Well these worked fine for me but my wife that is a small person had a very difficult time walking in them. Maybe that was her plan? To make them work correctly you need to "walk like a robot"
So I would say if you are more than 100 lbs and a shoe size bigger than a 5/6 you would be fine

    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

I took a pair of boots and drilled one bolt through them. This way they stay on your shoe. The straps are a little week and if you are like me you don't have time to mess with items like this after you purchase it. I also used some heavy string. The spikes move too much for anyone strap. You defiantly need the screw or bolt. Make sure and use washers and flat head screws. I still would recommend this product if you have time to do this one thing. It really has loosened my yard up and the grass has taken off. I use them every time I mow my yard.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

Sandals worked well but you must take very short steps so you can pull your feet straight up. The straps held firm for me but you must attach the strap to the buckle by inserting strap from under the center slot coming up and then down into the first slot. The directions are very poor and do not explain this.

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

Good product. The straps are longer than needed; so a trim with scissors is needed. After cutting, however, the straps tend to "run" which I fixed by burning the edges with a lighter. It would be a better idea to have the straps made of some sort of strong latex material which would prevent slippage after a long period of usage.

    Bottom Line:

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

While it takes a little while to get the hang of how to walk in these "sandals", once you do it's a snap to aerate the entire lawn quickly. Be sure to securely tighten all of the nuts so you don't lose them - the spikes can turn sideways if they're not tight enough and that makes it difficult to continue to pick your feet up. The slower you walk and harder you step the better the results. Not the most stylish shoes in the closet - or the toolshed - but they really do the trick!

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

So, overall they're fine and they do work for shallow aerating if you're big enough. I'm 5'3" and 135 lbs and I felt that in the places that the grass needed the most help I wasn't heavy enough to make them go into the ground. That said, we had moved into a new house where the previous owners had not done anything other than water the lawn... so we really needed more "heavy duty" aerating than the shoes could provide. They were also pretty big for me.

Weight really matters...the more you weigh the easier to use. I'm a little lady so my husband now owns this job.

Use Caution Unless You Have Large Feet
By DJ the Gadget QueenVerified Purchaser from Parsippany, NJ on 7/8/2008
    Pros:
    Very Sharp Spikes
    Cons:
Difficult To Use, Slip Off, TOO Large
    Best Uses:
    Lawn
    Describe Yourself:
    Gadget Queen, Practical
    Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

The spikes are very sharp and will aerate almost any type of soil, but I am a Women's size 8, and they were WAY TOO BIG in length. This causes them to slip off because the front straps are too far up to the front. Even a man with large feet would have a problem. So use caution because when they slip off, you not only stick into the soil, but can hurt yourself if you land on one of those spikes!!!

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

The idea behind this product is good, but I had a hard time staying upright while wearing these lawn sandals. There was also the problem of getting stuck in the lawn. I never managed to aerate more than a small patch of lawn.

These worked well on a dry lawn. If the lawn was wet it would pull up clumps of grass. The straps are also set for a larger foot. I wear a size 9 1/2 woman's they were a little too big.

    Lightweight
    Cons:

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

I am over six feet tall and weigh around 190 pounds. I thought my ankles would snap before the spikes would go into the ground. I found this product worthless in Georgia Red Clay and I'm sorry I wasted my money.

By Weekend gardenerVerified Purchaser from MA on 7/7/2008

    Lightweight
    Cons:
Difficult To Use, Fall apart too easily, Flimsy
    Best Uses:
    Lawn
    Describe Yourself:
    Practical
    Bottom Line:

    Comments about Lawn Aerator Sandals:

These strap on over your everyday shoes but they don't stay on very well. The straps need to be better engineered to stay on the shoe. Have to stop too often to readjust them.
