We love this bed because it’s so easy to assemble and provides lots of growing space. Use the 12" deep upper tier for tomatoes, potatoes or root crops; use the 6" deep lower level for lettuce, herbs, beans and peppers. Double-thick sidewalls add extra strength and help insulate plant roots. Plastic row cover hoops are included to support bird netting or season-extending garden fabric.

  • Try our new !
  • Easy, no-tool assembly
  • One level is 12" deep; the other is 6" deep
  • Will accommodate a variety of different plants
  • Thick sides provide insulation for roots

This product was easy to assemble. I planted squash, okra, tomatoes in one section. The other contains melons and cucumbers. It is easy to maintain,(weeds)and is very attractive. I also purchased a cucumber trellis from Gardeners Supply Co. for this bed. Works perfect for the squash and cuckumbers! For the past five years I have consulted their marvelous catalogue for my garden needs and solutions. [...] Thank you Gardener's Supply Company.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This garden bed was so easy to assemble. The hardest part was putting the dowels in, but discovered if you twist them while pushing them through the hole they go in easier. There really is a lot of growing space in this bed. Since we have a short growing season in our zone 4 area, the hoops will help in extending our growing season. Since I had great success this spring with the cold frame I bought a couple of years ago, I plan to put clear plastic over the hoops next spring followed by floating row cover to try and get my tomatoes and peppers off to an early start.

This arrived and my neighbor and their 6 year old daughter offered to help. In no time SHE had the sides up while we were still reading the directions. So far my growing season has been extended by 3 weeks using a purchased cover. I put deer netting over it after that and is easy to access the garden and keeps "critters" out. Everyone is amazed at how much we can grow in such a small space. Will greatly appreciate it more this winter after the harvest.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This is my first attempt at a raised garden. We have a family of deer that roams by and lots of critters, so we draped deer netting over the canopy structures and so far, so good - the new veggie plants are still intact. We also use a spray that smells awful to repel them. The bed is not too difficult to assemble. I did it with my 4 year old in about 30 minutes inside, then somehow fit it through the sliding door (with some creative finagling)and carried it (with my 8 year old) to it's outside home. I like the green color - it blend into the yard and is not an eyesore. It holds lots of plants and the higher tier is good for slightly deeper soil and taller plants, so I plant corn, tomatoes and eggplant on that side. I'm a newbie veggie gardener and this bed made the process easy to start.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

I am using this for a small kitchen garden. So far, it has been good at retaining moisture for the plants. I wanted organic produce, so I used organic soils. I used the landscape fabric below it and it went up really easily after we tilled and leveled out the ground below it. No problems so far. It keeps out all the voles, neighbor dogs and such as they don't really go for raised gardens. The cover holders above the garden are really nice for attaching netting for pole beans or tomatoes. I plan to plant even more next season, as I started small this year and just wanted to see how a few plants would do. For the price, the quality is great. Good product.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

The basic two tiers go together quickly and easily and seem quite stable. So far they are holding up to wind and sun very well. The hoops are another matter. The instructions are confusing and any number of people have tried unsuccessfully to follow them. Gave up trying to follow instructions and made our own plan and finally got something up. Does not seem to stand up to our spring winds very well but in calm weather supports wire, mesh, and sun shade well.

I like the size of the raised bed. I made two small beds out of it for strawberries instead of making a two-tier bed. The protection I can give the strawberries is a plus. It was very easy for me to assemble in less than 30 minutes. This will be my first year to use it so the durability has not been tested yet; will let you know more after this year.

Our soil consists of clay and rock so it is almost impossible to do in-ground gardening. This bed makes gardening super easy. It is also attractive, and the cross bars are movable so you can still put cages on various vegetables as needed, although it would be nice if the manufacturer would make the cross bars slightly higher.

I want to overwinter greens & root crops and have seen other similar products. This has the depth for planting and the hoops will accomodate row cover fabric for cool weather or plastic for winter. The directions were not real clear, and there were some extra bits left over, but we did put it together fairly quickly. Filled with a mix of top soil/compost/dried manure.

