For a fraction of the cost of a permanent screen door, this self-closing, Hands-Free Bug Screen will keep bugs out of the house all summer. Its quality is far superior to other models, with tough, fine-weave fiberglass mesh that keeps bugs out, while allowing kids, pets and cool breezes through.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This was very easy to install and it is a relatively inexpensive alternative to installing a screen door to my balcony. My little dog comes in and out through it and it closes itself up just as it should.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The dogs can let themselves in or out and the flies stay out, for the most part. We have 5 horses in the backyard so flies in the house were a problem before using the bug screen. Liked it so much got another for another door!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This is the perfect solution if you don't want a permanent screen door. We put this up on our front door to create a cross breeze. A permanent screen door would change the appearance of our entry too much. When the weather is mild & we want the windows & doors open, we can just put this up and have that wonderful, open, airy feeling! Good idea.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I purchased my screen earlier this summer and I have been very delighted with it. I wanted something that would keep flies out of the mud room where I feed my animals but would let my animals come and go at will. It has been everything that I hoped. My animals (dog and cat) needed a little help getting used to the opening in the middle, the cat got the idea sooner than the dog, (I helped a little by proping the screen open at the bottom at first) and now--in September--they both navigate it freely. It has kept the flies out, allowing me to have the door open on nice days without flies.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We have hard wood flooring in the kitchen and didn't want to install something permanent. All of our doors open outward so this is the perfect solution for us. I will order some more for use with our living room french doors because we have bamboo floors there,
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
great screen for my upstairs deck. i didn't want to install a screen door, so when i saw the screen in gardener's supply, i thought i'd give it a try. the only thing is that there isn't a tight seal on the bottom so bugs can still enter.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Keeps bugs out and stays in place. Works better than a screen door.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
really lets you move from inside to outside very easily and vice versa.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This screen is great for areas where you can't fit a screen door. It installs quickly and easily. The magnetic closure makes the two sides together. The only problem is the wind coming through sometimes lets bugs in at the bottom
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I ordered the screen and it has worked extremely well. I am in a rental house and couldn't put in a dog door for my pooch who is in and out of the yard during the summer. The screen has cut down the nasty flies that had been making my house their home when I would leave the door open for my dog's access. Thanks for the product.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I really liked the idea of the product, but found it did not work. The screen part was great and fit well. However, the headrail did not fit securely in the doorway and would fall and hit you on the head. Unfortunately, I've had to return this product.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I love having a seasonal screen door that my dog can come and go as she pleases. It is also so transparent that you don't even notice it. My only complaint is that when you go in or out the two sides move into opposite positions so the magnets don't connect. Perhaps there could be magnets on both sides of the screens.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
no complaints; worked well at a a big party with our guests going in and out of the house. As with everything in the catelogue, simple concept[...]
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I bought this to replace an old broken screen door on an old sliding glass door. It's cheaper than replacing the sliding glass door right now. It works great, fresh air and no bugs.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Great idea. Could use some tweaking. The screen needs to be checked to make sure it closes. Also slightly awkward opening when your hands are full.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This works to keep the bugs out. But, it's kind of a pain to go in and out of. Easy to install, though.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The screen was so easy to install. I had extra velcro on hand so I can move it from one door to another. A great idea for those of us who do not have regular screen doors.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The problem with the screen door is that the stiff bottom of the screen prevents it from fitting properly at the bottom of the door.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The screen was easy to install. It keeps most flying insects out and allows my dogs to go in and out without me opening the door all the time. It is well designed.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Let's the fresh air in without the bugs.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We put this up so we could give the dog the freedom to come and go and keep the bugs out. It's been very effective. The magnets keep the screen closed without having to slide a door, and the dog doesn't paw it, shredding the screening. At night when the lights are on, the bugs do find their way in, but its much better than previously.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This is good in that it is easy to walk through and the dogs (5 dachshunds) can go through it when the want to go out (we have the invisible fence and leave their collars on during the day, so when we are home, we let them go in/out, as they choose).
When we first put it up they had some issues with getting back in (I would suggest some training/assistance until they get used to it). One of my dachshunds thought she couldn't get back in, so she clawed on the side of it and it did rip.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
It was easy to install and I thought it would work great. However, it is about 1-2 inches too long so it never closes properly (if it can; I'm not so sure). There is no way to adjust it so it's useless. I'm very disappointed.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I can leave my back door open without worry about flies coming into my kitchen. It is really nice to be able to get the breeze without the flies. The dogs go freely in and out without having to whine or scratch at the door for someone to open it.
