some soil, one of the wheel fasteners disappeared and the wheel fell off. I was able to repair with some thick wire, but was very disappointed with the quality of the product. Then when I went to Lowes, I saw a larger, and less expensive version. I would have bought the Lowes version if I had seen it first.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I love this cart! It is so well balanced that I can move really heavy loads quite easily. The only problem I saw was the bolts that secure the Poly-tough tray to the frame have such small heads that they would pull through the tray if put under heavy strain. I put washers between the heads and the tray and solved that problem so I've had no complaints since. The padded handle is great. No more splinters for me.
Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I USED THE CART TO MOVE TOP SOIL AND GRAVEL.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
I have owned my poly-tough cart for several years and it is still going strong. Gone are the bruises on my legs from walking into the handles or the wheel mechanism of a standard wheel barrel while gardening. With the two wheels of the poly-tough cart, I am able to handle larger loads of compost and mulch. I would never go back to a standard wheel barrel.

Comments about Poly-Tough Cart:
This cart replaces a wheelbarrow for me - 2 wheels makes it more stable for me to move things around my yard. Just load it up & either pull or push it along! I LOVE IT. This is the 2nd cart I've bought (wore the first one completely out) & will ALWAYS keep one of these in my shed!
