Some gardeners dislike plastic mulches, but want something more permanent and more effective than bark mulch. This edging is made of coco fibers bonded with natural latex rubber. Used on their own (and pinned down at the edges with ) they can be mowed over — no trimmer needed.

I was not expecting two 6 foot lengths.

We purchased some of this a couple of years ago just to see how effective it would be at keeping the grass from growing into the area around the plantings next to our deck. It works great! There is still a good edge and mowing has not been a problem since it is installed flush with the ground. We are so pleased that it is holding up so well.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I tried to get the stuff to lie down as it is curled when it comes and it takes forever to get it to lie down. I expected it to be in short mats instead of long and am not sure how to cut it to make it work. It does keep the weeds out for sure
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I purchased these for the paths and edging around my garden. They lasted long enough for my husband to run over them with the riding lawn mower. I will try again, but add bricks to the help deter the blades of the mower.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I have used the cocoa fiber tree rings with success. They look good and stay flat around the tree. The edging is a different story. It does not go around curves as advertised and will not lie flat on the ground even with extra ground staples.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I was excited about using this product but when it arrived it was red and all of my mulching is brown, definitely sticks out as a different color.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Since I just applied, I will have to wait to assess effectiveness. It is quite unattractive and where edges had to be cut to round corners, particularly so. I covered it completley with bark mulch.
At the same time, I just applied shredded coconut block mulch that I purchased maybe 2 years ago. I was unimpressed with the "expansion" of these blocks.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
We had hoped this would be perfect edging. It would not lay flat. It rippled up and got worse every time it rained. Very disappointed since it cost [$]. We threw it away,
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
We really like the fact that this edging keeps the grass from growing too close to our gardens, and really makes mowing around the gardens very easy...no edging required.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
works well, I now have a definite edge so when it comes to mowing the lawn, the wheels stay out of my flower garden

Hoping to keep the grass at bay so that I do not have to edge my garden.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Seems to be doing a good job as a bed edger and keeping out the weeds. Definitely makes it easier to mow close to the flower bed. Only con is that it is extremely hard to cut.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I used the coco mulch edging around most of my yard and spent over $2,000 this year buying various products mostly, this edging, rubber edging, pins and the coco mulch blocks. The color faded within 2 weeks. Grass has been growing through the edging within a few weeks of it being installed. I am very disappointed in this product since I was hoping to find eco-friendly products that would help reduce the time needed to maintain the garden. I feel the price is expensive for the quality of the product. If it kept weeds and grass from growing through, it would be well worth its price. Gardeners Supply should send me and its other customers that purchased this product a refund. What a waste of time and money this product was!

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
A friend gave me two strips of the coco edging, and I wondered what I'd do with it, since I love just seeing the dirt at the edge of the garden. I have a garden rectangle in the middle of the lawn, and bordering the woods. It's made up of quite a few cobblestone raised beds. I always have a problem with how to exactly and neatly border the garden dirt paths, which surround the rectangle. I tried the edging there. It was perfect! The grass grows right up to it, and we can mow with one wheel riding on the edging. It works perfectly. I ordered a few more sets, and also the earth staples to hold them in place. I'll take them up this winter and store them rolled up in the green house or tool shed. I never thought I'd ever use anything like this and wouldn't have tried it if my friend had not given me some to try.
Not neat around the edges.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I put this down a year ago. It has faded a lot, which is good because it was very red to begin with. I have a lot of curvy beds, and installing it was a challenge. At this point I'm disappointed because a lot of grass is coming up through it. I think it's better than nothing, but certainly not what I had hoped for.