The only negative comment is that it is sometimes awkward to get through if one has an armload, such as a tray of food for the patio. My suggestion is to have a small loops about halfway up along both sides so that the screen could be hooked back away from the doorway when going in and out with those picnic trays.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Our dogs love being able to come and go as they please. The only problem is that sometimes the magnetic tabs catch our metal door as the dogs go through and then does not close all the way.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I'd procrastinated on buying one of these because I was skeptical, but finally did this year. It was well worth it even if I wish it had more magnets for better closure. Still...it works well enough to be worth the price.
Also, some of the velcro was white which was unsightly. We substituted our own black for a nicer look.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I have been looking for something to keep the insects out of our house when we have the door to our top floor deck open, but because of the style of doorway, had been told that only an EXPENSIVE, custom screen door would do.
This screen from Gardener's fit perfectly, went up in minutes, has a low profile appearance, allows our pets easy access (still) to the deck and KEEPS ALL THE INSECTS OUT!
How wonderful and for such a reasonable price.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I like this as our dog can go in and out by himself now., but it would be better if there was one more magnet 1/3 up higher
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Moved into a great house, with a kitchen that has sliding doors leading to a wonderful balcony. However, the area is full of mosquitoes and the door had no screen; we were not able to find a replacement screen anywhere for the last 3 yrs. This item fits and works perfectly, super-easy to install, and keeps the rest of the house bug-free.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We now have two hands-free bug screens & both the humans & animals in our lives love using them. They really work!!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
While this will not keep 100% of the bugs out of your house it is a decent compromise between a conventional screen door and just leaving the door wide open with no screening at all!
I had to make a custom jig from wood and rare earth magnets to effectively mount it to a sliding door, so the maker might want to develop a mounting system for sliders...
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Needed something fast for the kitchen door even though we have a disappearing sreen door on it. I wanted something for a party that people didn't have to constantly open and close. This went up in a hurry and worked perfect.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The jury is still out on this screen. It was easy to install, took only a few minutes. The downside is that when you go through it, you have to make sure the magnets reconnect to keep the bugs from coming through the opening, which is why I rated it only 4 stars. I will keep and use and hope my dog and my husband will figure it out.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Seals well around the door once you adjust it. There are magnets at the bottom and 1/3 the way up.
Would be better if there was a magnet 2/3 way up as well, as the netting tends to sag and produce a gap between the netting around chest height. That being said, we are buying another one anyway, as they beat screen doors.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The Hands-Free Bug Screen was easy to install and we're enjoying the fresh air from the garage into the house. Also, our dog has "permission" to use it on occasion. Then he just lets himself in!!
After passing through, we sometimes need to adjust so that magnets meet, but once in place, the bugs stay outside! Thanks. Good product!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
It allows my dogs easy access to fenced back yard with out letting the bugs in.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The best and cheapest way to keep bugs out if you go in and out many times per day as I do! I was so tired of keeping the bugs out with my screen door! it is hands free,,,, and the best thing is my dogs can go in and out AND keep the bugs out! This is a WINNER!!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
After we put up the screen on our back door we had to get Dodge (our dog) to come in and out and now that it is up and he is use to it he comes and goes as he likes. Thank you for a great product!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I have had to replace the screen on these patio doors once or twice a year. The screen was so difficult to put back into its tracts. This is the first year I am not swatting flies all day long. YIPPEE!!!!!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Screen works great
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This product works very well. It's not a perminet installation and is flexable enough that my dogs can come and go through it.[...]
