I bought this globe to replace a broken gazing globe. It was described as "glowing" after being in the sun all day. It arrived during the winter, so I didn't put it in my garden until April. I have checked it almost every evening, at all different hours from dusk till dark, and it has never "glowed". Very disappointing! A lot of money for something that just "sits" there! Should have just bought another gazing globe.

We live in Tampa and our sun is strong and long, however, these globes are said to glow 2-4 hours. The glow comes from Phosphorescent (glow in the dark powder/crystals). Problem, by the time the sun stops shining on them and it is dark enough to see the glow 2 hours have passed and so has the glow. Needless to say they are being returned hopefully to find a solar cell with an LED.

The globe is beautiful. It arrived in winter when the yard/garden was covered in snow, so I put it indoors near a southern window. After only a couple hours of direct light, it was glowing that evening. The next day, arriving home 2 hours after sunset, I saw it glowing in the corner of the room. Buyers should be realistic- it's a glow in the dark ball, not a solar powered rechargeable light.

Your advertising on these globes was so enchanting that I was sold regardless of the high price. When I took them out of the box (I bought 3) I couldn't wait to see that PHOSPHORESCENT GLOW IN MY FOREST GARDEN at night. Well, such FALSE ADVERTISING should be taken to court. They are very pretty by day, but hardly worth the price I paid. At night - NOTHING, and that was my motivation for the purchase! They are also extremely fragile. One of mine was pushed over by a playful squirrel and completely shattered. I have never even had a 'cheep' globe do that. I just don't trust any of your advertising anymore!!!!

The glow is very faint which we have really enjoyed. They remind us of looking at a very faint star. We placed ours in our garden and can see the soft light through our windows at night. Might be nice idea to offer globes with additional light crystals for customers that want theirs to really GLOW.

I have what is supposed to be the amethyst globe. It is mostly clear glass with about a 2 inch streak of green and blue and the amethyst spots look more like brown. I was very disappointed. It never glowed at night for any length of time no matter where I put the globe. It's just plane ugly and if it hadn't been a gift from my mother, I would have returned it. Now the rubber cap that covers the opening has deteriorated and fallen off. Maybe I could turn that side up and use it to collect rain

I would have been less disappointed if it had not been advertized as glowing. Mine were exposed to the Arizona sunshine for therecommended amount of time and there is no glow period! I have 2 sitting on my patio for a romantic glow, onr sd you go towards the from yard and put the red one in a short holder as a center piece in the table, it shows inside and out. This is the most beautiful addition to my garden. It glows so beautifully at night. It needs to be secured if you live in a windy area. Store in a secure box or somewhere where it will not get knocked around. I broke one and loved it so much I ordered another. They make great gifts for your gardener friends and come in two sizes. I ordered this globe for my niece and her heuband that live in sunny Arizona. I assumed that because they get lots of sun the globe would glow for a while after the sun went down, but no such luck. By the time it gets dark the glow is non-existent. The only way you can see the glow is if you bring the ball in the house into a dark room. Very disappointed in this product, not worth the money.

We purchased the Glow Enhancer which greatly increases the brightness of the globe. Need to read and follow instructions concerning the phosphorus light catching abilities and place globe in an area that receives "direct" sunlight at the end of the day. Unfortunately lights in my yard stay on all night so the orb had to be moved a distance away from my main patio. I don't see it so well now. I gave one as a gift. We followed the directions, and it didn't work. We called the Customer Service line and they gave us instructions that violate the third law of thermodynamics and if true, would make the globe's function impossible. It's pretty much a piece of junk.
