I purchased 4 of these lamps to illuminate my front porch steps. 2 work and 2 do not. I replaced batteries and even took them apart, cleaned and dried them to no avail. At [$]each I threw [$]away on this product. I am very disappointed. I have loved all other products purchased from this catalog, but these were a big disappointment.

I BOUGHT THIS SOLAR LIGHT AS A GIFT FOR MY AMISH NEIGHBOR WHO IS ALWAYS READY TO HELP ME. HE ALWAYS NOTICES MY OTHER SOLAR LIGHTS, BUT I PURCHASED THIS ONE THAT WOULD FIT HIS NEEDS. BEN AND HIS WIFE LOVE IT. I SEE IT EVERY NIGHT AT THE END OF THE WALKWAY. BEN OWNS A WASHING REPAIR BUSINESS SERVICING AMISH IN OUR AREA, AND GETS COMMENTS ALL THE TIME REGARDING THE LIGHT. MAKES A GREAT GIFT FOR ANYONE.

I got two of these to illuminate an outdoor staircase at night. I put one at the bottom and one at the top of the stairs. They are heavy granite, very quality look and feel. You just pull the tab on the solar cell to start and put it in the sun. It needs to charge in the sun all day but at night makes a really pretty, bluish white glow. Not too bright, just enough to see where you are going.

Started with 2, liked them, orderd more.
We have put them at the end of a driveway were people miss our driveway at night. On the back deck stairs. The walkway to the barn. Walkway from driveway. They only mark location they don't light the way but that is all we want.

I have now ordered two sets of these solar lights, the first set a couple of years ago (yes, still working). They are outstanding. They are quite heavy, and so able to withstand all weather conditions. They generate a pretty good amount of light, and for all night. Highly recommended.
Comments about Granite Solar Pillar:
I sent these to my parents as a gift. Not only do they love them--the first time they had friends over, the friends liked them so much they too ordered some as gifts.

I have 2 of these placed on retaining walls on my cellar walkway. When I need to go to that area of the yard there is enough light for me to see my way to the walkway and the cellar door. They are a bit pricey to buy all that I wanted at one time. I hope they are in stock soon so I can get more.
Comments about Granite Solar Pillar:
It's a pretty addition to the deck and is heavy enough not to be knocked over by the dogs.
Comments about Granite Solar Pillar:
Works great as long as there is adequate sunlght.
With 8 hours of sunlight, they shine from sundown to sunup!
Don't put in a shadey area, illumination won't last.

Placed a second order because I was so pleased with this solar light; will likely order more. It sets down firmly on any solid flat surface. For now, mine edge a winding path, providing enough illumination to guide walkers. Good looking. Blends into the landscape.
Comments about Granite Solar Pillar:
Really heavy and doesn't get knocked over by critters that I know visit the pond at night. It's texture look is just right to fit into the garden area by the pond rockery. Even in our cloudy winter climate it gets enough light for the solar to work, though dimmer than summer. Haven't had to change the bulb yet (in 8 mos.)

The Granite Solar Pillar are great for the pool
I have one side that is higher and just did not know what to do with it. I saw the Granite Solar Pillars and knew that they would be great to show off my pool at night. Every light in my front and backyard is solar. These solar pillars work great.
Comments about Granite Solar Pillar:
These are very attractive. Plus, the granite is nice and heavy, so they are very stable, but easy to relocate - just pick it up and move it. They stay lit all night long, all winter long, better than any other yard lantern I have had. We use them on a deck, to light the steps and mark the edge, and they are perfect. Two thumbs up!