Two-Tier Raised Bed itself is fine. But the hoop top can not be assembled because the connectors are all the same size. Unable to connect it to make the hoop over the raised bed for shade, etc. And, the square foot grid I
ordered from you for it - to convert it into a square-foot garden does not fit this raised bed - should be wider so that it fits on top of the structure.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This bed was very easy to put together. The instructions were a little vague, though, on the significance of the hoops for anchoring until it was too late in the assembly. Nevertheless it went pretty smooth. I was actually able to get one 4'x8'x6" deep bed with the hoops and one 4'x4'x6" deep bed out of this by taking the 4 top panels off and assembling them as a separate bed. 16 additional square feet. It was an unexpected plus. It is too early to say how it holds up under use and weather. Not so sure yet how I feel about the hoop system. It seems a little flimsy but I will have to see how it does this season. Overall it looks like a very good value for the amount of square footage added for planting.

I didn't take me anytime to assemble. [...] two days later and I was planting. I used the Gardening Guides to determine how many plants per square foot. Since I planted a week ago, the plant sizes have doubled. I did use weed matting underneath before filling with soil.

These beds are so easy to set up. We have heavy clay soil not the best for growing great vegetables so I decided to try elevated beds. I purchased two thinking I needed them to have enough space for all the vegetables I wanted to plant. What a pleasant surprise to find that I had more than enough room to include all my favorites and some new plantings as well. I am excited to see all the fresh produce we can grow on our own.

It took ten minutes to put it together, a few more to put the weed barrier in the bottom and then we filled with eco dirt from the recycling place. Our tomatoes were wonderful.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This bed went together with minimal effort. I just wish it was a little taller to hold more soil. I haven't planted anything yet and am still rigging up the drip irrigation that we're using with it, but I think it will be great for gardening in our desert-landscaped backyard. The soil here is so hard that you need a raised bed to get good results. I wish it had come in a choice of colors since the dark green, while attractive, doesn't go with our backyard, but I'm still very happy with the product.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This two-tiered bed looks great in my lawn, very attractive. I put up one last year on an area of lawn that just never did well, and added perennial flowers to attract bees, butterflies and birds. It over-wintered well, with just a little color fading, and stood up just fine to the harsh Colorado winter. So I ordered two more, and set them up in a "T" design, and plan to add some more perennials and annuals this spring. They are a little pricey, but I expect them to last for years. I may even plant some carrots and radishes in one, although I have a big raised bed organic garden elsewhere in my backyard, as well. The lower tier is tall enough my dog doesn't even think about walking through it (although my cat needs to be reminded on occasion!)This was easy to assemble (had to read the instructions a couple of times) and the hardest part was carting the soil & compost in to fill it - takes quite a bit, so be prepared. Overall, this is a good quality product, and a simple way to beautify your yard and add more growing space easily.

The beds are very sturdy, well made and work well on all types of terrain. I put the beds together myself and was eventially successful. Use a rubber mallet to drive the connecting corner rods into the ground and you'll cut your construction time in half. The company needs to provide more clear instructions on how to assemble the season extending hoops. [...] I plan to buy a few more of these as I'm very pleased with this product.

what can I say! brought 2 first took an hour to build, due to a slight problem with the instructions but figured it out, 2nd 18 minutes! I timed myself out of ideal curiousity and that included having to deal with a crying child as twin brother hit him over the head with a car!The first set had a few of missing parts for the canopy and a couple of extra bits?? it was 2 weeks before I opened the second one and every thing was in order so thats when I phoned GSC for replacements [...].I have had no bowing of sides and I can't even bang my poles into the ground as the stones that pass for soil here, wouldn't allow that.due to the canopy poles, if it suited someone better to have 6 inch high beds, it would be very easy to make a 8x4 and a 4x4 if you where prepared to put up with longer poles or could be bothered to cut them to size, I am lazy and dispite the fact I can't level them into the soil, I have left them long anyway, not a problem.and would I recommend them, yes! I have on the garden webs forum! sounded like an ad! but I am pretty impressed by them and the price compared to other raised beds, and trust me I searched and reviewed for months before commiting to a purchase, so if you are not handy or don't want to replace bed every few years this is the product for you I will report back on how they fair in a CT winter but having seen other reviews I am not expecting problems.

I didn't find the directions to be particularly helpful because included parts were not labeled. Indeed, the majority of the connectors were broken and one was snapped in two. Because I had already had the screened loam and composted manure delivered, hired someone to help me move it all, and rain was expected, I had to set up the raised bed. [...]. Now that it's complete, my seedlings are thriving, but I'll probably need to disassemble it this fall and begin again, that is, if Gardener's Supply will provide replacement connectors. If not, I don't see that this garden will last long before collapsing. All in all, it's a good product and would have been great had it arrived in great shape.

