Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Ornate Victorian design will still be outstanding in a busy, attractive garden. Item is pricy, but durable and beautiful enough to warrant the high-end price.
I would have liked the option of changing the seed cage thereby attracting a greater variety of birds.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Globe is beautiful, but the stand is flimsy. Actually bought another stand to use with the globe feeder. Glad I purchased it on sale - full price seems too high for the quality of the stand.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
We bought one several months ago; When the wind blew it bent the stake over. Flimsy stake. We put the ball part on a different feeder. The birds loved it and we enjoyed looking at it as it was very pretty. We used the top part to hang a thistle sock and that looked pretty too. We had to manufacture a stake that would work. then Gardner's put it on sale and we bought another one. This time we set it up differently using some rebar. The two small circles on the bottom we put up higher and so far it has held up. We now have the ball feeder on the south and east side and we like them very much. Gardner's should fix the stake so it works better as not everyone has rebar lying around! Except for this, we love it.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
It looks great in my garden, but squirrels and chipmunks can get into the seed. Only seed with shells on can be used and the shells make a mess and are difficult to clean up. The shells will begin to smell if not cleaned up.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Love the beauty of this bird feeder. The only thing I was very unhappay with was the pegs that hold on the lid and support the entire feeder are too weak. Both pegs came off before I even got the feeder in place once. I super glued them for now and they have held up. I will need to screw in something else in the metal soon though as the entire weight of the hanger rests on the lid when you hand it up. If they made the pegs stronger this would be a great all around product.

This added an unique touch to the garden. It's functional, unusual and beautiful.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Received this birdcage as a present. The bird ornament on the top of the cage did break off very easily. However, it is relatively durable otherwise. It is very attractive in the garden and we have attracted all sorts of small birds. The big birds can't fit inside and the squirrels can't get to the food either. I am happy with this product and so are the birds.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I AM USING IT FOR THE UNIQUENESS IN MY GARDEN AND IN THE WINTER I WILL PUT BIRDSEED IN IT BUT, NOT NOW. I AM IN A GARDEN TOUR THIS WEEKEND AND WHEN I SAW IT; I KNEW THAT WITH MY OTHER GARDEN ART THAT THIS WOULD FIT RIGHT IN!! THANK YOU!
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
This birdfeeder is exactly as pictured! Attractive! Very easy to put together. Top heavy and not as sturdy as the picture shows. Because the stand is put together in sections, it makes it wobbly once put into the ground. Seems as though it may need to go into the ground more than 12" where it stops at the base.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
The knobs on the lid of the feeder broke off within one week. I need to use some form of tie (bungie cords) to hold it in place. Squirrels love this feeder -- in fact they have learned how to knock it out of the holder and feed on the ground. Not worth the price paid -- a new lid would be extremely helpful . . . .
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
This feeder looks beautiful in the yard. The small birds really love it; I've counted up to 10 birds inside it. Have not had a problem with squirrels so far. I was disappointed with the quality, though. The lid never fit right and the feeder kept falling to the ground. I used a piece of coat hanger and attached it to the top of the cage and it has been fine ever since.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
The small balls that hold the lid on came off,so we now use a piece of tiewrap to hold the lid on. The pole is very flimsy. A strong wind blew ours over, so we painted a piece of rebard and attached it to the pole. Squirrels stay out because we put a squirrel guard on the pole. The cardinals love it.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Unfortunately, I paid the full price and what a waste of money. Within a month, the bottom pole broke off from the base, so I had to rig it to another sturdier pole that I had. Then a couple months later the nobs where the roof hooks onto fell off. I had to put screws in and now it is lopsided. The lid doesn't fit right, so I need to use bungie cords. Bottom, line I will need to replace this expensive feeder.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I loved the design and then I love the fact my smaller birds can get to the seed but the larger birds and squirrels can't!!! Bought several as gifts... Love Love Love this one!!!
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
It's a beautiful addition to my garden, but as I had hoped, it does not keep the squirrels out. Some how those buggers get into the small openings! I still love the way it looks though and wouldn't trade it. The battle of the tree rats continue! A wonderful addition for any bird lover!
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
The product looks good in the picture but is cheaply built and a waste of money. The frame around the feeder is especially bad with little support and extremely flimsy.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I have bird feeders in my yard that have been there for over a decade. I doubt this one will last anywhere near that long. Great design executed very poorly. The pole is wobbly and too light weight for the caged feeder. Plus it comes in three screw together pieces which do not stay tightened On my model, the "wrought iron" hanger was bent, so the globe hangs askew (looking nothing like the great example in the store photo). Not worth purchasing even at the sale price.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
This is a beautiful feeder, purchased as a gift for my brother who just had purchased a beautiful home with a huge expanse of lawn in his back yard, bordering a pond. I could see this feeder as an elegant addition to the lawn, and another benefit was that it even had it's own stand, so it could be set up anywhere out in the large lawn. However, my biggest complaint is that it has become a wonderful squirrel feeder and the birds don't have a chance. I have wonderful pictures of this feeder with one, two and even three squirrels crammed inside having lunch. Purchase away if you want to feed squirrels!
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
We enjoy watching the big birds& squirrls try to get inside, its fun just to watch them.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Don't buy it
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Pole is too flimsy for the top heavy feeder. Mine blew over in the wind. The price made me think it would be of good quality, but the pole is not worth the [$]I paid. I should have bought the feeder and put it on a pole of my own.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Yes, the lid is flimsey (I tie mine on with garden twine for extra support) but it stayed out in the yard all winter with no ill effects. I did use a couple of the earth staples from my composting system to nail it down and it does not keep the squirrels out - I've had two at a time sitting in there. I like squirrels. Now that it is on sale, I cannot resist getting another one for the back yard. It is so beautiful and the smaller birds love it (and the woodpeckers)although the grackles and blue jays do get in there too.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
the birds, especially small birds, seem to love it.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
very different and attractive way to feed the smaller varieties of birds and keep the larger ones and squirrels out. reasonably priced.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
The little bird love the feeder. They sit on the overflow tray and just hang out. I've received many compliments from the neighbors about the feeder.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
This is a gorgeous feeder. The globe/cage is sturdy and well made.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I put it together easily, was very pleased with the look, etc.. Put seed into the feeder, went to close the lid and the small soldered beads broke off right away. I hadn't even given it to my mother yet! I was very distraught... I was able to use wire ties to keep the lid closed and be able to hang it. It looks great, but be advised...be VERY careful taking the lid on and off for filling.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
My husband put the bird cage together. The top ornanment (the bird ornanment) broke off of it and did not go back together. He is using it without the top bird decoration, however I am disappointed because I purchased it because of the decorative design with the bird ornament on top. Pamela Dunwiddie

