These bird houses are very rustic looking. Catalog describes them well. The back opens for easy cleaning and though made of wood, they look like they will last a while. Good size and well made. I ordered two and the tin tops were the same. I would have preferred the tin tops to be different. Good for decoration and hopefully birds will move in soon.

Great bargain............I do wish the tin roofs had all been different colors. Two of the three I ordered had the same color tin roof. But for the price I paid for them that is not a big problem. These are heavy, well built bird houses.

Very well built, it should last years. Easy to open for cleaning. Very cute. The birds will use all year, even to stay around in the winter.

The hanger is questionable. I would prefer a method where a wire could be attached in two places on the roof of the birdhouse. Many birds have height requirements for successful nesting, and the "picture hanger" type of this item would make it difficult to secure it high enough for some birds.
The re-cycled materials and colorful roof made it a very attractive gift.

I don't mind spending money on quality goods, but if I can get a great product that is made beautifully and get a bargan - wow. This bird house delivers. I liked mine so much and have had more people comment on it, I bought 5 more for Christmas gifts. Hangs in a flash, sturdy, looks great and birds love it. With in a few hours I had a pair building a nest.

We had been searching for sturdy birdhouses to add to our collection for some time. Could not believe how different and well made these were. Here in So. Texas, we have birds nesting year round so we needed houses that would stand up to the tropical climate. Love the easy cleanout in the back. Excellent!

It is well made and will be appreciated by my birds this Spring. There was a very strong mold odor in the box and in the birdhouses. I immediately put outside to get rid of the smell.

These three bird houses are going to be placed at a home for abused children. We already have raised garden beds there and we want to bring bird life into their lives also. The only thing I would like to have seen in the bird houses is an air hole. Other than that they are great. Apple Valley Garden Club.

I am using the birdhouse as a focal point in my country garden. It has a touch of whimsy with its brightly colored roof and I like the rustic, woodsy look. It enhances the decor in the garden and I am very pleased with it. It looks very durable and I'm sure many of my fine-feathered friends would adore it as a home, but I have adorned the entryway with a piece of silk ivy to deter visitors (especially that low to the ground). Low to the ground you will note your toadstools which I'll report under separate cover when you ask - catching lots of big, fat juicy slugs every day and my foliage is perky and unchewed once again!

bought 3 they were suppose to be all different, but two were exactly the same, oh well. had birds living in one the day after it was hung! love it!

I really liked the way these were made. They look easy to clean out (door on back) and are very sturdy. I was very sad that all 3 I ordered had the exact same tin roof pattern!! I guess this shocked me because it specifically said no two are alike. I still like them and will keep them I just think they would have looked nicer on our new shed if the tin roofs were actually different (this is what I envisioned when I bought them because of the statement "no two alike").

The door screws needed to be tightened on arrival, but it appears the birdhouse should hold up and provide plenty of ventilation during the hot summer months.

Wanted a decorative but durable bird house to hang on the lattice in my habitat area and the Second Nature Birdhouse just sets it off! We live in a rural setting and the random metal materials the roof is made from gives the impression of a rustic setting. This birdhouse is so well made and sturdy that and I expect to use it for many years. I had birds 'checking it out' almost immediately and it wasn't long before my new Second Nature Birdhouse was occupied. Yes, I plan to buy a couple more as they are just so different, neat, and a great buy. Decorative AND useful!

This is a lovely and quaint handmade bird house that seems very useful. The birds will take some time to discover it, but I think they will be attracted to its natural wood. If not, it is a pleasant garden addition.

I like the fact that it is made of recycled materials. I like the home-made sort of rustic look of it. It is big and easy to hang and has a back that opens so you can clean it. We just put it up about a week and a half ago and there is already a tenant in it.

Received the first one with scratches and dings on the second nature bird house roof. Received the replacement one with a big piece of wood missing just right above the opening hole where the birds would enter. I returned both. Did not want to take a chance with a third one.

This birdhouse is very cute. Birds will be nesting soon in Mississippi, so I hope to see some youngsters! Last year they nested in my windowbox, but a nasty cat must have gotten them. This birdhouse is on a tree in such a way that a cat can't get to it - also a holly bush is under it.

Actually, the photos DO show a different pattern on each side of the roof (note the edge of roof pattern). I didn't notice that in the photos either until after purchasing and re-looked, so a mention of that in the discription should be made. Not wild about the roofing patterns I got. Would be happier to know what I am getting before ordering. Like the patterns shown in the photos so much better.

This seems well-made, but a bit on the heavy side. Not sure if one nail is really going to hold this house which will last for ages. The roof is made of 2 different pieces of tin which is not what the photos in the catalog and on the web seemed to show. We'll have to see what the birds say about it.

I ordered two of these to set up just like they are in the catalog photo -- side by side on a fence rail. I was tricked by the product description that says no two are alike. When I opened the box, I had two identical houses -- exact same prints on the recycled tin. I complained, and Gardeners agreed to send me a new one at no charge. And guess what? It's identical to the first two!!!! So disappointed by the misleading description. They are solid, attractive bird houses, but if you're ordering more than one, don't expect any variation at all.

I bought two of these and was impressed with their solid, substantial construction at such an affordable price. The two I received were identical, which was disappointing because the description promises no two alike. However, when I contacted Gardeners Supply about the problem, they happily sent me a new bird house at no charge. The birds have not yet discovered the two houses I hung on trees outside, but I'm confident they will with time. In the meanwhile, they look great outside my home.

The way the wire loop is inserted in this house causes the house to tilt down when hung from a standard metal "S" hook. Would have to add wire to the loop to get the house to hang correctly.

Like the way it blends into the tree, yet the roof stands out. Should last a long time. Easy to clean out back "door" is much appreciated. Just hard for the birds to get into it, so we put a perch on under the opening. That worked fine.