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Easy to install. Dogs learned to use it in 2 minutes. Saves me from constantly getting up to let them in or out.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The Bug Screen is most useful to allow my two mini-poodles access to the rear deck from the kitchen. It is made well, easy to install and performs as advertised. The magnets are a stroke of genius! Well worth the money. I congratulate the designer.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This is a great product. It keeps bugs out while allowing my dogs to come and go. The product stays securely in place when you FOLLOW THE HANGING INSTRUCTIONS. The magnets snap it closed behind us every time. I wish it were about 2 inches longer for my old house entryway but even so, it is keeping bugs out of the house.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
My french doors where installed without a track for a screen door so I could never leave the door open without tons of bugs getting in. This was a simple solution that I could not find anywhere else! Now I can let the fresh air come in and not worry about the bugs. The kids think it is great and they love to watch it snap close when they go through it. Totally worth the money! I bought one for my Mom who has had her screen door broken several times by kids and grandkids. We both really love it!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Every time my dog got it into her terrier mind to come into the kitchen, she would jump up onto the regular screen dog and tear it with her claws. Now she can come in and out at will - but squirrels and bugs do not. Even if I close the glass door and she pulls her jump up and shred trick it still doesn't work. This product is the best!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Our black lab can go threw it easily
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This product is a great seasonal fix for bugs and for kids who can't shut doors. The magnetic tabs work great to ensure proper closure.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Easy to install;work as advertised in keeping bugs out of the house. We use it as a cat door and it's great. It is a bit tight in the shoulder area for humans but it's not a problem.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This screen worked out perfectly for us! It was very easy to install in a door that opens to our deck. We have a labrador that loves to go in & out so this allows us to leave our door open to our back deck. We also use this door to walk in & out while grilling so it helps in that way also. Meanwhile it also keeps the bugs out:-)
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We live in a townhouse and can not have a screen door on the front entrance. This screen lets the fresh air in and keeps the bugs out and is hands free for entering and exiting. Wonderful!!!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Hoped to avoid a screen door but this product is much inferior to a screen door. Pain to go in/out, doesn't close completely, wind opens up, and is too short for the door opening (we got the long one)
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
It's on the back door. Our dog likes access to the yard but we don't like flies and mosquitos. This was an easy solution. Our dog took to it right away.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
it is kind of a little too long for our door (which is standard size) and thus makes it easy to trip over and pull down. I really like the idea of it though. I'm sure it is keep some bugs out of our house.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This hands-free screen, plus an invisible fence around our yard, has made our dogs' lives and ours much easier! The dogs can now come and go as they wish from house to yard. And of course it's great for us to be able to walk out to the deck with our hands full and not fuss with opening and closing the door. The screen installed very easily. I wish the center overlapped more generously and closed with another magnet or two. The instructions indicate that one should hold the right side of the screen open for a moment longer than the left to insure a good seal when it closes. That's fine if you have your hands free, but not if you're holding something -- and of course the dogs just rush through, often leaving a gap in the center. Even then, the screen succeeds in keeping most bugs out.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I was very pleased with the quality of the screen, I had the same type of screen before and it lasted me years and I think this one will also. The only problem is it slides down sometimes so I may have to put something under the bar to give it better staying power.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Our lab bent both of our screen doors last summer so we figured this was the thing for us after reading all the reviews. It only took him a few days to figure out he could go in and out by himself. It doesn't close correctly all the time but it does a good enough job. My husband and I are both fairly tall and have to bend down a little to avoid hitting the overlapping of the panels at the top. Other than that we're pleased. The price was good and the quality of the screen if very good.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Compared with other screens I looked at, this was a snap to install and can easily be taken down. Although you can velcro the sides to the door frame, the weight of the magnets at the bottom holds the screens in place just fine. I bought it to cover one of my back patio doors so that I could allow my cats to go in and out when I'm home. Took them a bit of time to get used to it, but it's better than a cat door and NO mosquitoes!!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
My Doberman tore up the screen door as she wanted to get in the fenced back yard. With this screen she can come and go as she wants! It keeps the bees (most flying bugs) out of the house.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Easy to install, and holds up even with my 2 dogs coming in and out all day. No more yucky flies inside!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
was easy to install and closes nicely on exits and entry most of the time. don't mind closing it though as we can enjoy the breeze and fresh air without the annoying flies coming in.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I have bought two of these screens. The first one my dog, an 80 lb. puppy, chewed up. But before he chewed it,we loved it! I bought another one for this year, the dog is older and goes in and out as he pleases and it keeps all the bugs out. It is wonderful, and maked my life alittle easier with 7 kids, two dogs and an active household!

