I put these together with my 7 year old son. My father is a big birder and he really liked them and the fact that they were reasonably priced AND easy to clean out. He now owns 3 himself!

I purchased 3 of these birdhouses last year. The instructions specify to coat the birdhouses with polyurethane if they are going to be outside. Now although that sounds problematic, before I put them in my garden I sprayed the entire thing - houses and poles twice. Now that spring is almost here again, the bird houses still look great. I intend to spray them again this year before the birds come. If you apply protectant as advised in the instructions, you should not have a problem and now that they are considered seconds the price is great. They are so colorful and brighten my yard. If I had more room, I would buy another set. Also, I set them in cement to make them sturdier than just sticking them in the ground. This was not hard to do with quick cement mix.

I bought these for my mother for mother's day last year. The poles bent while putting them up and by the end of summer the roofs all fell apart and the paint came off.I would not recommend them, I thought this company sold quality products.

Got these as a gift and was delighted!
Put them in the backyard and they looked so cute.
One month later the paint was peeling, the different parts were separating
and they were basically falling apart.
Birds moved into all three houses almost immediately, so that wasn't a problem.
These were pretty expensive and I'm now hesitating to purchase anything else from Gardener's Supply. Too bad.

I received all 3 houses for Christmas last year; put them up this Spring. Had to have a pole replaced as it broke before I got it up. Now I am taking them down for winter and the orange with the purpose roof is falling apart. Its in real bad shape. They were all placed in the same location. Also, no birds used them - but they used the drab brown ones in the same location. A lot of money to pay for something that doesn't last one season!

I checked the comments of previous buyers and added two coats of clear Varathane. They look stunning in the naturalized yard by the neighborhood walking path. It makes folks happy just to see them. If birds come in the Spring that will be a bonus.

I was very disappointed in these birdhouses. After only one summer outside the paint on some parts of them began to chip terribly and the roof on one of them completely fell apart. For the price I would expect them to last longer than they did and be a lot more durable since they are something that one would put outside. The poles also faded a great deal. I really like the looks of them but was upset that they went down hill so quickly.

I have sold a lot of your prodact to my frends the upside down planters are a big hit. The birdhouses get a lot of lookers in are yard we have always enjoyed your prodacts. One thing I did like the planters with out the water contaner better

I think the poles should be made of a heavier material. Pounding aluminum into the ground damages the top part of the pole.

[...] My husband and I own a veterinary clinic and we have a National Wildlife Federation certified backyard habitat on the grounds. I thought these would be a colorful addtion. They are very unstable and now parts of the roof have started to fall off. They are very attractive but look like the leaning tower of Pisa. I have always trusted Gardeners Supply but I am beginning to really doubt the quality of the products. I didn't mind paying a little more for better products preferably made by small companies in the USA but this no longer seems to be what Gardeners Supply is focusing on. This may be my final purchase.

We bought this set for Father's day. They were back ordered for two months. We were so excited when they finally arrived! The colors don't match the internet pictures at all. My "orange" is brown and my "green" is olively. I would not call the colors bright. We put them up in an area we share with a view of 5 neighbors. We all loved them! They had one rain and started coming unglued at the top. The next rain and move pieces came off, we had to take them down. They are laid out on the garage floor now, to be re glued, painted "bright colors" and I guess sealed to keep them together. I have always trusted Gardener's Supply, this is my first disappointing purchase.

I am extrememly disappointed in the birdhouses. The roofs are falling apart piece by piece. The poor birds in them must surely be getting wet. By the end of summer there will be nothing left except the poles.

These add some great color in my yard and are very cheerful. They were easy to assemble, and we did have birds build nests in them (they have an easy swing door on back for cleanout). The only downside is that the instructions say you should paint over them with a durable outdoor paint to maintain the looks, and I assumed they would be "outdoor ready". I have not painted them, but I'm assuming they're going to fade based on this knowledge. Also, the wind blew one over and the top knob and a roof panel fell off. In general, I enjoy them enough that I'd buy them again just for the pleasure of looking at them.

These look great in the yard but as the summer wears on, the colors are fading. They aren't made to withstand wind at all. They appear to be put together with finishing tacks instead of wood glue and nails.

I liked the colors, and apparently so did a chickadee, who moved in right away and had a brood. However after being in the garden for only 2 or 3 months, the roof fell off one and another roof is starting to fall apart. I'm bummed. I really liked them.

Within a month all the roofs on the birdhouses separated at the seams. I believe I will be only getting one year out of these, I am sorry to say.