For the money, it could look a little better (some sort of texture to the panels) and it could be a bit more heavy duty. The weight of the dirt bows the panels and you end up having to stake it midline through to avoid this. I've read other people say that the instructions could be better and I have to agree, I originally thought it wouldn't be a big deal since we're talking, what, a dozen panels? But it's the little things that need to be done in succesion that will get ya if you're not paying attention. I'll use it. It probably won't rot any time soon. But I'll go cedar the next time.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

I purchased this raised bed because the forever bed was out of stock. I am very pleased with the product. It is superior to the grow beds (which I purchased a couple years ago) because the sides are reinforced. It was pretty easy to assemble -- even by myself -- and I am only a novice handywoman. Dowels go through the sides and into the ground easily (use a rubber mallet). Very attractive and a plus is that it comes with the supports for a cover that I will use in the Spring or Fall.

I love this raised garden!! It was so easy to construct and I used the hoop canes to depress the soil when I planted the seeds to my rows are perfectly straight. I have the area around it fenced so I can walk the entire parimeter and plant things along the fenceline also. I have placed weed guard sheeting in the entire fenced area so there is no mowing maintenance and I don't get my feet muddy ~ it's awesome!! The black sheeting also draws and retains heat from the sun ~ it's a perfect set-up!

This is an excellent choice for a small garden space. We have two side by side surrounded by mulch and a simple chicken wire fence to keep four-legged critters out. Very sturdy, no rot or deterioration, easy to put together. The hardest part was clearing around the garden for the mulch path and putting up our fence. You won't be disappointed with this.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This rasied bed is really easy to assemble. The rods make sure the bed is squared up. It holds more plants than you might think. The sides are made of double walled plastic. They are sturdy but I would recommend putting that rubber mulch or some kind of border around it. This way you can just mow around it. I believe that a not-so-careful weed wacker person could do some damage over time to it. I highly recommend this product. I'm loving mine so far.

We have really rocky ground, and these raised beds were just what we needed. The price was reasonable. They snapped together easily and seem to be very sturdy. I just tucked the row cover hoops into the edges of the beds, since there didn't seem to be holes for them to go into. That seems to be working fine. Highly recommend!

The protective stakes for the top tier are too short for tomatoes. It is difficult to arrange the holes so that the stakes go through each level so we will not be using these on the tall portion of the bed in the future. Overall, though I love the look and the ease of use. Hopefully, the produce will follow!

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

There isn't a clear diagram of the finished product, and the back of the single instruction page is totally blank; plenty of room to provide a close up of the final product. Only it would not give you the info that you need to tweek the design so it better holds the soil. You get more dowels than there are holes. After you get it together, you realize there is a need for more dowels to lend better support mid-board. We used a 3/8" woodboring bit (16 inch long to accomodate the double tier) to drill through the center of each board and not only used all available 18 inch dowels provided, but needed two more. We had one 12 inch dowel left over. We ended up using two 3/8 inch wood dowels. The company does sell replacement parts(look under "build it yourself" on their website. [...]We could also use some extra caps for the additional holes we made. Now, in spite of having to tweek this thing, we're generally pleased with the size and overall outcome. Just needed some Yankee ingenuity;-)

I used this product to construct a raised bed garden for the first time in my life. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, I found the Carolina soil and pests a challenge I had never before faced as a gardener. I like this well made but easily transportable raised bed as I don't know if the growing area will be permanent and with this kit I can easily move it in the future, and I like the two tiers. Time will tell regarding how well it withstands the elements.

I bought 2 of these with the original intention of putting each set together as designed and then "flipping one set upside down" and placing the 6" deep parts over each other to create 3 - 4' by 4' by 12" deep sections. That did not work BUT I did put the 2 bottom (4' by 8') sections on top of each other and the 2- 4' by 4' sections on top of each other and so was able to get a full 4' by 12' by 12" raised bed. It works!