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
My dogs go in and out a lot and they will run out it fast and it sometimes falls down, but it's easy to put back up. The sides don't fit exactly, but it's close enough and convenient to use.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I'm actually using this as a doggy door which they don't recommend and it is working quite well. I had to add more adhesive tabs on the sides to hold it in place. This was easy to adjust and install and it has done a great job keeping the Florida bugs out and letting the dog come and go. I am very pleased.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This years model has increased number of contacts to door frame at bottom which is with standing our dog's comings and goings. Mesh is of a thicker gauge as well, so the screen is stiffer and holds it's shape well.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This is an absolutely great product for the price. We have a big dog that likes to go between our two structures (office and house). The doors are open all day long and there are alot of bugs in San Diego. These screens definitely keep them out of the house and office and we saved money. They are easy to put up and don't look to shabby. The only thing that you need to buy (IF you have a big dog) would be something to hold them more in place because the dog doesn't understand how to go through them slowly:-) and sometimes takes them down with him. We were thinking about getting screen doors for all of our doors but these work just as good! Thanks for the product.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We love the way it looks, how easy it was to put up, our dog love the freedom of being able to go in and out with any help. It is great to leave the door open at night without the flying bugs coming in. We have already referred others so they couldalsopurchase this amazing screen.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Haven't said "shut the door" since I installed it.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I bought the screens for the doors at our office as we don't have screen doors, and no windows that open, so when the sun is pouring through the windows it can get quite warm inside. The office staff had been just proping the doors open, but we were afraid of bugs or rodents getting in. These screens were the perfect solution. I had the first one up in about 5 minutes!! They are easy to take on and off the doors, so if we don't need the one on the door the staff uses, we simply take it off. We are all very happy with this product.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Quality material and construction, plus everything you need to install is included (spring-loaded rod). Have already shared product info & website with a neighbor!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Installed the screen in my french door this weekend. It works great, takes about 5 minutes to install and settles in in a couple of hours. Great when people are going in and out constantly as in a party!

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Works great when carrying items in/out of the house to patio. Self closing screen efficiently keeps insects out of the house.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We haven't used it yet because we have turned cold here in NW Missouri but we think it will be great next spring. I tried putting it up and it was very easy. I'm sure it will be great.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The overlapping panels are a big improvement over a single panel attached at one side, like a door, because you don't have to pull apart the velcro every time you want to get out. However, the spring-loaded support rod has fallen a couple of times; it has to be adjusted very precisely to stay in place.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This is perfect as a seasonal screen door. It also works great as a dog door for my 100 lb. Labrador!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Used on basement entryway where screen door is not feasible. Easy for me and the dogs to go in and out.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We put the screen 'curtain' up on our back door that leads to our deck. The dog will say outside sunning herself on the deck, as long as she can still see and hear us in the kitchen. It does a great job keeping out the pests (except the neighbors...ha). A lot less expensive than buying a screen door.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I saw this product at a friend's house and loved it. Couldn't wait to order my own.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Hands-Free Bug Screen is the perfect solution for a slightly-smaller than usual doorway in an old house. My dogs race in and out through this doorway many times each day, and the magnetic clips on the middle of the screen snap back into place each time, to create a bug-resistant barrier.
The only down side to this product is that now the dogs think that all screens are as forgiving as this product!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We have a large dog but no good way to install a doggy door. For years we have propped open the screen door so she can come and go... as do a lot of misquitoes and bugs. We wanted something to reduce the free flow of flying insects and this bug screen does the trick.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We really like the screen,it has done excatly what we wanted. It has aloud us to give our two german shepards and two cats a way outside anytime. Our cats have not mastered the trick but they move in n out with the dogs.Plus it has allowed us to use our AC less. thanks happy pet owners
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We use this on our back door during the bug and mosquito months. Keeps everything out, but our two dogs have no problem going in and out. We remove it in the bug-free months so we don't have to look at a screen.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
My door is narrow and the screen is a little awkward to open and close with
such a small opening. It was easier as we got used to it, but still needed
checking.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Magnets and stickers keep it in place;
They're low for kids and not in my face.