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
We hoped this product would be squirrel proof, but it isn't--completely. However, it does provide them with a serious challenge. We installed a plastic "hood" on the pole, and that keeps them out 99% of the time. The birds seem to feel much more secure, however, and we have all kinds visiting (in Virginia). We love it.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Ten minutes after i assembled it i had a Large
squirrel inside the globe eating the bird seed. The pole it sits on will not deter squirrels. Save your money!

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I had a female cardinal get trapped in one of the lower loops and die. A very pretty feeder but I had to modify it with copper wire to prevent this from happeneing again.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I bought this as a gift for my daughter's wedding anniversary. Secretly, I wanted my 14 month old grandson to enjoy the birds coming to the feeder on their deck. What they love the most about this feeder is that they can move it around to try better locations if needed.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Lovely addition to my flower garden, keeps the large birds out and attracks the song birds.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
The finial broke off as it was being set up! It's pretty, but too flimsy to bother with. What a shame, I thought this company had quality products.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Very attractive bird feeder for my 1902 Victorian house. I was concerned that the bird food would fall right through and be all over the ground BUT that is not true...it hold the seed very well and no squirrels allowed. I love this feeder!
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
The look of this is just right for my garden and apparently for the birds as well becasue they love it. I watched a crafty squirrel try to leep to it from a rooftop, but it immediately fled when the center started swinging.
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Thinking I will take it down for winter as rain and wind may not be best for seeds
Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
My husband and I are semi-retired so we have more time to enjoy bird watching. Since my husband is also a wheelchair user, getting out & about is difficult in the winter. Even though we have several bird feeders, we especially enjoyed this one since it allows the smaller birds an edge to getting to the bird seed without having to compete with the big ones.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
My mom has a beautiful yard and this made a unique addition. Unfortunately, it is more stylish than practical (do you ever get both in one product?). While visting her in June, I looked out to see a squirrel perched comfortably inside the cage munching away on seed! Unfortunately, it had rained a great deal so the ground was saturated. As he jumped away, the cage fell over onto a fence and broke the finial from the top.
I clicked that I would not reccomend this to a friend, but that is solely based on the reason first reason I purchased it, which is that it was to be squirrel proof. Otherwise, it's still an attractive feeder.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I ordered this because the blue jays and other larger birds kept throwing the seed out of my traditional feeder on the ground and wasting it. This feeder keepss the big birds out and lets the small birds I want feed. It does not keep the squirrel out. He can crawl in between the scrolls.I also love the way it looks. I really like this feeder.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I placed the bird feeder in my garden. A raccoon tried to climb it and the pole broke. I now have just the globe-shaped feeder (filled with sunflower meats) hanging from a much sturdier pole. I have an abundance of birds- from goldfinches and chickadees to woodpeckers (both downy and hairy) , red winged blackbirds, and grackels. They all love this feeder. The feeder does not prevent larger birds from getting in. It also does not prevent chipmunks, red squirrels, or grey squirrels. While this product is extremely attractive, I am very disappointed in it. I would not recommend anyone purchase it.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
It was lovely till the squirrels bent the wires. It no longer holds seeds. I don't think it is worth the money I spent and would have sent it back.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
Inner screen although appearing sturdy would be fine if squirrels could not get into feeder. The pole is flimsy and wobbles.
I like the look and its easy to fill.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
I wanted it the first time I saw it and cut the picture out so my husband could "surprise" me at Christmas. I do wish squirrels could not get in and knock the feeder bowl off the assembly.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
After adding a supporting rod hammered into the ground, this has been a beautiful addition to my yard that my neighbors complement upon. I did have to add a thin wire (unnoticeable at a distance) to shrink the holes, making it squirrel proof. I have a constant flow of small birds, in a variety of colors I did not were here, coming to my yard.

I bought this product to add beauty to my garden, feed birds and to keep squirrels out of the seed. I tought will be a heavy strong birdfeeder for the price paid.

Comments about Victorian Birdcage Feeder:
It is a beautiful bird feeder, but it does not work to keep squirrels out! They easily fit between the ornamental scrollwork, which is supposed to dissuade larger critters, but does not. I do not put bird seed in it, as the squirrels eat it all.
