Great idea but... I cleaned all dirt off the window, used alcohol where it would be placed and stuck the suction cups to it. Several birds checked it out but thank goodness none of them called it home. Every 2 or 3 days, it would fall from the window. Can you imagine if eggs or worse, babies were in there?! Id feel aweful! I'm going to add a wire or string to attach it to the top of the window sill. Just don't trust that it's secure with only the suction cups.

I had expected something that was lighter and could be used in my apartment window and that would have one way glass so the birds wouldn't be frightened by our presence

Love the idea, makes a great gift for bird lovers who have a quiet window that won't be disturbed. Concerned that it may not stick to the window once occupied.

I bought this item as a Christmas present for my step mother after the items and the back up items were sold out. I was nervous but she loved it!
I will let you know how it works in the Spring.

Comments about Window Nest Box:
Get a close up "bird's eye" view of nature at its best. A good learning experience for any age. Watch the development of these birds from hatching to leaving the nest.

Comments about Window Nest Box:
We hung this up outside my son's bedroom window. We kept the shade down to not disturb, but not 1 bird seemed interested in it. They nested nearby. Will try another location next year, but very disappointing.

Comments about Window Nest Box:
I bought this for my husband for Christmas as I was intrigued with the picture in the catalog. It appears to be well made, and it is nailed and not stapled. We will definitely paint it to help preserve it, as we have with the six boxes we have made. We hang rather heavy stained glass suncatchers on our windows, so I don't anticipate the problem another reviewer had with the suction cups failing. Also, be aware that the directions say that nesting birds "need their privacy." They suggest keeping "the shade drawn" or putting a "dark piece of paper" on the inside of the window EXCEPT when viewing. So, if we unintentionally startle them, will they abandon the nest? Time will tell.

(1) For viewing nesting birds & babies.
(2) Fun to observe parents teaching babies.
(3) Unable to remove a section of bird house for cleaning purposes.
Comments about Window Nest Box:
I loved how solid this item is. I wish it had a weatherproof finish already on it. I would definately purchase this item again.

Comments about Window Nest Box:
We purchased 10 of the window nest birdhouses for Christmas gifts to our daughters and grandchildren and their families for Christmas (and one for ourselves). They are wrapped and under the tree and we can hardly wait for them to be opened! We are anxious for Spring to get here so we can enjoy them.
We couldn't wait to see one 'in person' so we opened one. It is VERY well made and very sturdy so we believe there will be many years of enjoying watching the eggs hatch without having to worry about little ones getting too close as they peered into a nest.
Thank you for a great idea.

Comments about Window Nest Box:
The product is a great idea...but the suction cups don't stay secured to the window....so the birdhouse fell to the ground when a bird was trying to build a nest...If the company could improve the product to keep it secured to the window I would give it four stars....its a great educational project for children and its also great for bird lovers who would enjoy watching birds hatch, grow and leave the nest....but the product needs to stay on the window.