There's one little hang-up --
And that's all it takes
To have fresh air and live in grace.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I have already rated the first one - liked it so much I ordered another
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
was given a gift and they like the screen very much
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I live in an older adobe house and while looking forward to lots of family visiting Labor Day weekend, the screen door and my nerves were in for serious overuse. Food, children and grandchildren (and one greatgrandchild) would be going in, out, in, out, in, out ALL DAY LONG! Hands-free bug screen solved the problem.....mosquitos out, my nerves remained intact.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
easy to install
easy to clean
keeps bugs out effectively
if desired, can be stored for the winter
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I HAVE 2 PUPPIES. AS ALL CAN IMAGINE, THEY SEEM TO MAKE MORE MESSES THAN ADULTS. THE FLIES POPULATION HAS GONE CRAZY. THESE SCREENS HAVE BEEN THE PERFECT SOLUTION.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We use it for our cabin in the mountain. It's maid of high quality material.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
It was very easy to install and it works very well!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
What a great find! The sliding screen on my deck door had long since given out and I needed something to replace it as they do not make the parts any longer, this item fit the bill so well that I bought another for the occassional times when I open the front door for a nice breeze. My neighbor has a similar situation with her deck door and ordered one after seeing mine.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Adds extra ventilation in an upstairs bedroom. I open my door with the screen in the cooler part of the evening and by the time I go to bed, my room has cooled off significantly.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Easy to install (no screws) and can be taken down and stored for the winter.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I WANT to like it, and it's great idea, but the product is unfortunately poorly engineered and severely overpriced. For example, the overlap is barely adequate and contains only one warped, plastized magnet half way down to keep the center slit closed when a half dozen smaller and far stronger magnets are called for to do the job for this weight of mesh. All in all, it's about $9.95 worth of materials and effort for five times the price.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
It is a great economical option when a regular screen door cannot be used. It is easy to install and durable. It provides a use similar to a screen door, and pets can easily enter and exit the screen curtain. It is very durable, and has stayed in place since I installed it.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We purchased one of these screens for the back door which we leave open for our dog. The dog got the hang of it quickly and the screen does keep out the flies. We got a second for another doorway that leads to the back door. This one doesn't stay up as well, perhaps due to a slicker surface on the door frame. Overall, we are pretty pleased with the screens. They are not as effective as a regular screen door, but work well for our needs.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
THIS WILL ALLOW OUR DOGS TO GO IN AND OUT WITHOUT CONSTANTLY GETTING UP TO LET THEM IN AND OUT
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I have a large dog that has jumped through a screen window and door to protect her territory from squirrels. The bug screen door has been the answer. She can nudge open the magnet and I don't have to replace screens.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This screen is an easy and cost-effective way to get a nice breeze through our living area.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
When it's cool outside I can leave the back door open. The pets can get through but most bugs can't; I love it for airing out the house. It's not quite as good a fit as a real screen door, but it does a great job for the few weeks in spring and fall when I need it.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I have purchased two for two homes, one for my home in NY which has a sliding glass onto the patio. It still does the job. We just push aside either side. My brother installed (in 2 minutes) the one in Tenn.with a traditional door jamb and they say it's great. My two adult children will be ordering for their needs
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Does not do the job. Would not purchase again.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I wasn't aware that my new door from [...] was something other standard demensions. Because the screen is too long even on the shortest setting. Also, the screen is too stiff to drape properly when gathered in for a door at all narrower than full width. All and all, I am extremely disappointed!!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I have a door at the back of my garage that for ventilation I like to leave open. The screen keeps flying insects, birds and natures critters out while letting air in. A big plus is when both hands are occupied I can get throught it without having put down what I'm carrying. free.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Fits much better than the old fashioned type of screen doors I used to put in each spring and remove each fall. Also a lot easier to put up and take down. Now I need a couple more!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The screen's magnets don't really do the trick; it would require too much attention to which side you pull toward you. We just keep the magnets together and open up the screen from one side, and it's fine.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I installed the screen on the front door to take advantage of the temperature differences between the front and the back of the house as the day heats up. Leaving the front door open with the screen door on enables the house to be cooled by the breeze while the bugs stay outside.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This product is pretty good with just humans. I wanted it to use with a dog, to make it easier for him to get out side without me having to let him out. This product does this, but tends not to close, leaves gaps where insects can get in (I guess I have to teach him to close the screen). The product could use some additional magnets to help keep it closed. We also added a lot more velcro to keep it secured to the door frame.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We love the Hands-Free Bug Screen. With 2 toddlers and 2 large dogs it was impossible to keep the insects out of the house but with this product that problem has been resolved.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I put this on my sliding doors to allow grandchildren and the dog to go in and out. It has to be secured or the flaps fall crooked. Some dogs and grandkids can still make it fall down. It was better than another similar product I tried.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
In Florida there are many days with opportunity to open the house to the outdoors. This 1925 house has never had a back screen door, and one would be very awkward. The bugs stay out. Try teaching a pet to close a traditional screen door behind itself! With your magnet design, my pets always close the door behind themselves. Every time!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I hung one on my front door, my door to the garage and on the back door. They fall down too easily and do not always close. Okay for back door, but too ugly for the front door.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
the screen works well in letting my dogs have access to the outside while keeping the majority of critters out!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Temporarily keeps bugs out. Should have a real
screen door however.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Great item! Now my dog can go in & out the front door & onto the porch with out flys getting in to the house. I love it!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We don't have to keep getting up and opening the door to let the dogs out. They can come and go as they please, plus I can leave to door open to let the fresh air in.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The hands free bug screen was a good buy. Not only is it hands free for people but it's great for our pets too.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
My apartment has a sliding patio door that doesn't have a screen door. I was told I could buy one if I wanted to. I bought one of these instead (so I can take it with me). It allows me to let air in but not the bugs. Overall it's a pretty good item. The only problem I've had is the magnets tend to stick together if you haven't gone through the screen in a bit. They're OK after you go through once though.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Less expensive than a real screen door, but functions much the same. Easy to walk through, although must be gentle or the velcro pulls away from the door casing. Its been wonderful to be able to open our doors and let the fresh air in, but keep the bugs out!