The plants in it are growing nicely, and we are looking forward to getting an early start next year using the cold frame! We are even considering adding a second set.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

I recently set-up this new raised bed for my vegetable garden this year. The quality of the walls and connectors were very good and appear to be very durable. I agree that the directions are vague and not at all clear. But, thankfully, the assembly is very easy and fairly obvious. Some of the corner connectors take a bit of effort and jiggling around. You also have to use a bit of effort on the dowels and I recommend a rubber mallet to assist in getting the dowels completely through the side walls and into the ground. But, I was very happy with the bed and overall, I think it is made of good quality materials. I look forward to a productive veggie garden this year and many seasons to come!

I set this up quickly using no tools as was advertised. I am now waiting for the weather to grow warmer, at which time I'll use this product to grow vegetables. So far, this has worked as advertised...I'm a bit curious though why someone would want to use this to pen in animals...is that really one of the suggested ways to use this?

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

we now own four of these raised beds but the first year we only had one; the directions really could be clearer but once you figure it out... raised beds keep the weeds out and allow us to build our soil quality; having the deeper tier allows for crops with larger root systems, like tomatoes... we like the hoops, which allowed us to cover the beds as much of the season as we'd like, and cover again on frosty nights to extend our season... the hoops bowed by the end of the season and I would redesign to almost double the supports on the hoops both lengthwise and width wise - but it is still the best system we've found and we now have four in our kitchen garden - a tribute to gardening into our old age:)

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

The two-tiered structure is ingenious and materials are solid. Problem is that if the ground beneath isn't absolutely flat, it''s hard to get holes to line up to insert dowels. Must be assembled on site, so would be hard to move around--can't imagine getting the dowels out now that they're in. This also makes switching to the hoop cover out of the question. Minor redesign and this would be great.

Very easy to put boards together; excellent size/support for a raised garden. However, dowel placement is difficult because of the too tight holes. Also, if you want to use the hoops, that requires a different (not on instructions) dowel placement pattern! Gave up on that despite great help from Jon!

Promised to build a garden for my daughter-in-law, but the traditional wood frame ones I usually do wouldn't do around three kids (6 yrs, 3 yrs, and 3 mos) so I thought I would try this product. Excellent decision as it packs a lot f punch in a small space, won't rot, and creates no splinters. They will enjoy "being green" for years to come.

We purchased this raised bed for our backyard vegetable garden area. We could have put the seeds straight in the ground but this makes for a more attractive garden bed. Simple assembly, we added weed paper lining and filled with 17 bags (1 1/2 cubic feet each) of Miracle Grow Garden Soil for Vegetables. We have planted corn, wax beans, tomatoes, carrots in the higher bed and peas, lima beans and peppers in the lower bed. Looks beautiful. An added benefit was the the dome poles for laying bird netting over. Great surprise! We are planning to purchase another next spring. We highly recommend!

It was just my 4-year-old and myself. Using a rubber mallet helped. We had the whole thing together in less than an hour. We are very excited about growing our own vegetables and found the Garden Planner very useful.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This is the only way to garden. As raised beds go this one is a good value, its easy to assemble, and overall very easy to work in. I simply plant my seedlings in May, cover it with green fencing to keep out the ground hog and bunnies, and the pick the veggies when they are ready. I sometimes have to water it but overall I'd call this almost no maintenence. Its a great system. The only con is having to cover it with green fencing to keep critters out but you have to do that with any garden in a rural spot like my area.
That and the green house support poles have gotten a bit weathered in the 2 years since I put my first one in, but I just bought 2 more to put next to them if that tells you anything.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

Plopped it right on the grass after laying down landscape cloth. Pretty easy to set up although I was a little confused by the instructions. I made the mistake of deciding to use the canopy which requires the 47" dowel connectors instead of the 18" or 12" after I'd already filled with potting soil and compost, but with a bit of fidgeting was able to drive them through the corner connectors and into the ground. Rubber hammer recommended. Bird netting over the canopy has kept the many cats in my area from using it for their needs. [...] Looks beautiful and everything I planted is coming up nicely.

The set up is quite simple, except that some of the corner connections were hard to fit in to the side boards. I had to shave a couple of them down so they would fit. Also, the holes for the rods are too small in some cases. The design is fabulous, but some of the manufacturing is a little off. The "tenting" feature is great for early starts and for keeping birds out.

I live in a home that has a cement patio but I really wanted to have a vegetable garden. I searched and searched for something that might work in my space and was lucky to come upon this. Although it is really made to go over dirt, it works great with shallow root plants. I love that it is two tiered and that I could take it with me when I move. The only downside is that some pieces did not line up correctly but I was able to fit them together.