Opened one of two boxes. Color was a hideous red. Immediately packed up and sent back to company.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I used the coco fiber edging as a border to keep grass from creeping into mulch beds and along sidewalks. I'm hoping no grass or weeds will grow through it over time. I do not enjoy weeding and trimming all the time. I like that it is a natural product made from coconut fibers.
I was very disappointed in the color of the edging. It is very reddish when first opened; however, after a week in the sun and rain it fades to a very light orange shade. I have brown mulch in my beds and ordered the walnut color for this and some of the rubber mulch edging. The rubber edging is a much better color and seems to be holding the color better. I have only installed these products over the past month so I don't know how they will survive a PA winter. At this time I am undecided if I would recommend these products to a friend - they are expensive. I'm hoping to get at least a five year return from the products for the cost involved. I don't know if they will accomplish what I want them to do (prevent grass and weed growth through them) for that length of time.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I use this as an edging about the garden because I have prolific weeds that even grow on top of mulch. Nothing gets through this stuff.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
This product is very easy to use on any garden. It makes my garden look like it was professionaly done.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
This will save my husband a lot of trimming around our big maple tree.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I put this around the outside edges of my raised beds and the walk areas between my raised beds, in an attempt to finally win the battle of the grass and weeds trying to take over these areas. Alas what a disappointment when after just a few weeks the grass is coming right through the fibers, no deterrent at all to the grass and weeds! What a waste of money this particular product was!

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I was pleased with the product. It was easy to place and secure with earth staples. The color was more reddish than I had anticipated, but since I covered it with black cedar mulch to match the rest of my plantings the color was not an issue. I would purchase this product again.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
This edging keeps the grass from creeping into the garden and makes it much easier to mow near the picket fence. A bit pricey...but worth it.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
The rather jarring color looks better/is hidden with a light dusting of mulch.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
It is the easiest edging material I have used. The only negative is that I had to incur an additional cost to secure it in place with prongs.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Once I got the hang of it, putting the Coco Fiber & shaping it was easy.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
The product is superior to what I have been using for an edging. The look is very attractive.

It works well to keep weeds out of the bed; however, it is not attractive. The color sticks out and is a distraction to the bed.

Sorry, I already returned this product. I like things that blend with the environment. For example, brown dirt and brown edging. This edging was too "reddish."
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Put it around my house and all flower beds. Looks neat and easy to mow, with no weed eating.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Makes a neat edge that can take a mower wheel. Is less expensive than a stone or brick border. Easy to install but would be easier and look better if there were curved pieces available. I would like the Earth Staples to be the same color as the Coco Mat.

I bought this product to help reduce the need to weed wack around the raised bed vegetable garden. Our yard is large, this product helps reduce the time it takes to keep the yard looking good. It gives me an area to kneel or put tools down and not lose them in the grass. It looks nice around the garden too.

I ran this around the edge of my flowerbed and am very happy about how well it works and looks. My only problem was with slicing a bit to bend it. This stuff is tough!

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
1. It does keep weeds from coming from underneath but it's very good at trapping weed seeds, which then grow on the product. It didn't take long before it was overgrown. You would think that pulling the new weeds out would help, but that pulls the product apart. 2. Neighborhood cats apparently love to dig in it, leaving bald patches and tufts of coco fiber around the yard.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Easy to create a neat and effective border to keep weeds out of the garden.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I have a circular garden in my backyard and needed some space between the edges and the lawn. This works fairly well!

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
I understood when I bought this that because it is made from coco mulch mixed with rubber it would break down over time however, I've only had it down since the fall and already it's broken down quite a bit.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Used around flower beds - looks terrific and was so easy to put down. I am going to order more very soon!!
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Much easier to mow around this than mulch pieces.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
Although it looks flat in the catalog picture, after a short while it bunches up in between the garden staples.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
It seems to be fading in color already. I don't how it will look by the end of the summer. Our son accidently hit one area with the weed wacker and it really made a mess.
Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':
This worked perfectly to edge my flower garden which I then mulched with matching red mulch. My husband loves it because he no longer has to trim; he just runs the mower right along it. After using it under some stones that we have used as edging in one area for years, many family memebers thought the stones were new. The edging keeps grass from growing between and along the rocks and makes the rock border more noticable.

It rotted and faded to the point I had to look for something else within 1 year. I recommend the recycled rubber edging. It has maintained it color and continues to do its job as intended.

It was not so pretty in person and just didnt look nice. We got one all muddy, so we kept it but I returned the other one. Just not a nice addition to our new garden.

We used this around our front garden by a small patch of grass, and it prevents weeds and grass from invading our flower garden. Excellent!