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Like the idea, pets can enter without help.
Suggestion: 1) 3 sections instead of 2 to reduce the stress. Tall people tend to pull it down as they try and go through. 2) More give (or gathers) near the top for tall people (5"6" and up)

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I can leave my back door open on cooler days and not have to spend the rest of the day swatting flies and chasing hornets out of the house. There were moments of awkwardness when I came home with a load a groceries, but I've mastered that technique. My dog loves it. Easy to come and go! I have already recommended it to several people who live in our duplex complex, without screen doors.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The front door on my 130 year old house is an odd size. We recently renovated our front porch and the only thing missing was a screen door. We ordered a Hands Free Bug Screen and it has solved our problems. From a distance, it is not noticeable, so it does not distract from the door. What makes it even better than a screen door is that the dogs can go in and out as they please without bothering me. You have to follow the instructions though, if you do not open it the recommended width before installing it, it will fall down. It takes some muscle to get it in place, but once it's in - that's it.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I use the screen leading out to my deck. We like entertain a lot outside. I have two dogs and three kids, who have constantly destroyed my pre existing screen door. What's really nice about this is you can SEE the screen hanging. With the other door, we have had someone or dog plow right through it several times because they couldn't see it.
It is also very easy to get through and does close on it's own.
Many of our guest have commented on the hanging screen and and a couple of them purchased one.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We had a sliding screen door that my dogs would run right through, leaving a big tear that allowed bugs in and looked unkempt. This product lets my dogs come and go and still keeps out bugs and looks neat.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I tried the hands free screen on my back door and there were a few gaps that weren't sufficent bug protection in our Minnesota location with lots of mosquitoes and small bugs. I put it on my garden shed door and it keeps out flies and wasps and I can go in and out with my hands full or dirty and not touch the screening. Our cat also went in and out and the screen shut well behind him. So, while it didn't work for the application I had intended it for I found a good use for it.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We purchased the Hands Free Bug Screen to use during the summer months for our front door. This entry looks best without a screen. Using it in the summer provides cool breeze through the house and protects against bugs and insects.
We are enjoying it very much.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
Hands free bug screen is easy to install and keeps the bugs out. However it doesn't open very wide and is difficult to walk through especially if you're carrying a tray of food or drinks.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
My condo does not have screen doors leading out onto three decks. These screens work great in the summer and I store them for the winter to let in more light. I can also take them with me when I move.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This screen door is so easy to install and easy to take down and store in the Fall. Perfect for an apartment where space is at a premium. We have one leading to our deck and another at the fire escape. My dog slips through to the deck and the magnetic closures shut the screen behind her. It has been 100% effective at keeping out flying insects. We have had favorable comments from friends who have ordered for their homes or apartments after seeing ours.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
When I saw the Hand Free Bug Screen in your magazine I was very happy. I have two small dogs
and every time they want to go out I have to stop what ever I'm doing and open the back door. I ordered the screen right a way, put it up as soon as I got it. I show my two pups how to use it and they love it, but not as much as I . They have that freedom to run in and out to the back yard. Now I don't have to stop and continue being a door person.