Loved the houses! easy to set up. received LOTS of compliments from the neighbors! The wrens like them, but pieces on one of the houses started to fall off very quickly and I had to glue the pieces back on. The wood appears to be spliting on the base. The two others are doing well though and I do give your name to people who ask obout them.

The orange bird house arrived broken. Had to glue the roof of the house...very disappointed because of the expense on three birdhouses. Loved the colors and the style of the houses though. Very different and very cute!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received many compliments on the looks of the birdhouses. They are pretty and colorful. I wanted them for the outdoors and to withstand the elements from spring to fall. They didin't make it through the second rain. The wood split -- looks like pressed wood. The wood also swelled. Even the decorative pieces split. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of these birdhouses. I had hoped to enjoy them for more than one season.

I was amazed that even after a year in the garden, the house was still solid
and looking good. Others I have had were already splitting and the paint peeled after just one season. This one really held up. The only down side was getting it to stand straight. We finally used some PVC pipe and it works well.

I got these bird houses for my birthday...I hinted enough! They are easy to put up and one day later, the first birds moved in. They look great in my garden and they are well made. I have added a weatherproof clear coat to protect the paint. They are decorative and functional, the perfect combination for me.

I am delighted with my three colorful birdhouses every time I step out on the patio or am in the pool. The size, shape, and colors are joyful.
The only downside was that I felt a need to reinforce some of the joints with woodglue, and that seems to have made them sturdier in the face of New Orleans summer rainstorms.

These birdhouses are wonderful! They are whimsical and look terrific. They are a snap to assemble. The only catch is that they are not finished with a durable exterior paint and the directions say to paint them before putting outside!! I have applied 2 coats of exterior polyurethane in hopes that this will extend the beauty and durability of their finish so that I get a few seasons of use before I have to paint these very colorful birdhouses.

The roofs on two of the birdhouses completely fell apart, and the third is starting to go. The [*] products did not have enough glue to keep them together. They've only been in my yard one month. I waited a good six weeks for them, as they were on back order. Needless to say I am disappointed in their shoddy construction and it doesn't give me any confidence in your products.

I really like the designs, but the poles they set on are wobbly (have to glue them to make them rigid) and we had a gust of wind that blew half the roof off the blue bird house. I was suprised at how fragile they were.

I love the look of these birdhouses in my yard. I bought three and one of them is now occupied. However, they are made in China, and unfortunately that sort of says something about the quality. One house just fell apart and you could see that they used tiny pins (not nails) and some glue. Gardner's Supply immediatley replaced that one. (I like doing business with a company that takes efficient action on problems.) During a storm, a roof panel on the occupied house blew off and I have glued and duct taped it together. My birds checked it out and decided to stay. The instructions suggest painting the houses with a good grade of exterior paint before use. (???) I will take them in this winter and do that before I put them out next year. I did recommend them but would suggest, if you're handy, checking them over and maybe giving them the extra support they require.

Love the look of these birdhouses - however, after 1 windy day they all fell apart. It was quite and effort to glue and repair them. They were held together with tiny little brads and very little glue. So it took some work to get them up and stabilized. Still like the look, but did not like the effort especially for the price.

I had a Carolina wren setting up house within 24 hours of installing the houses..They need to be about 30' apart because the birds are territorial.
I have had quite a few commets on how cute they are..They are a little unstable. I may put them on metal stakes in the future..

By the time you get enough of the pipe in the ground so they won't fall over they are very short, about 5' 5" tall. Seems a bit short for a bird to want to settle there. they are very pretty and add color to the garden.

The bird houses (3) live up to the picture shown in your catalog. We will have to wait to see how they survive the Winter of rain, snow and cold, though I am sure I will put them away until Spring. The only complaint pertains to the polls that are in sections as they do not fit that tight, consequently it was necessary to drill a hole in each piece and insert metal srews so they (the bird houses) continue to stand straignt.

I bought these birdhouses because they are so bright and cute. I gave two to my mother who has an acre to put them in and kept one. The orange roofed one w/green house came apart at the seams of the roof. The other two did not. It was an easy fix. I would still recommend them. They look so good in the yard!

We purchased all 3 birdhouses a couple of months ago. When first installed we were very pleased. However, in this very short time they have fallen apart--with pieces falling on the ground all around them and the paint chipping and pealing.
I would definitely NOT recommend this product and am very unhappy with this purchase.

The Birdhouses looked much brighter in the ad than they did when received.
The bases are coming apart (noticed after being out in the flower bed only 4 weeks). We are expecting that if we want to use them again next year we will need to put on new bases and paint them.
A very expensive decoration that will only last less than 1 year or have to be fixed to use again.