The beds are great. The hoops and connectors didn't fit easily. Needed to file connecting areas to make them work. This was not a big drawback.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

I have tomatoes and a few pepper plants in both sections of the raised bed because I had started the plants from seed and needed to move them outside. I had LOTS of little plants started (in cowpots.) The plants are huge and bushy and I have many, many little green tomatoes coming. It was easy to put together, looks great, and I'll probably add to it next year.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

Planting in the two-tier raised bed has made my garden much more manageable. The time spent weeding has been drastically cut. Seasonal planting rotation, such as spring spinach to summer cucumbers, is quite easy. The upper tier is proving perfect for growing tomatoes, just as the catalog description suggested. Thanks for a great product.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

We used this bed to put in our Victory Garden. It was quick and easy to snap together and, after a few months of blazin' sunlight and a drought, it doesn't appear to fade. I especially liked the supports that came in the package. It would be great in a community garden--if you moved, you could take it with you.

I had some reservations about the depth of the smaller side (the recommended lettuces, etc. don't grow well in our heat), but it was fine...even got a few patio tomato plants that bore fruit on the short side. And to maximize space we put our cukes on a homemade trellis. The squash plants flow over the side. We also dressed it up a bit with native rock around the perimeter.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

Easy to assemble but a little flimsy. The single board depth is too shallow to grow much, really need two board depth...Would be a better product if depth were consistant throughout.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This raised bed has allowed us to increase our veg. garden space quickly, allows us to use great top soil and not fight the clay, and helped our tomatoes and peppers get a head start by warming their roots faster than the cold ground could this past spring.

The only problem: we put it far away from a water source, and since it does seem to warm up the soil (and therefore dry it faster than an in ground bed), we need to do a lot of water carrying to keep the vegs going!

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

I am very pleased with the two-tiered raised bed I purchased. The quality of the construction is top-notch and it was easy to fit together the pieces. Once in place, and using Gardener's recommended soil, I have a real bumper crop of salad greens, peppers, tomatoes, beans and cucumbers growing in a nearly weed-free environment. I'm 100% pleased with this product, and it's perfect for the small area condo setting. I added a small wire fence around the perimeter to discourage the rabbits.

I am totally disappointed in this product. Infact bought 2 and have not even openned the second one.I was not able to get my garden in this year as I was counting on using these beds. I spent hours trying to figure out the instructions. The design is ridiculous. So I am having beds made out of treated wood. Sorry , but this product is a total disappointment.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

While we have a larger yard, we didn't want or need a large garden. Unforunately where we did want to put the garden, was right over buried electrical and cable wires. We opted for the 2 tiered garden so we could have a raised bed...no need to dig into the ground and into the wiring. The set up was wonderfully easy and we've gotten great comments from the neighbors about the nice green color. With a high quality garden soil, we're growing 4 tomato plants in the deeper portion, and many herbs and lettuces and spinach in the lower tier. We are thoroughly pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

We set up our raised bed garden in under one hour. We put chicken wire over the ground and then set the two-tier raised garden over the wire to discourage gophers and other underground critters.
We had a fall/winter garden and then put in a spring/summer garden. We have six varieties of heirloom tomatoes, plus zucchini, onions and bush beans. In the more shallow tier, we have herbs growing. We have a small yard and this item fits beautifully, adding a wonderful touch to our flower and fruit tree gardens.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

This is my first raised-bed gardening experience. What a treat! Originally the order was backordered. But lo and behold the order arrived on time for planting. So I didn't have a back-breaking afternoon of turning over and prepping a new garden bed. I put down a weed barrier underneath and my husband and I assembled the beds in about an hour. My tomatoes are growing well as are my cucumbers and eggplants. The raised construction and narrow width makes the garden easy to maintain. The beds hold more than I thought they would. The durable, all-weather material is great and the bed can stay put over the winter months.

    Comments about Two-Tier Raised Bed:

We live almost in the downtown area of Fort Worth, Texas, in the historic Berkeley Neighborhood. Because of the historic character of our home, design is very important to me. The raised beds allowed me to have a small garden and to fit in a pool for my husband who is handicapped. This was so successful that I bought another raised bed to grow herbs near my kitchen.