thank you very much.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
It is easy to put and take down. However, it doesn't close after each time, flies still manage to get in. Great if you have dogs/cats, they can get in and out easily.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This is my second screen. I leave it up year round. It is child and pet friendly. I have had many compliments and have been asked where I got it. The Houston heat causes the glue to fail, but is easy to replace. Love it, love it. I would buy another when this one wears out.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
very useful for the dogs to go in and out on their own on nice days. Not "airtight" but keeps most of the bugs out during the day. Not effective at night since screen does not seal to doorway.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
The door screen was a good answer to the problem of constantly having to let our dog in and out. He took only a few tries to learn that he could "walk through" the screen. I have seen many less bugs in the house since we added the screen

Ordered for my parents (81 & 79). They love this item also. We enter the home through the garage and this keeps the little bugs and critters OUT of the house. Wish they made a longer one for the garage doors. 8x7 is not log enough. I have told friends of this and they have ordered it and love it.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This product is perfect for our house it keeps the bugs out and we can now sleep at night without the buzz of mosquitos. The dogs can go in and out without having to scratch at the screen doors or run through which happen previously with a conventional screen door.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I use this rather than let air conditioner run. My dogs can run in and out without the netting going askew. Much better than others I've seen.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This bug screen took only minutes to put up and is easy to take down as well. For people who have the new type of doors that are so well insulated that they don't need a storm/screen door, this is the perfect thing to use when you want to leave your door open for ventilation in the summer. It doesn't keep every last bug out at night when you have the lights on ... the moths often find a way to get in. However, mosquitoes aren't as clever and they don't seem to get in. Although it is easy to walk through, some care must be taken to close the middle and bottom magnet to ensure maximum protection. It was a nice touch to make the velcro piece that goes on the door frame white, so it matches your trim (if it is white). If your trim is not white, then when you take the screen down (you are supposed to leave the velcro up), then the velcro on the frame will be visible.
Overall, a pretty good design.
I have recommended this already to three friends who have front doors without a storm/screen door.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I needed something that would allow cross ventilation and yet keep the bugs out.A permanent screen door wasn't an option. The old dog figured out how to go out through the bug screen with no problems and the magnet would shut it again. My one complaint is that after one season and a winter, when I took the screens down and stored them, the velcro on the door frame was not effective the second year. The stickum didn't survive more than one year. I had to purchase new velcro to put on the door frame, but with our long, cold winters, it's no wonder the adhesive didn't hold up.I purchased a longer piece so that I could attach it with the stickum and also with small nails. Then when visiting dogs or children stress the velcro, it holds more securely.

My mother has an older house with no screens on doors or windows. I purchased this product to allow for a breeze from outside and to keep flies and mosquitoes out while doing so. It was so easy to put up and I even move the ones I have between doors when needed. It couldn't be easier and the quality of materials is great. I highly recommend this product.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This product has to be the EXACT lenght or else it does not work with ease. It's a real pain, but does work.

Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We like to keep the door between our 2nd floor apartment and our covered 2nd floor porch open in the summer and don't like the aesthetics of installed screen doors, so decided to try this alternative. It cut down dramatically on the number of flies getting into the apartment, while being pretty easy to pass through. (It can be awkward to carry piled-up plates through it, but manageable.) Highly recommended.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I really WANTED to love this product! I needed a screen for my back door which would not need to be attached to the beautiful (and expensive) wood surrounding it. I think the idea for this screen is great - it hangs up like a curtain rod. However in practice we've had a few problems with it:
1. The rod seems to loosen fairly quickly on its own so that even the slightest movement of the screen causes the whole thing to come off - I am constantly readjusting it which is very annoying.
2. My husband has to duck his head a lot to get through! It's not good for taller people (he's 6'2")
3. With hands full it is hard to open - often leading to number 1!
I think with some design improvement this could be a great device. I am yet to find the perfect screen that will work with my back door...
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
This screen keeps bugs out and allows me to have both hand full and still walk out to our deck.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
I built a very nice screen porch to the back of my home then struggled with a number of solutions that would allow my black lab to enter and exit the porch without my help. The Hands Free Bug Screen is the perfect solution.
Comments about Hands-Free Bug Screen:
We have two wireless outdoor thermometers mounted in the doorway where it hangs. I was afraid we would have to move those but it fit anyway. Also, when we know we will have lots of traffic going through the door, we just take it down while that is occuring and put it back up afterwards. The magnet at the bottom will stick to our metal kitchen door so the cat can come and go at leisure.
