    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

Takes effort to get it set up right, but worth it since it does the job as described. I would recommend using heavy duty boots. I used an old pair of vasque sundowner leather hiking boots and it worked nicely. I was able to walk a good pace and even jog a couple of times.

Be sure to tighten the nuts very well. I did lose two.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

It would work if you can get it to stay on your shoe. I tried boots and tennis shoes and they come off after I take one or two steps. My husband tried them and he couldn't get them to stay on. We tried strapping them on several different ways.
They didn't come with instructions on how to strap them on or some helpful hints.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

Come on, you guys, I expected better from Vermonters! What would be so big about including a little diagram showing how to fit the straps on these things so they work, for those of us that are strap-and-buckle deficient? After trying maybe a half-dozen combinations, I finally found what I THINK is the correct setup - and they STILL came loose and fell off after a few steps. And "Rob from Atlanta" told you a year ago that the heel lip needed to be higher... do you pay attention to this stuff?

Buyers, before you return these (or toss them in your recycling bin), do what I did: replace the supplied straps with leather boot laces, cross the rear ones around behind your ankle, Prince Valiant style, and tie them with a regular square-knot-with-a-bow (like you tie your shoes). Then they'll work a treat! (can't do it with loafers or bare feet, tho, they'll cut into your ankle and instep - I use my motorcycle boots)

I give them an "A" for concept, but a "D" for execution.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

This is a great idea, they just didn't design it well. There's not enough of a vertical lip at the back of the heel to keep your shoe in the correct position, so after taking just a few steps, they fall off... the straps are not enough to keep your shoes positioned properly on the plastic platforms.

I am somewhat of a clutz so I started slowly by just using one shoe, it worked out fine. I then got up the courage to use both at once and made sure not to step on my own feet, I was good to go!
The yard look great, I used it for getting the lawn back in shape, 1st made the holes then sprinkled some grass seed, in a week the lawn was greener(a bit of rain) and I didn't have to worry about fetilizers that poison pets.

The nails are sinking into the lawn, so I guess aeration is happening. Hope I don't end up on YouTube for that one.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

When assembling these shoes, it was a bit of a pain. Getting the nails in were not a problem. It was the straps. I have average size shoes, not too big or small. The back strap did not fit around my shoe. When I called the customer support, I received probably the best customer service ever.
While I had to go out and buy another strap that was long enough for my feet, I didn't mind because the customer service had taken care of the extra cost.
Finally, after assembling the shoes I was able to use them and they take some getting used to! I found them to work well, but you just have to walk carefully. Don't expect to walk normal speeds in these. Take your time and they'll work great!

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

For [$] this is a bargain. Don't be a typical no patience person and take a little time and these sandals will really help your yard. Yes they are large, as they should be. Yes the straps are long, as they should be. They're not made for size 4 child shoes. They have long straps so that all users can wear them, tuck them in. If used correctly, step down, step straight up, you're fine. No you can't run in them or use them while you're mowing as there are 2 inch spikes in the ground when you try to turn your body. Sit on the edge of your yard, put them on and walk on the whole yard or just on trouble spots. Works just fine.

These work good once you get them strapped on to where they stay. You have to be very careful that you don't walk normal or you will do a forward pitch to the ground. I have had several close up views of my lawn. Otherwise they work as well as I expected.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

I read the reviews about them falling off your feet, wore my rain boots and had no problem. I used them on my small yard and they worked very well although I looked perhaps a bit drunk learning to walk in them. Also, I hand tightened the washers? bolts? (I don't know the name for them) that hold the spikes on and before the next use, I will have to use pliers to tighten them.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

We have hard soil and are on the look-out for innovative ways to loosen it up (and allow our grass to grow). I thought these would be great to wear while doing yard work, as well as for intentional, thorough aeration.
They were easy to assemble, but tough to wear - although my husband had an easier time keeping them on his bigger feet, if you tighten the straps enough to keep them on your feet, they are very difficult to get off when you're done. They are also awkward to walk even a short distance in on hard surfaces - so don't leave a tool behind in the shed! You are not going to want to be taking these on and off.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

The spikes in the sandals are longer than they need to be. I thought they would be about the length of spikes in track or golf shoes. Furthermore I think there is a good chance of twisting an ankle or even breaking a leg, if the spikes of one of the sandals should get caught in the ground. There was no way I could use them with my weak legs (I am 81), but even my handyman who is in his 40s was leery about putting them on.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

Love the concept and was very excited to use these while mowing to address some of the soil compaction in our lawn, however we still haven't figured out how to securely fasten the straps. As soon as you take a few steps, the straps loosen and the Sandals fall off.

We will probably need to retrofit them, and they will work well enough.

For the extra effort though, it seems like it would be just as easy to build your own out of plywood and screws.

Men are not the only people that work in the yard. Thank you.

Such a great concept - aerate while you mow! But I can't keep these things strapped on. Have tried relocating the straps and buckle as much as possible, but the straps loosen up after about three steps and then the things flop off my feet. Also tried different shoes, etc. Nothing helps. Totally useless unless they stay on. Good thing they weren't too costly. Waste of $$$$$!
